Old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dance video goes viral as supporters mock shaming attempt
An unearthed video purportedly showing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, dancing in a college-era video was shared by conservative Twitter accounts Wednesday as an attempt to discredit the newly sworn-in progressive congresswoman. Instead, the clip went viral as messages of support were widely posted.
Calling Ocasio-Cortez a "clueless nitwit," an anonymous right-wing twitter account shared a video of young people dancing, saying it showed "High School video of 'Sandy' Ocasio-Cortez." The video has since been viewed more than 5 million times.
The clip appears to be an edited version of a 2010 YouTube video of Boston University students dancing to the song "Lisztomania" by Phoenix. The viral clip has been shortened to feature Ocasio-Cortez, and the music has been replaced with a mocking soundtrack.
Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is...

But much of the reaction on social media has been supportive of Ocasio-Cortez:
Ocasio-Cortez has become a face of a new movement of young, liberal-leaning Democrats in the country, but some conservatives have taken issue with her self-styled image as the working-class "Alex from the Bronx." Ocasio-Cortez grew up and went to school in suburban Yorktown in northern Westchester County, New York.
She describes herself as a democratic-socialist and rose overnight to the national stage after upsetting veteran Democrat U.S. Rep. Joe Crowley in June primary.
Ocasio-Cortez has fiercely defended herself against criticisms of her upbringing: “As everyone knows, I grew up between two worlds + experienced 1st hand how a child’s zip code can shape their destiny. It was scrubbing those households’ toilets w/ my mother that I saw and breathed income inequality. I decided to make a difference."
A 2011 graduate of Boston University, Ocasio-Cortez has used "Sandy" as a nickname in the past and the 2010 YouTube credits "Sandy Ocasio-Cortez" as a participant.
The video includes links showing that creating dancing mash-ups of "Lisztomania" was an international trend in 2010. The trend began in 2009 when a remix video set clips of 1980s movies to the song, Time reports.

Lol. How embarrassing it must be to be a conservative.
Even more embarrassing to be a Democrat that gobbles up fake news.
So please show me the conservatives that are upset with this video? Where is the article?
This is just more fake news by the left to feed their sheep and they gobble it up hook line and sinker.
There are currently 281 comments in this seed. I’m pretty sure yours is the first to officially label it fake news. News probably travels around the world faster [deleted]
WTF does that have to do with anything?
Well other than a headline on your seed you have any proof this actually happened? Come on you can do it. where are these conservatives that made a mocking video. For that matter where is the mocking video they produced?
[deleted]
I guess having fun when you're a young woman in college is a no-no
"Footloose" was based on a true story, you know.
"Footloose" was based on a true story, you know.
Did someone say AOC + Footloose?
(--> MYSTERIOUS LINK {mouse-over & click speaker icon for sound})
Where do you get that from?
Other than someone telling you that people are upset I just want to know who the fuck these people are you claim are upset?
They don't need to make fun of her dancing they just need to wait for her to open her mouth and spew some more imbecile bullshit.
here's your answer to your inane comment:
And in case you missed it, this came right from the article
So you couldn't find where all these conservatives are upset about her little dance video either.
Thanks for playing.
No, you're just not worth the effort
Wow, thanks for admitting you have nothing.
Again, thanks for playing.
Because it doesn't exist...more made up outrage, some can't go a day without the fake outrage.
None of these people are
Yeah but par for course I get the your not worth a response as they respond to me.
They get one anonymous tweet and all of a sudden its all conservatives.....LMFAO at these people.
That's understandable coming from you when you can't back it up with facts.
Always have to have the last word even when I'm not talking to you, don't you?
By all means....hit me with some more of your inanity. I'm done here
That is when folks resort to personal attacks...happens every time. You can bet the farm on it.
Agreed 1000% my dear.
comgrats! After she’s embarsssed herself countless times on substantive issues, democrats have finally found something they can defend her on, a dance video. That’s the Democratic Party in 2019!
Now, maybe you can find a video of representativee Ohmer and you can defend her ability to walk and chew gum while ignoring the fact she married her brother.
“Democrats 2919, sure we support idiots and those who marry family members, but don’t you dare make fun of our dancing.”
Riiiight. So many ‘substantive’ issues to critique, yet the supposedly higher thinking class went after her for an innocent, fun high school video. While she and her peers were having innocent fun in high school, conservatives were drinking themselves unconscious with Brett Kavanaugh and getting into the panties of passed out girls.
