The "coup de grace" for the anti-Trump left or head exploder. Legal in all fifty states. Get one while they last. (ps) I did not vote for him. Both candidates made me want to puke.
I wish I had a buck for every Trump supporter who has felt it necessary to let the NewsTalkers community know that they did not vote for him. I could afford that round-the-clock psychiatric care I've been needing since November 9, 2016.
I guess safe spaces and puppy dogs don't work for everyone, eh?
mostly for sexually repressed teavangelicals these days. when the puppies grow up, they still can't talk. no worries, there's probably no law against that in Texas.
Save you imaginary psychic powers for the lottery dude. I will vote for him next time if he continues governing the same way he has to this point. And I will admit it freely.
Where are you getting this shit from? Please limit yourself to my words. If you can not copy/paste it, don't presume I believe it. I believed Trump was an NY city big government progressive. ( he was) And I knew he was a reality Tv celebrity. I thought it was a piss poor starting point to govern from. I did write this further down the thread, you may have missed it.
I thought Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer would flatter, and cajole him to revert back to his NY city, big government progressive roots. I think it would have worked as I believe Trump craves mainstream praise and adulation above all else, leading him to probably squeal with joyful childlike delight if the NY times were to do a fluff piece about his "enlightened" leadership. But the far left shot that idea down with their insane rhetoric directed at him and his family.
I was sure we would be co-opted quickly into the politically correct club, and forget his campaign promises, I'm pleasantly surprised he has not. I would enthusiastically vote for him if he runs for a second term, so long as he keeps the same political trajectory of his Presidency.
The cartoon is fine as long as you add some lines giving a point of discussion since of course, we are a discussion site. The same thing goes for memes. They can't be stand alone, but they can be used as part of a greater discussion.
I added a quote. Hope is what you meant. As I don't know how to comment in a cartoon.
I explained my reason for seeding it.
I did not vote for Trump, but he has performed far better than I imagined. I never recall seeing him called a racist until he ran as a Republican. I remember photos of him with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Then he became a danger to the nation, or "clutches his pearls" a nazi. Like all other Republicans become in the eyes of the left.
Bernie Sanders ran a very nationalistic leaning campaign while endorsing socialism ( ) and Trump is a nazi , funny the pundits on the left are.
But the far left shot that idea down with their insane rhetoric directed at him and his family.
What 'rhetoric' are you referring to? Please be specific.
I never recall seeing him called a racist until he ran as a Republican.
His company was found guilty of racial discrimination in housing DECADES ago and plenty called him a racist during the years of his 'birther' campaign.
I remember photos of him with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
So if you take a picture with a person of color, the means you aren't a racist?
Then he became a danger to the nation, or "clutches his pearls" a nazi.
Very cogent arguments have been made to support those posits.
Like all other Republicans become in the eyes of the left.
Bullshit.
Why pretend that either the left or the right is incapable of viewing INDIVIDUALS based on their words and actions.
I for one know quite a few Republicans that are NOT racists, hell I even voted for one. Most of the conservatives that I know did NOT vote for Trump. Most of the Republicans and Independents that I know that did vote for Trump are having 'buyers remorse'.
Never were they 'found guilty', unless of course you have a verifiable link to support that assertion, which is impossible.
Trump’s countersuit in the fair housing case brought against his company was dismissed by a judge who considered it a “waste of paper.” The Trump organization eventually accommodated the feds, agreeing to a protocol intended to address the mistakes of the past.
For two years Trump would be required to supply weekly lists of vacancies to the Urban League’s Open Housing Center. When vacancies opened up in buildings where fewer than 10 percent of the tenants were black or Hispanic, the center would then have three days to submit applications from minority clients who wanted those apartments. If qualified, they were to get preference by agreeing to advertise vacancies in newspapers that served the black community. Trump was also required to advertise vacancies in press outlets serving minority communities.
As XD stated, his company was never found guilty. They agreed to not discriminate against anyone based on the protected groups at the time. That does not constitute guilt.
What libs won't acknowledge is that Trump also refused to rent to whites....all because they were on welfare. That is where the discrimination suit came from, but libs wanted to make it about race...and still do today....failingly.
Good lord, you are kidding me with that nonsense? right? I have no intention of providing sources that you will ignore or dismiss out of hand. The best source of unhinged rhetoric regarding Trump is on the front page. No, I'm not kidding!
It helps to have a wide variety of reading sources to form an intelligent opinion of the world we inhabit. I try in include many left-leaning sources. Luckily I still have the memory to recall them. This was in the Atlantic, just before the election.
The Democrats Who Cried Wolf
So say his critics, particularly those on the left: He’s dangerously ignorant about policy, and incurious about the world. His views on women are radical and unacceptable. His business career ain’t what it’s cracked up to be. He doesn’t have the temperament to be president. He’s a fascist. His positions are the most extreme any Republican has proposed since Goldwater.
Did liberals botch their chance to take down Trump by hyperbolically attacking past Republican nominees? Probably, though the GOP is no more innocent.
To which some American conservatives wearily reply: Oh, you don’t say? Jaundiced after hearing past GOP candidates described in similarly extreme terms, some conservatives feel that Democrats and liberal pundits have cried wolf, describing past Republicans with such elevated levels of alarm that warnings about Trump don’t elicit the same urgency.
Dangerously ignorant about policy and incurious about the world? That was the line on George W. Bush 16 years ago. Radical, unacceptable views about women? Said of any number of Republicans. Overrated business career? Just ask Mitt Romney about that one. (Not only was Romney’s success credited to his father’s connection, The New York Times reported ,“Mr. Romney, though, never ran a corner store or a traditional business. Instead, he excelled as a deal maker,” which sounds eerily familiar.) A temperament unsuited for the Oval Office? Some said the same thing about John McCain . Fascism? Two videos uploaded by users to a MoveOn contest likened Bush to Adolph Hitler in 2004 . * Extreme positions? “He’s the most conservative nominee that they’ve had going back to Goldwater,” top Obama aide David Plouffe said of Romney in 2012 .
