Who Can Believe President* Trump ?
He talked about many things related to the issue in the span of 7 or 8 minutes. But here is the thing. No one has any proven basis to believe anything he says. Maybe he is right about this or that, maybe he's mistaken about this or that, and maybe he's simply lying.

Trump had an exchange with reporters in the White House today.

He spoke at some length about the border/wall issue.  He talked about a portion of wall that is being built in Texas. He talked about the "great" price the government got from the contractors. He talked about those bringing drugs into the US from Mexico. He talked about "murderers" that were in the caravan trying to enter the US. He talked about drones. He said the border only needs to be 550 miles long due to "impassable"mountains along the border area. He talked about the budget numbers for Homeland Security. He talked about many things related to the issue in the span of 7 or 8 minutes.

But here is the thing.

No one has any proven basis to believe anything he says.  Maybe he is right about this or that, maybe he's mistaken about this or that, and maybe he's simply lying. This is the result of having a serial pathological liar leading our country. Nothing he says is inherently believable.

Sad, sad time for the USA.

The truth is that Donald Trump and his presidency cannot be "redeemed".  And everyone knows it. But "political" considerations require the Trumpsters to pretend he has a future.

I can't help but notice that my little article got no comments.

I suppose to anti-Trump it is all too obvious and to pro trump it is all too depressing to contemplate. No one on earth can fairly take Donald Trump at his word.

His biggest admirers know that they cannot just believe him when he says something, but for "political" reasons, they cannot admit it.

To suggest that the fabric of America is not harmed by all the destructive fantasies associated with being a Trumpster is to be blind.

Trump said that he awarded a contract to someone to build 100 miles worth of border wall in Texas. No one seems to know what he was talking about. One reporter describes it is "Trump riffing".  He pretends that something he says is true, and when it is disputed he moves on to the next lie.

Merely an observation about the level of denial in those profoundly deluded people who call themselves Trump supporters. I have had plenty of articles and seeds that get no comments, as does just about everyone who seeds often.

Let's apply a little logic to your comment. What you are basically saying is that telling the truth about Trump is "boring".

I don't think anyone actually hates him. Personally , I could never "hate" anyone that I did not personally know. I merely observe Trump and understand him. It's not difficult at all.

Trump supporters are the real issue. Trump can't help being a lying asshole. It is his nature. What is the excuse of those who accept this in their "leader" ?

When Trump gives a 7 or 8 minute monologue about the border and immigration, like he did on Christmas morning, how much of it do you believe?  How do you know you can believe any of it, since this is a man who lies to the public multiple times every day?

Please answer the question.

I didn't ask you if we have a border problem.

I asked you how much of what Trump says you believe?  Do you think people should believe Donald trump when he says something?

Are his supporters naive or intentionally approving falsehoods?

It is the media's job to cover the president, and too often it is done with a self-serving agenda.

If the media had done it's job in 2016 it's possible we wouldn't be experiencing this travesty today. The media was far too kind to Trump during the election in 2016.

The Media completely embraced the "Mountain of Trash" campaign, and hence the rational conclusion is they had the most effect into getting him elected.....

If they had rejected it they might have had more success in getting their "chosen" one into office.....

Every trash item they threw at T-rump came back with trash against their favorite. Guess what? there was a lot more substance to the trash that came at Hillary than the trash they were throwing.

And the more they threw, the more they got back.... by a factor of 2.

The only good thing about the "mountain of trash" campaign?

People are so tired of hearing it they are tuning it out..... (and realizing that some party's are nothing but bratty, trash throwing, tantrum children. I mean where is the adult in the room?)

Prior to the election it was KNOWN that Donald Trump had been the nation's most vocal birther in 2011, which was years after the state of Hawaii had officially announced that Obama's original birth certificate was safe and sound and had been examined by state authorities. Trump made his ridiculous 'crusade' worse by lying about sending detectives to Hawaii who he said were discovering amazing things about Obama's birth.

In and of itself Trump's birther nonsense, which was inherently racist, should have permanently disqualified him for consideration for president.

Before the election it was known that Trump had recorded fraudulent video promotions for trump University in which he claimed to have personally selected the instructors for the course. In reality Trump didn't even know any of the instructors before or after they started "teaching" there. He later settled the fraud case against him for 25 million dollars.

Before the election it was known that Trump's company had a habit of stiffing vendors and contractors and forcing people he owed money to sue him. This happened hundreds of times. It was also known he had hired illegal immigrants to do building demolition for him in NYC and had paid them substandard wages which even then he tried to welch on and the workers had to get legal representation and threaten to sue him in order to get paid all Trump owed them.

Before the election it was known that Trump had enriched himself during the casino bankruptcies he engaged in by paying himself bonuses etc. even as he knew that the company was going under and his investors were going to lose their money.

Any and all of these items (and many others) were well known before the election and any and all of them should have disqualified him from consideration to be president.

Yes, the "Mountain of Trash" aka Donald Trump, was given over $2 BILLION in free advertising by the media during the 2016 campaign.

Then a minority of Americans voted for said mountain of trash and his trashy porn model third wife, and now we live daily with a metaphorical double wide mobile home up on blocks on the white house lawn with a continual dumpster fire on the white house steps warming the sycophants who still support this disaster of a President.

Although all these things, and much more were known prior to the election, the mainstream media on television and in the major newspapers barely mentioned these things, if at all. They did however show full content of Trump's ridiculous "lock her up" rallies and give him an estimated two billion dollars of free air time.

Resorting to getting personal again, when you can't offer a counter-argument.

Is there something wrong with you Wally?  I posted a 303 word "counter-argument".

Maybe it's just not the kind of thing that stimulates conversation. It's just kind of a partisan jab. Were you really anticipating a thoughtful debate?

I think there's a lot of dishonesty (or semi-honesty if you like) in and around Washington in both the actors and the media coverage. I don't always trust Trump, but I have lots of reasons to distrust plenty of other people, too. Few are willing to admit that other politicians, bureaucrats or news media might be full of shit. They want to put everything on Trump and never look anywhere else. They will also never give him credit when he is right about things. That's scapegoating. All of that disturbs me more than most of the marginal stuff Trump might be saying.

Today, I saw on the news that those government workers who now have no paychecks support him with this shutdown.  Yeah right.  No paycheck means no bills being paid, maybe no XMas gifts for their kids.

I think he imagined that some government workers "told him" that it is more important that he get a wall than they get a paycheck.

Then again, maybe these are the same people who donated to the GoFundMe account to raise money to build the wall.

There are a lot of people who are easily duped. Even after going to prison for fraud, the televangelist Jim Bakker still gets people to send him money for highly questionable reasons.

I was reluctantly watching that moron and the moronic speech (or whatever the hell that was) with my equally disgusted family.  We were just flabbergasted for the umpteenth time about how there could be anyone in this country who believes any of his bullshit.  Any time that idiot prefaces a statement with “ninety nine point nine percent of ...”, its a clear indication that he is 100% lying, but ... oh wait, we aren’t allowed to sweepingly generalize here so I can’t say what kind of fucking mouth breathing dipshits believe him unwaveringly.