You seeded this .
You think discussing her dancing is a topic worthy of discussion.
The topic isn't her dancing. The topic is the conservative reaction to her dancing.
BAZINGA!!!
But her ideas are a danger to us all.
Good grief. Now ideas are dangerous? How do you manage to get out of bed in the morning, with so many dangers lurking around waiting to snuff you out?
Less dangerous that republican ideas that kill babies, gas children and women, destroy our water, kill our animals, and champion voter suppression
But you buy trumps bullshit
Medicare-for-all, free college, and jobs guarantees are NOT exactly sane ideas.
For various reasons including massive offshoring of labor and automation of what industry remains, it is inevitable that the future at some point will require shorter work weeks and possibly universal government subsidized income. Progressives have foresight for what the future will bring, while conservatives insist on living in the past. We aren’t there yet, but understanding the inevitable course of the future is an essential part of governing. Ideas are not dangerous unless you are a conservative snowflake.
Each item you listed has its own discussion. So let's focus on free college. Free higher learning would be abused by some and would be taken for granted by others. That is, when one must pay for something one tends to treat it with more respect. For some, free college will be used as a means of sustaining a lifestyle (high school ⇨ college) of the 'student' rather than deal with a real job. That is inevitable and thus mechanisms need to be in place to mitigate such abuse.
That said, serious students who truly want to pursue a particular career path but are unable to do so because of their (typically their parents') financial means is bad for society. Societies inherently need more higher educated people because the sophistication of civil society continues to increase. We in the USA continue to atrophy intellectually and that is IMO profoundly bad for the long term viability of our nation. It is in everyone's best interests to enable all serious, ambitious students willing to earn degrees to actually do so.
Clearly this cannot be accomplished by simply giving people money. That will never work. We need a program that is more like an expanded student loan. One where the student can pursue their short term academic goals but is still liable (to a significant degree) to repay the upfront costs over time. Our current student loan system does not accomplish this because not every household qualifies for the level of funding required for a typical 4 years degree. ( Not to mention the problem of careers such as medical where the upfront cost and time dissuades talent. )
So a simplistic free college notion is indeed impractical - it would never work. But the alternative should not be to cavalierly declare our current system as 'good enough' and do nothing. IMO of course.
It seems to work well in Germany. My great nephew graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Tu Darmstadt and it was as a foreign/international student which enjoy the same benefits as German students...Low to fee education.
Most courses are taught in English.
I will have to check that out. I suspect the German system includes mechanisms such as those I mentioned to mitigate abuse.
Was this a scholarship program?
Not a scholarship progam. It's open to all foreign students and well as all German nationals.
After graduation he was employeed by MBZ in Germany and has continued his education to obtain a masters degree.
BTW, there are some schools in the U.S. that are ''free''...Kings Point, one of the top schools in the country is free if you qualify. It's extremely difficult to get into. There engineering program is tops. Another nephew graduated from there with a degree in nuclear engineering and has gone on for a masters.
It's the Merchent Marine academy located in NY.
Looks like German education is largely publicly funded at about 5% of GDP (we are also apparently spending about 5% of our GDP on education). Assuming those facts are right, it suggests we are far less competent in this area than other nations. Need to do some more checking.
Currently there are around 300,000 foreign students studying in Germany. I believe that the German Government is trying to reach the 350,000 figure.
That has been by argument for years. Having actually lived in foreign countries and experienced their educational systems, IMO, ours is not competitive cost wise and in other ways.
Republicans are just jealous because they can't dance.
Yes I understand what she is advocating. It is naive but maybe it will evolve once she has a chance to better understand the practical realities of our nation through congressional experience.
I didn't know the Merchant Marine had an academy.
All the service academies are free to students, also, but also difficult to gain entrance.
I think I had some pretty screwed up ideas about the big picture when I was in my late 20's. My advice to her would be to only speak about that which she understands. I think she is too quick to express half-baked ideas - as if she thinks she is supposed to have all the answers - and the press is of course not forgiving. Learn to gracefully dodge awkward questions. Her comments about her (extremely easily solved) short-term housing problem is a prime example of the mouth engaged without relying upon the brain.
Probably best to let her get used to the experience of a congressperson and see what happens. If she does not turn into a partisan, power-seeking machine I will give her immediate credit even if her ideas do not materially mature.