Once you’ve already used all of these insults once before, they start to lose their sting. That’s the point of Godwin’s Law , the theory that “as an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazism or Hitler approaches 1,” and of critiques of likening various politicians to the Nazi leader. Once you’ve compared someone to Hitler, you have both used up your one chance to compare her to history’s greatest monster—and you’ve risked downplaying the significance of Hitler by diluting the insult
The wolf-crying problem plays out in ways both large and small. I saw several conservative writers throwing up their hands in protest at Paul Krugman’s column Monday, in which he wrote , “ Yet the great majority of these not-crazy Republicans are still supporting Mr. Trump for president. And we have a right to ask why.” The New York Post ’s Kyle Smith snarkily dismissed the plea:
What libs won't acknowledge is that Trump also refused to rent to whites....all because they were on welfare. That is where the discrimination suit came from, but libs wanted to make it about race...and still do today....failingly.
So one candidate , Trump, was compared definitively to the glaring faults of at least FOUR other GOP candidates (BushII, Mccain, Romney and Goldwater) and you somehow think this is a good thing for Trump. Wow. (BTW , his resemblances to Nixon were left out)
Don't try to defend Trump. It can't be done. (You'll thank me for the advice later.)
So if you take a picture with a person of color, the means you aren't a racist?
No, it doesn't, of course. But it sure helps a lot. You don't see a lot of known racists pallng around or doing business with people of color to the degree that Trump does. I think anyone has the potential for some racism, sexism or other prejudice, but generally, only a very small percentage of the population feels and expresses these feelings in a harmful way. The fact of Trump's interactions with people of color certainly diminishes the probability that he is racist in any meaningful way.
Good lord, you are kidding me with that nonsense? right? I have no intention of providing sources that you will ignore or dismiss out of hand.
Then why bother copying and pasting the content and link to an article.
Instead of relying on sources, you could have used your own words and identified the specific rhetoric that you were refereeing to. Original thought is always welcome.
The best source of unhinged rhetoric regarding Trump is on the front page. No, I'm not kidding!
I asked for what YOU were referring to specifically, NOT what's on the FP here or anywhere else.
It helps to have a wide variety of reading sources to form an intelligent opinion of the world we inhabit. I try in include many left-leaning sources. Luckily I still have the memory to recall them. This was in the Atlantic, just before the election.
I read the Atlantic almost every day. The irony is that you tell me to look to the FP for 'the best source of the unhinged rhetoric' and then resort to an over 2 years old article to attempt to bolster your posit.
You may want to review the RECENT articles from the same author @ the Atlantic.
Here are a couple from THIS MONTH, I've read them both...
Barack Obama Makes the Case Against Trump
There's Always a New Low for the Trump White House
Good God do we ave to do everything for you? Looks like we do...
Donald Trump denied any racial discrimination, but said his managers tried to weed out certain kinds of tenants. “What we didn’t do was rent to welfare cases, white or black," Trump wrote in a 1987 book.
The fact of Trump's interactions with people of color certainly diminishes the probability that he is racist in any meaningful way.
Trump 'interacts' with people of color all the time. His golf courses and hotels are full of them. They serve, cook his dinner and clean his toilets.
Conversely, his words and actions just in THIS century illustrate that his is a racist.
A Mexican judge can't be unbiased because Trump wants to build a wall.
Oh and the wall itself.
“Now, whether or not that was a real certificate, because a lot of people question it ... I certainly question it,” Trump said. “But he didn’t do it for Hillary Clinton, he didn’t do it for [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, but he did it for me. So in one sense, I’m proud of it. Now all we need to do is find out whether or not it was real.”
"Look at my African American'!
“If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me”
'Shithole countries' and why can't we have more immigration from Sweden.
“And isn’t it funny. I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it,” O’Donnell recalled Trump saying. “The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”
Good God do we ave to do everything for you? Looks like we do...
As the one making the assertion, it is on you to support it.
BTW, who are the 'we' you refer to?
Donald Trump denied any racial discrimination, but said his managers tried to weed out certain kinds of tenants. “What we didn’t do was rent to welfare cases, white or black," Trump wrote in a 1987 book. I know, I know...he lies...blah blah blah...
Trump has never written a book. I doubt that he has ever even read one.
To all the Fricks and Fracks of unabated ignorance on Newstalkers (you know who you are)
Donald Trump does not write books. I doubt if he even writes Happy Birthday on greeting cards. He has a long list of ghostwriters who write his books and Trump puts his name on them.
I actually thought everyone knew that but we must always be prepared to be surprised by ignorance.
Apr 16, 2011 · Every single book published by Donald Trump and listed on amazon has a co-author’s name right on its cover–it’s not like Trump was trying to hide it. Only book, a collection of aphorisms from other business people–lists Trump solo. So what’s going on? Why is Trump just getting more and more manic, and why isn’t Roger Ailes …
Look at All the Books Donald Trump Has "Written" That Nobody Is Buying
Since 1987, Donald Trump has written at least 15 books. According to his personal financial disclosure, eleven of those earned him less than $1,000 in royalties last year, and nine earned him less than $200.
Personal financial disclosures do not require candidates to specify income amounts, but rather give ranges: Last year’s Crippled America , for example, made him between one million and five million dollars.
Other recent tomes are also still selling relatively well: Think Like a Champion , published in 2009, brought in less than $50,000 in income; Time to Get Tough , published in 2011, is still selling at a lively pace, bringing in between $100,000 and $1,000,000 in royalties last year.
But many more of Trump’s books are barely selling at all: The Way to the Top (2004) made between $201 and $1,000, and How to Get Rich (2004) made between $5,001 and $1,000.
The following titles earned Trump no more than $200:
Trump: Surviving at the Top (1990);
The Art of the Comeback (1997);
The America We Deserve (2000);
Think Like a Billionaire (2004);
The Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Received (2005);
Why We Want You to Be Rich (2006);
Trump 101: The Way to Success (2007);
Think BIG and Kick Ass in Business and Life (2007);
Never Give Up (2008).
His 1987 debut, The Art of the Deal , brought him between $50,000 and $100,000 in royalties. Then again, according to the book’s ghostwriter, Tony Schwartz, Trump didn’t actually write The Art of the Deal . In September, Schwartz tweeted:
Tony Schwartz
✔ @tonyschwartz
I wrote the Art of the Deal. Donald Trump read it.
Nov 05, 2015 · Donald Trump's new book, "Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again," was written by a ghostwriter, two sources confirm to Confidenti@l.
You agreed with XDM, who claimed that Trump has written a long list of books. I'm pretty sure that Trump did not even write one of those books. My advice to you is to quit while you are behind.
Acknowledging differences doesn't make you prejudiced. And some of the things you referenced have nothing at all to do with race, but because black people were present or referenced, you decide the comment must be based on that. That's a tactic I see all the time from the SJWs of the world. You can't criticize a black man for being an idiot even if he is one because it would be racist. It's dishonest and unfair.
