When I was a kid, I went to Atlantic City with my family every summer that was in the 1950's, but these two scenes are pretty much typical of the look and feel of scenes I recall. After the casinos came in, the family atmosphere deteriorated.
Can't go back too bad. Maybe now that some of the casinos are failing, some smart legislators and developers will try to re-create "the way things used to be."
Still here and watching Mac. Like Randy, I've sort of run out of superlatives to adequately describe your fantastic work on these pictures.
I've noticed that in the first photo there is a lighthouse in the background. Is there anybody around who has been to Atlantic City and can tell us if it still exists? It would be really interesting to find out.
For yourself, Larry C, Larry H, Kavika and a few other NT folk to then, in succession, beat that record, fish until sunset, go out for pizza then head back to my porch in the Poconos and shoot the breeze on a black, star-filled night while the local whip-poor-will goes on-and-on.
FAR OUT!!! Why didn't I think of that when I got married; well, except for the fact that we got married in Wisconsin. Since Kenosha is on the Lake Michigan shoreline, I'm sure that there is a lighthouse somewhere in the area, but they're all still being used for the original purposes.

Your work is so good, that to compliment it more would seem repetitive. Beautiful!
Thanks for the kind words MM and Feronia.
Where is everyone?
In that case, select the trout stream and I'll meet you there.
Glad to know you're doing well.
We're the left behind's.

Is that some way to describe a socialist horse's ass?
What would have happened is someone wore a bikini back then - would they be arrested for "decent exposure"?
TTGA,
The lighthouse is still there repurposed so-to-speak.

That's about it.
I'm easy.
They would have been given work at the now long gone Globe Burlesque Theater on the A.C. Boardwalk.
Great pictures, A. Mac! You really have a talent for restoring these old pictures! Great job!
It would be fun to go back in time to just visit the area, as it was...