And just like those who go after Trump on silly, trivial, pointless things like cheating at Golf, making a big deal out of a college dance video is counter-productive. If one is to complain, one should do so on issues of substance. Otherwise, making a big deal of trivial matters defuses the credibility of complaints on matters of importance. In other words, complaining about everything a politician does -over time- actually helps the politician.
Unfortunately, the "fake" voter suppression has a legal history with the Republicans...enough so that they just got off "probation" after 10 years for repeatedly getting caught suppressing votes.
Absolutely.
Thing is, what she proposes is not Democratic Socialism so the label is meaningless. Definitely judge on her ideas - not on the label.
Kings point is a bit different then the military academies. When you graduate the academy gives you a fairly nice stipend of cash to get started in life. If I remember correctly is $25 to $35 thousand dollars.
Do Merchant Marine academy grads get jobs right away?
Yes they do. There is usually a number of companies wanting to hire them. They are highly sought after employees.
That small stipend would come in handy, then. Military academy grads get assigned a billet and get their room, board, and uniforms paid for, they don't have a need for a stipend unless it's to buy a fancy car.
Essentially I was suggesting to go with what a politician actually proposes and especially with what the politician actually does and disregard how a politician sells herself.
Not from what I have seen. What she proposes is fundamentally social democracy. The only tie that I see between her actual proposals and Democratic Socialism are the areas where the USA Democratic Socialist organization uses social democracy to wedge into USA politics. Ultimately, Democratic Socialism is an alternative (indeed a polar opposite) to capitalism. At the very best she can hold Democratic Socialism as a philosophy but will be essentially powerless to act on such an initiative.
That is close to what I am suggesting: pay little attention to the labels and instead evaluate the actual proposals (and then the actual actions).
To morons - this isn't addressed to you Hal
And that is exactly what I have been suggesting.
Some folks just have to have the last word.
I suppose. But if two people actually agree on something why not just say: 'I agree' rather than put forth an illusion of disagreement?
At Kings Point the same cost are covered. Billet, room, board and uniforms. The stripend is to launch them on their way after graduation, Trout.
The MM academy is much smaller than the military schools and the classes each years are only 300. So it's a small select group that are chosen to attend the school.
No problem...
The Republican Party Emerges From Decades of Court Supervision
Yup, I can believe that. Look at how we operate ... as though we were still fat, dumb and happy. A key priority of any nation should be the intellectual and physical advancement of its next generations. Seems to me that our problem is not a lack of money for education but the competence to build an effective system. I guess improving our educational system does not score political points.
So as I noted in 4.1.12:
That is, we cannot just pass out free education here in the USA. It will be exploited as with other systems. We need a system that works based on merit. Every serious student should be supported and those who are not willing to put forth the effort lose their free higher education.
If other nations like Germany can do it, so can we. But, crucially, not by simply throwing money at the problem and expecting all is good (the standard approach here).
She didn't marry her brother. That's an unfounded accusation.
Of course Omar did. But according to the New York Times, it was only briefly, so it's okay.
What do liberals believe is the appropriate amount of time to marry a sibling?
It's the next battle in Marriage Equality!
Where's your source? Don't tell me to go look it up because I already did and didn't find anything. You made the claim, you back it up
Contrast that video with this video of how conservatives have fun:
Good gawd - those freaks have no sense of humor whatsoever unless it's twisted, degrading or demoralizing.
I just realized - those guys are from Who's Line Is It Anyway - I guess the gig was worth the money.
And liberals attacked Rove for singing!
Quick seed articles about all the mean things that were said about Rove!
Internet comments on YOUTube are the most important news item of the day!
Attacked him?
We made fun of the turdblossom. How is that attacking?
And furthermore, how is that ‘singing’?
Where's the puke emoticon when you need it?
Remember when six Iranians were arrested in Iran and whipped because they filmed this video? Sounds like conservatives would like to see that vision for America as well.
Smells like a strawman... Keep your propaganda to yourself.
Right. Because Radical Islam and Sharia law is so popular with conservatives. This is the same country BO made a deal with that allowed them nukes even if they followed it to the letter. LMFAO the Irony!
Nothing in your statement is accurate.
I watched the video in the seeded article. The whole thing.
I waited in vain to see something even remotely scandalous from or about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The video shows a group of Boston University students dancing on a rooftop. Quite innocently dancing, by the way.
I was expecting to see her humping a chimney or something, from the fuss "conservatives" are trying to make out of this.
What the fuck is wrong with conservatives?