Acknowledging differences doesn't make you prejudiced.
Which of those events that I cited are merely 'acknowledging differences' Tacos!? Oh and WHAT differences are they acknowledging?
And some of the things you referenced have nothing at all to do with race, but because black people were present or referenced, you decide the comment must be based on that. That's a tactic I see all the time from the SJWs of the world. You can't criticize a black man for being an idiot even if he is one because it would be racist. It's dishonest and unfair.
So just address those that meet your criteria. I'll wait...
I guess you're not getting it still. It's easy to be simple-minded about this and call everything racist. When you assume the worst in people, that's what you do.
So just address those that meet your criteria. I'll wait...
I can address them all. Not one is a situation where it must racism and only racism.
Trump 'interacts' with people of color all the time. His golf courses and hotels are full of them. They serve, cook his dinner and clean his toilets.
He also has thousands of white people working for him. In fact, almost everyone he interacts with is a paid employee. You make it sound like these people of color are slaves or something. That's dishonest.
Trump is ether hiring black people (giving them jobs) or he's racist and won't hire black people. It's one or the other. You don't get to point out that he's hiring black people and paying them money and simultaneously pretend he's enslaving them. If he were truly racist, he wouldn't hire them at all or they would be working as slaves.
A Mexican judge can't be unbiased because Trump wants to build a wall.
Judges are accused (fairly and unfairly) of bias all the time by litigants. SJWs have zero reservations about accusing white judges of being racist all the time, but suggest that a hispanic judge might have a grudge against the guy who wants to build a wall with Mexico and suddenly it must be racism. This one might actually be the best example of a racist moment, but don't forget that he's doing what you do. He's assuming someone is racist based on their heritage.
Oh and the wall itself.
. . . is only a wall. The goal is to separate one country from another country. If you think it's racist, you're the one with a problem because Mexico is a country, not a race. And by the way, it's a country that's about 20% white. Have a look at all their presidents. They're as white as all but one of ours.
“But he didn’t do it for Hillary Clinton, he didn’t do it for [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, but he did it for me.
So what? Politics may be racist but it's also tribal. Almost every politician makes a big deal about something when it's their political opponent, but not when it's about an ally.
"Look at my African American'!
The fact that Trump says "here is our African American whatever" or "look at this hispanic whatever" doesn't make him racist. If Obama or Hillary said "I'm pleased to nominate this hispanic woman to the Supreme Court," you'd see that as a feature to be excited about. Trump does it and you call it racism.
“If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me”
The gold star family? Again, so? The Left has no compunctions at all about assuming that Melania is some thoughtless voiceless slave he uses for his own pleasure, but if Trump makes that assumption about someone else, it must be racist. And wasn't that family Muslim? Is Muslim a race? No, it's a religion. If Trump is prejudiced in this situation, it's a religious prejudice, not racism.
But is it so strange? Is there another religious culture that is more disrespectful of women's rights and a woman's voice than Islam? Aren't SJWs railing all the time about how disenfranchised women are in islamic cultures? How come when Trump does it it's suddenly racist?
'Shithole countries' and why can't we have more immigration from Sweden.
Be real. Nigeria is a shithole. Trump said they live in huts, right? Nigeria has the worst housing crisis on the planet. Seriously. Check it out.
And then also be real about Sweden. Bernie Sanders wants to turn the United States into Sweden and you stand up and cheer for him. Donald Trump wants to do it and he's racist??? WTF?
“And isn’t it funny. I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it,” O’Donnell recalled Trump saying. “The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”
Context: This comes from a book written by one of Trump's former casino executives. He claims Trump said this in reference to a Trump Plaza financial executive (who happened to be black).
First of all, Jews legitimately have a centuries old tradition of working in banking and accounting because European ant-semitism wouldn't allow them to do anything else. Thus, the stereotype.
Second, it sounds to me like a joke. Was it a racial joke? Sure! We used to be able to make racial jokes in this country without being racist. But still you're missing the bigger picture here:
Trump hired a black man to an executive accounting position! He was hiring black men as executives. How in the hell can that be racist?
NFL player protesters are Unamerican.
Nothing in that about being black. Nothing that says white guys who do it are ok; and there's no reason to think he would approve of white people doing it (and some white players have done it).
"There were good people on both sides"
Yep, not his best moment, but also not unique. Obama couldn't bring himself to say "radical Islam." Does that mean he endorses ISIS or Al-Qaeda? No, it means he's trying to do the typical politician thing where he's just trying to say nice things and doesn't want to be in the position of potentially condemning American citizens or something they believe in.
For Trump, if we're being fair, we have to remember the context. This didn't start out as Nazis vs everyone else. It started out as regular people in the South arguing about whether or not Civil War statues should come down. Within that debate, it's fair to say there are good people on both sides. That was Trump's frame of reference.
Locking up brown infants.
First of all, nobody is "locking up" infants. Second, Trump is not responsible for the color of people who walk across our border illegally. Democrats have come out in support of border security with Mexico before (I can point you to links of videos of Hillary Clinton and Chuck Shumer, for example), and it was never racist when they did it. Trump does it and suddenly it's racist.
I guess you're not getting it still. It's easy to be simple-minded about this and call everything racist. When you assume the worst in people, that's what you do.
Deflection. The examples I gave aren't about 'assuming the worst', they are examples of actions and words from Trump.
I can address them all.
Well see.
He also has thousands of white people working for him.
We aren't talking about who he employs. We are talking about who he interacts with. MY point is that the majority of the people of color Trump interacts with are employees at his 'accommodations' and that his interaction with them is largely in their accommodating him.
You make it sound like these people of color are slaves or something. That's dishonest.
I did? HOW? I'm pretty fucking sure that everyone knows that Trump's properties don't 'hold slaves'. Though is HAS been opined that H2B visas are equivalent to indenture to one's 'sponsor'.
This one might actually be the best example of a racist moment, but don't forget that he's doing what you do.
You have no fucking clue what I do.
So Trump gets a pass from you because you think others are racist. Got ya.
BTW, you're whataboutism is noted.
He's assuming someone is racist based on their heritage.
Are you saying that you think that I assume all people of a certain heritage are racists? What heritage do you think I prefer exactly? Is there one that you think that have particular animus for? Oh and please do tell me what brought you to those conclusions?
