2181_discussions.jpg Second time around on these I'm finding techniques to get them "cleaner,"and or ways to "save" some that defy "clean."

"If at first at love you lose, don't give up, try again

(A labor of) love will be better, the second time around."

I love this arrangement of an old song.

You should post "before and after" so that we can admire the excellence of your technique.

Buzz and anyone interested, I have added a non-restored ("before") original at the top of the article under which is the restored and derivative ("after") version.

Wow, that tower at Nuremburg is beautiful!

I want to go there to these places, and see them! What fun!

Thanks for sharing these with us, dear friend!

More great stuff Mac. Even aside from the marvelous restoration techniques, these have everything that I look for in historical photos (costuming, transportation, building styles and other clues to the lifestyle of the times). Only thing needed to make them perfect is a couple of ships or a company of cavalry.

Thanks, A.Mac. It's even more interesting to have seen the before/after. YOur efforts have brought out so much detail that cannot be seen in the aged original.

The horse-drawn carriages make me think of the present ones used by the Amish.