If anything , a video like this makes me glad to know that she didnt have her nose buried in socialist textbooks all the time she was in school.
Only most of the time it would appear. Her video is cool and she is quite sexy and hot. But she is no way qualified and is unfit to be a member of House of Representatives.
But she is no way qualified and unfit to be a member of House of Representatives.
She was elected by the people, unlike the POTUS who was not elected by the people, but by a broken system, and is UNIQUELY unqualified for his position of infinitely greater consequences.
What broken system? It worked as it was designed to. Now comes word that the newly elected House is planning to get rid of EC if they can. I'd say, good luck with that.
[deleted/ taunting]
How so? Please be specific.
Nope, READ Federalist 68.
She's a liberal. That's all it takes for Greg to hate her; she could be the most articulate, intelligent woman in the world and he'd still hate her. Rather amusing when he supports a POTUS who is no way qualified and is unfit to be a member of the human race, much less our President, but there you have it.
But I bet he would do her if he had the opportunity. Not that he would.
Trump's efforts to the contrary not withstanding, we are still a democracy. (Which means of course you still have a right to express your views). In your opinion, she may not be fit to represent you and your views. However, she was elected by the people of her district to represent them. And they (not you-- unless you live in that district) are not entitled to choose who represents them.
And they chose her.
That's the way our democracy works-- if you don't understand how it works (and how people in each district get to choose who represents them-- not someone who doesn't live in their district such as you)-- I would recommend reading The U.S. Constitution
Whiners claim shit is broken when they lose.
Trump complained about the election before the results were even in. Don’t you remember when he said he would only accept the results if he won? It doesn’t get whinier than that. As Bill Maher says, Trump is nothing but a whiney little bitch.
No, because he never said that. Here's what he said:
Oh stop.
She is an elected representative. People are going to have fun at her expense. That's part of the job.
Someone should explain that to Trump.
Has Trump started listening and I missed it?
It is interesting that the people most likely to mock Trump are also those whose panties are most tightly wadded about this.
Has the Trump started listening?
It is so sad because it is true....
She won, you lost.
yeah..my money is going to be lost because of this ignorant twat.
I see you have no problem using the word "twat"
very good..do you want a gold star?
Someone is really lonely today it looks like.
When they learn how to behave maybe we can give them a gold star as well.
OOO!!!! Can I??????
sure..
Thanks, Teacher!!!!!
Your welcomed!
Trump spends 90+ million tax payer dollars a year on golf...you are already losing money, and have been since he took office.
He has added 2 trillion to the debt in 2 years... And you want to complain about losing money to one freshman?
Save the outrage.
I thought Presidents where entitled to their golf trips....at least what was the case for Obama
So you want to compare Presidential expenses to free education and health care for a country with a population of over 300 million.
Do the math.
What total BS. I guess Breitbart and Fox don't bother to point out to you just how much more Trump golfs than Obama ever did, despite lying and saying he'd be too busy to play golf if he were elected? Your avoidance of reading factual material probably also explains why you don't understand the Establishment Clause and why you aren't familiar with rulings on similar cases in the past.
good grief...the Fox and Breitbart outrage. Get a new song and dance at least.
I don't think I have ever said anything like that before. But it does seem like a likely explanation as to why your comments are so lacking in facts and so full of hypocrisy.
[deleted]
Trump golfed more in his first 6 months than Obama did in his first 4 years. Again, save the fake outrage...and all that after trump said he would be too busy working to go golfing... Weird that the outrage over presidential golf trips stopped the minute trump took office.....just like complaining about the debt....DAILY.
Where you this angered over Obama golfing? Golf seems to be a big deal to you. I would be more worried about implementing more government programs that we can not pay for and sustain.
Like massive tax cuts for corporations and the uberwealthy ?
Well that statements demonstrates you do not understand the rapid job growth since Trump was elected President and the effects of the tax cuts.
Meanwhile the deficit is going through the roof, the middle class is circling the drain and a vast number of the new jobs are low wage service jobs that have little if anything to do with new manufacturing that trump likes to tout.
Your Business Investors Daily article tries to justify the tax cuts for the uberwealthy by the uberwealthy.
Why do you not want your fellow Americans to be employed? I guess only certain jobs are acceptable to you. People are working and contributing ....only someone with a chip on their shoulder would have a problem with it.
Do you have more than regurgitating the Democrat talking points?
A writer for Business Investor Daily is certainly more informed on the effects of the tax cuts than you.
You know this how ?