You talk about 'acknowledging differences' when what Trump actually does it HIGHLIGHT them. Trump desperately grabs on to 'differences' for an excuse for why someone disagrees with him. Instead of making a cogent argument, Trump cites race and/ or ethnicity and NEEDS to make everyone seem poorer, smaller, lessor, dumber, weaker and/or crazier in order to diminish the credibility of their opposition.
The goal is to separate one country from another country.
Well gee Tacos!, if that's the goal, why then are we only talking about a fucking wall to separate the US from the country full of predominantly brown and black people and NOT the country full of predominantly white people?
If you think it's racist, you're the one with a problem because Mexico is a country, not a race.
I want to point out that you went from talking about 'heritage' to talking about 'race'.
Mexico's 'heritage' AND racial mix diverged from the US quite a while ago, as many here have decried ad nauseam. The vast majority of the population in Mexico is at minimum, biracial, causeing most of them to be BROWN skinned, which is a racial characteristic.
The fact that Trump says "here is our African American whatever" or "look at this hispanic whatever" doesn't make him racist.
Why are you avoiding addressing what he ACTUALLY said?
Seriously, READ what you posted. 'Whatever, whatever'. It's obfuscation.
If Obama or Hillary said "I'm pleased to nominate this hispanic woman to the Supreme Court," you'd see that as a feature to be excited about. Trump does it and you call it racism.
More whataboutism AND more of your fallacious assumption about ME personally.
The gold star family? Again, so?
So it was bigoted and disrespectful. PERIOD, full stop.
Would you PLEASE address the examples of Trump's actions and statements and STOP defecting with whataboutism BS?
This incessant 'I know what you are what am I' is a juvenile tactic.
Be real. Nigeria is a shithole. Trump said they live in huts, right? Nigeria has the worst housing crisis on the planet. Seriously. Check it out.
YOU be real.
First of all, Nigeria is only ONE of about 200 countries in that program.
Secondly, WTF is WRONG with living in a hut? MY people live in a bamboo 'hut' with a thatched roof on stilts in a Barrio in the Philippines. It's fucking HOT, HUMID, it floods ant there are monsoons. They keep the animals under the 'hut' and their body heat migrates through the seams in the floor and keeps them warm @ night. The side walls tilt open for ventilation during the heat of the day and for passing through cocktails onto the balcony.
BTFW, it's BEAUTIFUL, comfortable, spacious and has WORKED for my people for millennium.
Your comment illustrates an ignorance of culture and environmental realities.
And then also be real about Sweden. Bernie Sanders wants to turn the United States into Sweden and you stand up and cheer for him.
Again with the fucking deflection and fallacious assumptions about ME personally.
Donald Trump wants to do it and he's racist??? WTF?
With Sanders it's about their successful economy, with Trump it's about the color of their skin.
Context:
Can't trust the source, jews ARE moneychangers, it was a joke. Sheesh what a litany of equivocation.
Yep, not his best moment, but also not unique.
The question isn't about how unique it is, it's about whether it gave license to the white supremacists. We KNOW that it did based on what THEY said about it.
Obama couldn't bring himself to say "radical Islam."
Do you never tire of whataboutism? Why are you incapable of addressing anything about Trump without citing Obama?
First of all, nobody is "locking up" infants.
Would you prefer that PC term 'detaining' Tacos!? Sheesh.
Second, Trump is not responsible for the color of people who walk across our border illegally.
If those families were white the hue and cry would have been deafening on day one. In fact, it would have NEVER been enacted. Proof of that is that Trump has made little to NO attempt to secure the Canadian border.
Democrats have come out in support of border security with Mexico before (I can point you to links of videos of Hillary Clinton and Chuck Shumer, for example), and it was never racist when they did it.
It wasn't racist because it was about infrastructure.
Trump does it and suddenly it's racist.
What Trump did was enact a zero tolerance policy on the southern border that criminalized crossing the border AND denies qualified asylum seekers. ALL of those effected are BROWN skinned people. Trump was actually surprised that anyone gave a shit, he was sure that it was a 'WINNING' policy with his base.
The examples I gave aren't about 'assuming the worst', they are examples of actions and words from Trump.
Which you assumed to be racist. Assuming the worst. It's not that complicated.
We aren't talking about who he employs. We are talking about who he interacts with.
And yet your examples were all people who would be working for him. I don't know what else you expect. They're your examples, not mine. So clearly that is what "we" are talking about.
the majority of the people of color Trump interacts with are employees at his 'accommodations' and that his interaction with them is largely in their accommodating him.
And that means they are paid - by him. What is the problem with that?
You have no fucking clue what I do.
I do. I explained in the very next sentence what I meant by that, but you chose to ignore it. i.e., assuming racism in people. And then you called it whataboutism, which it isn't, but it's clear you actually did understand what I was saying. I get it, though. It's probably painful to realize you do the same thing as the reviled Trumpzilla. But don't blame me simply recognizing your behavior. You're the one doing it.
Trump desperately grabs on to 'differences' for an excuse for why someone disagrees with him.
I actually think that's true sometimes. I think that's true for a lot of people. Heck I think that's true of you. That doesn't make either one of you racist.
why then are we only talking about a fucking wall to separate the US from the country full of predominantly brown and black people and NOT the country full of predominantly white people?
????
Because people aren't illegally streaming in from the white country by the tens of millions. That's why.
Seriously, did I have to explain that?
I want to point out that you went from talking about 'heritage' to talking about 'race'.
To be most accurate, I should have said Trump was concerned that the judge would have been unfairly prejudiced against him. The judge is of hispanic heritage, but he's as white as Trump. This is why the action relative to the nation was important.
more of your fallacious assumption about ME personally
If it's fallacious, you aren't saying how. And if I am wrong, then it wouldn't make much sense for you to disagree with me on the point.
with Trump it's about the color of their skin
Is it? How do you know? Why would it be when the economic differences between Sweden and the shithole countries like Nigeria are so glaringly obvious?
it's about whether it gave license to the white supremacists.
Those people have been around for a long time. They didn't need Trump to make it ok. And as it turns out, he didn't make it ok because a year later, barely a dozen people showed up for the event. If Trump were giving them license, the movement would be growing instead of shrinking.
Do you never tire of whataboutism?
Do you ever tire of hypocrisy? You condemn something in one man but you don't hear about or condemn another man you like for doing the exact same thing. Pointing out your hypocrisy isn't whataboutism.
Would you prefer
I'd prefer a dose of honesty and education concerning the context of situations.
