New Commenting Feature
Improving NT's functions all the time.
A huge improvement in comment took place just moments ago. When replying to a comment, your reply box will now be right under that comment. That means no more scrolling! This will not only make commenting easier on the desktop site, but much easier on mobile devices.

I don't like it at all. It's too RW for me. I love scrolling and dancing and stuff like that. To take that away from me is un-American and a violation of my civil rights.
I'm gonna turn government witness and spill all the beans. Well I might eat a few beans before I spill them. Might even throw in a couple of weenies. (sorry Wiki).
Anyhow, any further improvement may make me just up and quit. Well maybe not quite quit, but bitch a lot.

Okay, although it brought the "reply" window up to the comment I replied to, it put me down the queue once I posted. No problem.
This really is a great new feature, and time saver. Now when you want to review the comment you are replying to you don't have to scroll back up to the comment, then back down to the bottom to keep typing your comment. And also trying to remember where the comment was that you are replying to.
And, the comment window comes to where you want to reply, not at the bottom, or the top, of the list of comments.
It really is a great idea, and TiG did a great job in bringing it all together so that it works smoothly and easily.
I saw comments where people had made several replies in one comment and the only thing that I could think of is that they either split their screens or loved doing the NT Hokey Pokey.

After I lost my Yo Yo dog, I had to have a companion - so in a dazed and confused state I got a Great Dane puppy. Mr. Hobo Bakans .. Oooo my, not sure my life will ever be the same again...

The feature is very sweet .. I had given up on scrolling back and forth to copy/paste.. at times I would copy/paste an individuals whole comment and then deleted what I did not comment on …….. but I still find myself scrolling back and forth when reading a comment that I cannot make sense of unless I can put it in context … soooo back up the thread I go to see what so and so said .. to make so and so say what they did...
This feature may not solve all the worlds problems, but I am thinking it is a good place to start : )

Thank you for your concern. Haven't heard from them for a while. My daughter had moved further inland to avoid the tidal surge, but it turned out it made landfall about 60km north. So even though her house in right on the Inter Coastal Water Way which is in visible distance to the beach the home missed much of the tidal surge.
With florence moving so slowly, rain is making flooding conditions worse, especially inland where she and others moved to for safely. The topology of the region adds to this situation. It would be safe back at home now.
Power has been out for 24 hrs and conserving phone battery. I haven't heard anything for a while, but will get an occasional text requesting weather and storm related information. I will do some research, text it back and whenever she powers up the phone again it is there to read.
It is very important for the storm to leave and let the water run off.

Evening..Good to hear they are OK..just showed the pics on TV here..geez what a mess and where do you start to clean up etc...Not sure which is worse flood or bushfire...By the looks power will be out for weeks in some areas but that is to be expected..So sad 5 have lost their lives..especially the mum and bub...poor man losing his family..heart breaking for all concerned. Including the firies etc who were trying to get to them...One thing over there many will be willing to help out and do what they can for those affected....Regards to your family and you...glad they are safe...

Don't be bitter... You won't find anyone more critical of the CoC than I... but let's recognize that the general make-over, from the FP to "details" like this, has made NT a MUCH better forum.