Trump has made little to NO attempt to secure the Canadian border.
Canadian illegal entry is an issue, of course. And we do have people working to stop it. It's even more of a problem than it used to be because you no longer need a visa to go from Mexico to Canada. Should we divert resources to Canada? Well, according to this story , for the whole year, thus far, 267 people have been apprehended trying to enter the US from Canada. A whole Two Hundred Sixty Seven People. Oooh! That is impressive!
Meanwhile, according to this story , illegal crossings at the Mexican border can exceed 50,000 (yes, that Fifty THOUSAND) every month. But sure, yeah Canada. Big deal. Get 'em champ!
It wasn't racist because it was about infrastructure.
Whatever it was about, they made laws to restrict it, right? What's wrong with enforcing those laws?
What Trump did was enact a zero tolerance policy on the southern border that criminalized crossing the border AND denies qualified asylum seekers.
First, enacting a zero tolerance policy doesn't make something a crime. It already is a crime. All a zero tolerance policy means is that you enforce that law all the time and every time. Second, by definition, if the asylum seekers were qualified for entry, there would be no grounds for arresting them. Your claims are demonstrably and obviously untrue.
ALL of those effected are BROWN skinned people
Not all, but most are for sure. That fact doesn't make enforcement of the law racist.
Trump was actually surprised that anyone gave a shit
Probably because he knows it's not racist and he can't believe anyone made up a bullshit story that border enforcement (something every country on the planet does) could suddenly be racist. And don't forget the 267 people we have arrested coming in from Canada. I bet most of them are white. What about that? Huh? Yeah? See? Not racist!
Which you assumed to be racist. Assuming the worst. It's not that complicated.
Nope, I used critical thinking to JUDGE them racist.
And yet your examples were all people who would be working for him. I don't know what else you expect. They're your examples, not mine. So clearly that is what "we" are talking about.
To refute your false claim that taking pictures with prominent people of color proves that Trump isn't a racist.
You admitted yourself:
In fact, almost everyone he interacts with is a paid employee.
How he treats and talks about those that he interacts with is relevant. The fact that the majority are employees merely illustrates how he treats and talks about people of color that are NOT in the limelight. Trump LOVES to punch down.
And that means they are paid - by him. What is the problem with that?
Which precludes him from treating them and talking about them respectfully how?
I do. I explained in the very next sentence what I meant by that, but you chose to ignore it. i.e., assuming racism in people.
Again, NO. You have NO clue what I do.
Secondly, I didn't ignore anything, I addressed 'the very next sentence extensively. I note that YOU chose to ignore that part of my reply.
And then you called it whataboutism, which it isn't, but it's clear you actually did understand what I was saying.
'He's just doing what you do' sure as fuck IS whataboutism.
Again, I CLEARLY understood what you were saying since I addressed your BS about heritage.
I get it, though. It's probably painful to realize you do the same thing as the reviled Trumpzilla.
It seems that you are incapable of understanding the concept of making judgments based on critical thinking.
‘When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.’ Maya Angelou
But don't blame me simply recognizing your behavior. You're the one doing it.
I'm not 'blaming' you for anything but your own unfounded conclusions.
I actually think that's true sometimes. I think that's true for a lot of people. Heck I think that's true of you.
You too?
BTW, more whataboutism. It doesn't fucking MATTER what I do or you do in our private lives since it has little to NO effect on others. Trump deflective excuses effect the whole world.
That doesn't make either one of you racist
It sure as hell does if race is the predict.
Because people aren't illegally streaming in from the white country by the tens of millions. That's why. Seriously, did I have to explain that?
So you now admit the goal isn't just to separate one country from another. Progress!
BTW, tens of millions aren't illegally streaming in from ANYWHERE.
The judge is of hispanic heritage, but he's as white as Trump.
Actually, the Judge is of Latino heritage and statistically probably multiracial
BTW, Trump is orange, not white.
This is why the action relative to the nation was important.
Huh?
If it's fallacious, you aren't saying how.
Your ad nauseam assumptions of what MY reaction will be or what my motivations are fallacious. You don't know me, STOP pretending that you do. Your need to embellish your comments with unfounded predictions of what YOU think MY personal reaction or motivation will be are offensive and unwarranted.
KNOCK IT OFF.
And if I am wrong, then it wouldn't make much sense for you to disagree with me on the point.
I didn't disagree with anything. I stated that your 'point' was whataboutism and that your assumption about my reaction was fallacious.
Read more carefully.
Is it? How do you know? Why would it be when the economic differences between Sweden and the shithole countries like Nigeria are so glaringly obvious?
Well since the program isn't based on the economics of the countries involved, your 'point; is irrelevant.
You seem to have an issue with Nigeria in particular. Why?
Those people have been around for a long time. They didn't need Trump to make it ok.
It sure as hell hasn't hurt them and they trumpet Trump's support on their websites and social media.
And as it turns out, he didn't make it ok because a year later, barely a dozen people showed up for the event. If Trump were giving them license, the movement would be growing instead of shrinking.
For that on particular 'march' yes. IMHO, the low numbers had more to do with them realizing they would be scrutinized and possibly loose their jobs if they showed up. The military has cracked down hard too.
Ask the people of Portland if they think that the movement is shrinking.
Do you ever tire of hypocrisy? You condemn something in one man but you don't hear about or condemn another man you like for doing the exact same thing. Pointing out your hypocrisy isn't whataboutism.
Bullshit. In addition to being whataboutism, your comment is a false equivalence. Here it is:
Yep, not his best moment, but also not unique. Obama couldn't bring himself to say "radical Islam."
Trump insisting that there were 'good people on both sides' after a violent protest and the death of a young woman is in NO WAY comparable to Obama not using a term y'all insist is all important.
I note that you didn't answer my question on that point. Here it is again:
Why are you incapable of addressing anything about Trump without citing Obama?I'd prefer a dose of honesty and education concerning the context of situations.
This while feeling the need to truncate the content of my comment in an attempt to make your 'point'. Speaking of hypocrisy...
Canadian illegal entry is an issue, of course. And we do have people working to stop it.
A very SMALL number of people. NO fences, NO wall, NADA.
It's even more of a problem than it used to be because you no longer need a visa to go from Mexico to Canada.
Why is that relevant? Oh and when did that take effect? Is there any documentation that those apprehended coming in from Canada are from Mexico?
Should we divert resources to Canada? Well, according to this story, for the whole year, thus far, 267 people have been apprehended trying to enter the US from Canada. A whole Two Hundred Sixty Seven People. Oooh! That is impressive!
What's impressive is that the sieve actually catches anyone. BTW, that's 267 in Vermont alone. Read more carefully.
Meanwhile, according to this story, illegal crossings at the Mexican border can exceed 50,000 (yes, that Fifty THOUSAND) every month. But sure, yeah Canada. Big deal. Get 'em champ!
Perhaps because they count refugees in that total and there are a shit load MORE CBP on the southern border.
BTW champ, the ONLY known terrorist to cross into the US by land came from Canada.
Whatever it was about, they made laws to restrict it, right? What's wrong with enforcing those laws?
NO, not 'whatever'. YOU called it racist, it wasn't. HOW one enforces the law is relevant. Sheesh.
First, enacting a zero tolerance policy doesn't make something a crime.
A misdemeanor does not require detention. Trump criminalized it by making detention mandatory for a misdemeanor infraction.
It already is a crime. All a zero tolerance policy means is that you enforce that law all the time and every time.
The law can be enforced WITHOUT mandatory detention. The proof of that is that it was done before for a FRACTION of the cost.
Second, by definition, if the asylum seekers were qualified for entry, there would be no grounds for arresting them.
There are HUNDREDS of asylum seekers that WERE arrested. Trump just lost a court ruling that REQUIRES him to review the claims for asylum by those STILL being detained.
Your claims are demonstrably and obviously untrue.
Yet you've failed to do so.
Not all, but most are for sure. That fact doesn't make enforcement of the law racist.
No, Trump's motivation does.
Probably because he knows it's not racist and he can't believe anyone made up a bullshit story that border enforcement (something every country on the planet does) could suddenly be racist.
Oh PLEASE! Trump knew EXACTLY how it would look to his minions. He threw them red meat. It was obvious right here how his sycophants felt about it.
And don't forget the 267 people we have arrested coming in from Canada.
Again, that 267 was just in Vermont.
I bet most of them are white. What about that? Huh? Yeah? See? Not racist!
Thanks for admitting that your BS about Mexico/Canada visa thingy was irrelevant to those crossing from Canada.
BTW, your linked article says they were arrested but nothing about if they were detained until their hearings so we have no evidence that they are being treated the same.
Well, it's not evident because you arbitrarily reject all the evidence that contradicts your conclusion.
You have NO clue what I do.
Your words make it pretty clear.
It seems that you are incapable of understanding the concept of making judgments based on critical thinking.
Ahh, another person who can't make a compelling argument so he just calls the other person "too stupid to understand." You flatter yourself.
BTW, more whataboutism.
I'll explain again. Hypocrisy is when you condemn something you do yourself. That's what you do right here on NT in this seed. Pointing it out is not whataboutism.
BTW, tens of millions aren't illegally streaming in from ANYWHERE.
Current estimates are that anywhere from 11-20 million or more people are in the US illegally. Tens of millions.
Actually, the Judge is of Latino heritage and statistically probably multiracial
Let's pause for a moment to enjoy the fact that you said "actually" and then made an assumption about an individual based on statistics, when you could just Googled the guy. I LOL'd. Here is his picture. Maybe if you turn down the brightness on your computer, he'll turn brown for you.
You're still trying to compare a few hundred or maybe a few thousand over the course of a year with 50,000 every month from the other border. Doesn't the cognitive dissonance make you ill?
A misdemeanor does not require detention.
It does if the authorities reasonably believe that the person might not appear in court for their hearing. That's a pretty good bet with people who sneak into the country and the actual track record of them not showing up for hearings supports that belief.
The law can be enforced WITHOUT mandatory detention. The proof of that is that it was done before for a FRACTION of the cost.
No, it was tried before. Tried and failed. That's why we so many millions of illegal aliens in the country. It's also why a fed-up citizenry voted for Mr. Zero Tolerance.
There are HUNDREDS of asylum seekers that WERE arrested.
Because they entered the country illegally. You still need to enter illegally if you don't want to be arrested. There is a process for asylum and swimming across the Rio Grande half a mile from a port of entry aint it.
So what Obama is saying is that his policies for 8 years in office, which moved the economy along at a snail's pace, suddenly produced record breaking results when he left office.
Your comment is ridiculous dear, sorry. Obama was handed an economic disaster of a magnitude not seen since '29 and brought it back to what he handed Trump, which is basically what we still have right now. About the only thing we can say about Trump is that he hasn't screwed it up...yet.
Wow. I thought calling women you don't know "dear" was one of those famous micro-aggressions--something no self-respecting progressivecould take part in!
The "coup de grace" for the anti-Trump left or head exploder. Legal in all fifty states. Get one while they last. (ps) I did not vote for him. Both candidates made me want to puke.
Advertising a product isn't a comment.
Only one dollar, Mr. Big Fins? You need to spank over about $50.00.
Bless your heart, sugar.
I love you too, sweetcheeks!
mostly for sexually repressed teavangelicals these days. when the puppies grow up, they still can't talk. no worries, there's probably no law against that in Texas.
Know what I love?
Internet lawyers speculating about laws instead of doing a 5-second Google search.
I would have thought they would at least have their lowly interns doing the hard work for them.
I would never admit it either...
Save you imaginary psychic powers for the lottery dude. I will vote for him next time if he continues governing the same way he has to this point. And I will admit it freely.
So, you weren't sure about Trump at first, but now that you've seen him in action you want to vote for him?
Where are you getting this shit from? Please limit yourself to my words. If you can not copy/paste it, don't presume I believe it. I believed Trump was an NY city big government progressive. ( he was) And I knew he was a reality Tv celebrity. I thought it was a piss poor starting point to govern from. I did write this further down the thread, you may have missed it.
I was sure we would be co-opted quickly into the politically correct club, and forget his campaign promises, I'm pleasantly surprised he has not. I would enthusiastically vote for him if he runs for a second term, so long as he keeps the same political trajectory of his Presidency.

How do I seed a cartoon?
Kpr,
The cartoon is fine as long as you add some lines giving a point of discussion since of course, we are a discussion site.
What 'rhetoric' are you referring to? Please be specific.
His company was found guilty of racial discrimination in housing DECADES ago and plenty called him a racist during the years of his 'birther' campaign.
So if you take a picture with a person of color, the means you aren't a racist?
Very cogent arguments have been made to support those posits.
Link?
So one candidate , Trump, was compared definitively to the glaring faults of at least FOUR other GOP candidates (BushII, Mccain, Romney and Goldwater) and you somehow think this is a good thing for Trump. Wow. (BTW , his resemblances to Nixon were left out)
Don't try to defend Trump. It can't be done. (You'll thank me for the advice later.)
I'll take this one.

This is the writers opinion. Nothing there that admits guilt...but nice try s/
Then why bother copying and pasting the content and link to an article.
Instead of relying on sources, you could have used your own words and identified the specific rhetoric that you were refereeing to. Original thought is always welcome.
I asked for what YOU were referring to specifically, NOT what's on the FP here or anywhere else.
I know, I know...he lies...blah blah blah...

As the one making the assertion, it is on you to support it.
BTW, who are the 'we' you refer to?
Trump has never written a book. I doubt that he has ever even read one.
Yes because Trump NEVER settles lawsuits...
You can go with whatever you want, I'm waiting for an answer from another member.
As the one making the assertion, it is on you to support it.
I did...
You can't refute this either. I again accept your white flag.
Hope you don't mean me. [deleted]
What's funny is that in the quote I used, it specifically said "in his 1987 book".

His 1987 debut, The Art of the Deal , brought him between $50,000 and $100,000 in royalties. Then again, according to the book’s ghostwriter, Tony Schwartz, Trump didn’t actually write The Art of the Deal . In September, Schwartz tweeted:
As it happened, Surviving at the Top was published just as Donald Trump was nearing bankruptcy . Now that’s how you think big and kick ass in business in life.

But more to the point of your rant you were not asked to provide.
In my original comment, I simply copied a quote from an article that mentioned a 1987 book.
One of your buddies chimed in with an Obama inspired "he didn't write that" snip.
Never did I say he wrote anything.
It's your turn to go away...
You agreed with XDM, who claimed that Trump has written a long list of books. I'm pretty sure that Trump did not even write one of those books. My advice to you is to quit while you are behind.
What's funny is that in the quote I used, it specifically said "in his 1987 book".
Why do some liberals not hide their ignorance?
Acknowledging differences doesn't make you prejudiced. And some of the things you referenced have nothing at all to do with race, but because black people were present or referenced, you decide the comment must be based on that. That's a tactic I see all the time from the SJWs of the world. You can't criticize a black man for being an idiot even if he is one because it would be racist. It's dishonest and unfair.
Which of those events that I cited are merely 'acknowledging differences' Tacos!? Oh and WHAT differences are they acknowledging?
So just address those that meet your criteria. I'll wait...
I guess you're not getting it still. It's easy to be simple-minded about this and call everything racist. When you assume the worst in people, that's what you do.
I can address them all. Not one is a situation where it must racism and only racism.
He's assuming someone is racist based on their heritage.
. . . is only a wall. The goal is to separate one country from another country. If you think it's racist, you're the one with a problem because Mexico is a country, not a race. And by the way, it's a country that's about 20% white. Have a look at all their presidents. They're as white as all but one of ours.
So what? Politics may be racist but it's also tribal. Almost every politician makes a big deal about something when it's their political opponent, but not when it's about an ally.
WTF?
Nothing in that about being black. Nothing that says white guys who do it are ok; and there's no reason to think he would approve of white people doing it (and some white players have done it).
Deflection. The examples I gave aren't about 'assuming the worst', they are examples of actions and words from Trump.
Well see.
We aren't talking about who he employs. We are talking about who he interacts with. MY point is that the majority of the people of color Trump interacts with are employees at his 'accommodations' and that his interaction with them is largely in their accommodating him.
I did? HOW? I'm pretty fucking sure that everyone knows that Trump's properties don't 'hold slaves'. Though is HAS been opined that H2B visas are equivalent to indenture to one's 'sponsor'.
You have no fucking clue what I do.
So Trump gets a pass from you because you think others are racist. Got ya.
BTW, you're whataboutism is noted.
Well gee Tacos!, if that's the goal, why then are we only talking about a fucking wall to separate the US from the country full of predominantly brown and black people and NOT the country full of predominantly white people?
I want to point out that you went from talking about 'heritage' to talking about 'race'.
Mexico's 'heritage' AND racial mix diverged from the US quite a while ago, as many here have decried ad nauseam. The vast majority of the population in Mexico is at minimum, biracial, causeing most of them to be BROWN skinned, which is a racial characteristic.
Why are you avoiding addressing what he ACTUALLY said?
Seriously, READ what you posted. 'Whatever, whatever'. It's obfuscation.
More whataboutism AND more of your fallacious assumption about ME personally.
So it was bigoted and disrespectful. PERIOD, full stop.
Would you PLEASE address the examples of Trump's actions and statements and STOP defecting with whataboutism BS?
This incessant 'I know what you are what am I' is a juvenile tactic.
Again with the fucking deflection and fallacious assumptions about ME personally.
With Sanders it's about their successful economy, with Trump it's about the color of their skin.
Can't trust the source, jews ARE moneychangers, it was a joke. Sheesh what a litany of equivocation.
The question isn't about how unique it is, it's about whether it gave license to the white supremacists. We KNOW that it did based on what THEY said about it.
Do you never tire of whataboutism? Why are you incapable of addressing anything about Trump without citing Obama?
Would you prefer that PC term 'detaining' Tacos!? Sheesh.
If those families were white the hue and cry would have been deafening on day one. In fact, it would have NEVER been enacted. Proof of that is that Trump has made little to NO attempt to secure the Canadian border.
It wasn't racist because it was about infrastructure.
Which you assumed to be racist. Assuming the worst. It's not that complicated.
And yet your examples were all people who would be working for him. I don't know what else you expect. They're your examples, not mine. So clearly that is what "we" are talking about.
And that means they are paid - by him. What is the problem with that?
I actually think that's true sometimes. I think that's true for a lot of people. Heck I think that's true of you. That doesn't make either one of you racist.
????
Because people aren't illegally streaming in from the white country by the tens of millions. That's why.
Seriously, did I have to explain that?
To be most accurate, I should have said Trump was concerned that the judge would have been unfairly prejudiced against him. The judge is of hispanic heritage, but he's as white as Trump. This is why the action relative to the nation was important.
If it's fallacious, you aren't saying how. And if I am wrong, then it wouldn't make much sense for you to disagree with me on the point.
Is it? How do you know? Why would it be when the economic differences between Sweden and the shithole countries like Nigeria are so glaringly obvious?
Those people have been around for a long time. They didn't need Trump to make it ok. And as it turns out, he didn't make it ok because a year later, barely a dozen people showed up for the event. If Trump were giving them license, the movement would be growing instead of shrinking.
Do you ever tire of hypocrisy? You condemn something in one man but you don't hear about or condemn another man you like for doing the exact same thing. Pointing out your hypocrisy isn't whataboutism.
I'd prefer a dose of honesty and education concerning the context of situations.
Whatever it was about, they made laws to restrict it, right? What's wrong with enforcing those laws?
First, enacting a zero tolerance policy doesn't make something a crime. It already is a crime. All a zero tolerance policy means is that you enforce that law all the time and every time. Second, by definition, if the asylum seekers were qualified for entry, there would be no grounds for arresting them. Your claims are demonstrably and obviously untrue.
Not all, but most are for sure. That fact doesn't make enforcement of the law racist.
Probably because he knows it's not racist and he can't believe anyone made up a bullshit story that border enforcement (something every country on the planet does) could suddenly be racist. And don't forget the 267 people we have arrested coming in from Canada. I bet most of them are white. What about that? Huh? Yeah? See? Not racist!
Nope, I used critical thinking to JUDGE them racist.
To refute your false claim that taking pictures with prominent people of color proves that Trump isn't a racist.
You admitted yourself:
How he treats and talks about those that he interacts with is relevant. The fact that the majority are employees merely illustrates how he treats and talks about people of color that are NOT in the limelight. Trump LOVES to punch down.
Which precludes him from treating them and talking about them respectfully how?
Again, NO. You have NO clue what I do.
Secondly, I didn't ignore anything, I addressed 'the very next sentence extensively. I note that YOU chose to ignore that part of my reply.
'He's just doing what you do' sure as fuck IS whataboutism.
Again, I CLEARLY understood what you were saying since I addressed your BS about heritage.
It seems that you are incapable of understanding the concept of making judgments based on critical thinking.
‘When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.’ Maya Angelou
I'm not 'blaming' you for anything but your own unfounded conclusions.
You too?
BTW, more whataboutism. It doesn't fucking MATTER what I do or you do in our private lives since it has little to NO effect on others. Trump deflective excuses effect the whole world.
It sure as hell does if race is the predict.
So you now admit the goal isn't just to separate one country from another. Progress!
BTW, tens of millions aren't illegally streaming in from ANYWHERE.
Actually, the Judge is of Latino heritage and statistically probably multiracial
BTW, Trump is orange, not white.
Huh?
Your ad nauseam assumptions of what MY reaction will be or what my motivations are fallacious. You don't know me, STOP pretending that you do. Your need to embellish your comments with unfounded predictions of what YOU think MY personal reaction or motivation will be are offensive and unwarranted.
KNOCK IT OFF.
I didn't disagree with anything. I stated that your 'point' was whataboutism and that your assumption about my reaction was fallacious.
Read more carefully.
Well since the program isn't based on the economics of the countries involved, your 'point; is irrelevant.
You seem to have an issue with Nigeria in particular. Why?
It sure as hell hasn't hurt them and they trumpet Trump's support on their websites and social media.
For that on particular 'march' yes. IMHO, the low numbers had more to do with them realizing they would be scrutinized and possibly loose their jobs if they showed up. The military has cracked down hard too.
Ask the people of Portland if they think that the movement is shrinking.
Bullshit. In addition to being whataboutism, your comment is a false equivalence. Here it is:
Trump insisting that there were 'good people on both sides' after a violent protest and the death of a young woman is in NO WAY comparable to Obama not using a term y'all insist is all important.
I note that you didn't answer my question on that point. Here it is again:
This while feeling the need to truncate the content of my comment in an attempt to make your 'point'. Speaking of hypocrisy...
A very SMALL number of people. NO fences, NO wall, NADA.
Why is that relevant? Oh and when did that take effect? Is there any documentation that those apprehended coming in from Canada are from Mexico?
What's impressive is that the sieve actually catches anyone. BTW, that's 267 in Vermont alone. Read more carefully.
Perhaps because they count refugees in that total and there are a shit load MORE CBP on the southern border.
BTW champ, the ONLY known terrorist to cross into the US by land came from Canada.
NO, not 'whatever'. YOU called it racist, it wasn't. HOW one enforces the law is relevant. Sheesh.
A misdemeanor does not require detention. Trump criminalized it by making detention mandatory for a misdemeanor infraction.
The law can be enforced WITHOUT mandatory detention. The proof of that is that it was done before for a FRACTION of the cost.
There are HUNDREDS of asylum seekers that WERE arrested. Trump just lost a court ruling that REQUIRES him to review the claims for asylum by those STILL being detained.
Yet you've failed to do so.
No, Trump's motivation does.
Oh PLEASE! Trump knew EXACTLY how it would look to his minions. He threw them red meat. It was obvious right here how his sycophants felt about it.
Again, that 267 was just in Vermont.
Your words make it pretty clear.
Ahh, another person who can't make a compelling argument so he just calls the other person "too stupid to understand." You flatter yourself.
I'll explain again. Hypocrisy is when you condemn something you do yourself. That's what you do right here on NT in this seed. Pointing it out is not whataboutism.
Current estimates are that anywhere from 11-20 million or more people are in the US illegally. Tens of millions.

It does if the authorities reasonably believe that the person might not appear in court for their hearing. That's a pretty good bet with people who sneak into the country and the actual track record of them not showing up for hearings supports that belief.
No, it was tried before. Tried and failed. That's why we so many millions of illegal aliens in the country. It's also why a fed-up citizenry voted for Mr. Zero Tolerance.
Because they entered the country illegally. You still need to enter illegally if you don't want to be arrested. There is a process for asylum and swimming across the Rio Grande half a mile from a port of entry aint it.
Typo. You need to enter legally if you don't want to be arrested.
So what Obama is saying is that his policies for 8 years in office, which moved the economy along at a snail's pace, suddenly produced record breaking results when he left office.
Sure makes sense.
Your comment is ridiculous dear, sorry. Obama was handed an economic disaster of a magnitude not seen since '29 and brought it back to what he handed Trump, which is basically what we still have right now. About the only thing we can say about Trump is that he hasn't screwed it up...yet.
Not your dear so please cut it out. Recession was over in 2010.
Wow. I thought calling women you don't know "dear" was one of those famous micro-aggressions--something no self-respecting progressive could take part in!