Did you know that there are 435 members of the Hiouse? Do you actually believe that they can be totally controlled by one person-- and that person being a newbie?
(Well, apparently you do. Heck you're entitled to your opinion! LOL
False.
Federal taxes are not the only taxes people pay. There are services, State and Local taxes too. These always increase. If you tell me that yours have not--I will tell you to your face that I do not believe you.
GOP tax cuts always cost the Middle Class more money. Always.
My local taxes have not increased. They never have. I will likely pay more Federal taxes for 2018 because of the deduction limits. The difference will be small though. My extra taxes will help pay for the middle class and lower tax cuts.
So true. They don't understand that larger incomes lead to larger tax burdens.
Less federal money to the states. The states have to get it from somewhere. [Deleted]
Where do you live? I live in Ohio. Our State and Local taxes have doubled in the last ten years and the services have declined. Our auto tags ten years ago were $24. I just got mine this month...……$85.50. Our new governor, Dewine, has hinted that a 10% increase is being considered and the Statehouse has indicated they will debate it.
Where do you live? What state?
Is making up fake state tax increased another conspiracy theory for you? My local taxes are unchanged. Period.
I live in SC. Our income tax has been 7% as long as I have lived here. My property taxes have remained unchanged. We had a 2 cent gas tax increase recently but I did not notice it. Taxes in 2019 may rise slightly if the state government does not adjust the personal exemption.
Bottom line is that I only pay more taxes each year to my state because I make more money each year.
Mine haven't gone up but several cities by me have. 34% millage and 14% school tax.
Of course that is just city, as they are going bankrupt.
I'm self-employed so it's not applicable to me.
Where do you live? What state?
You wanna know what's really sad??? This person, a former bartender (nothing against bartenders - I was one for five years), is just now starting her "career" at $174,000 a year to "have to" work 179 days a year. That pretty much equals $972.07 a day or $81.00 an hour for a 12 hour day.
Wanna bet, if she makes it five years, she will be a millionaire. Not too shabby going from being unemployed to having no place to live when she started her new job.
Don't like it? Try to get their salaries lowered. She got elected, fair and square. She's way too far left for my taste, but I have nothing against her youth. We need a mix of ages in Congress. And Trump's lack of experience is apparently just fine with you ... at least she, unlike Trump, might grow into her job and accept reality.
I call her smart in that she got herself elected to a job that only requires her to work 179 days a year and pays her $174,000 a year.
There is that.
She's also tapped into the great Bernie Sanders tradition, where you can make a long-term career of pretending to be an idiot who continually proposes wildly implausible nonsense...as long as you pander to idiots on one extreme or the other.
Well hell 1st, that would be over three weeks MORE than Ryan's 2018 House unless you want to count the 2 MINUTE pro forma sessions that only one Congressman attends...
Does that apply to her Republican colleagues?

Why do you think Democrats are like that-- but Republicans never are.
Could it be that Republicans are so superior because of better genetics?
(Think about it...)
Better genetics? Or...the sewn into the political fabric the 'power of the lobby' is better cultivated and utilized by republicans because the republicans are better suited to act on the agendas of the Lobby Cartels?
Most people understand that Representatives also work when they are home. Most people...
Did you ask 1st if he understood that? He was the one that cited the 179 days you know...
Totally unfair to contradict the Trump and as to ( Who is really going to pay for that effen Wall!"
Then they asked me how I was going to pay for my crazy idea and I said "That's the Government's problem".
Don't you find it ironic that that statement could actually apply to Trump?
Treasury: Budget deficit swells under Trump to largest in 6 years
President Donald Trump’s first full fiscal year in office has produced the nation’s largest budget shortfall in six years, according to Treasury Department data released Monday.
AOC surely must scare the bejeebus out of rightwingers the way she triggers them...
Nah. They're excited. She is the left's answer to Christine O'Donnell.
O'Donnell never ever won an election but Occasio-Cortez did...
Which makes it even more embarrassing for Democrats.
Lol!
She triggers nobody. Obviously you don't know what a triggered snowflake is.
Seem to me it is all the Anti Trump people on this thread upset over a fake story.
Where is the information on the upset conservatives about her dancing other than a fucking headline?
This is just more proof on how a lot of the left gets fed fake news bullshit and eats it up.
Did anyone hear the words in the song? "Not 'easily' offended …" I sincerely hope many that are watching the video are actually listening!!!
See the song was not the original song they were dancing to, it was made up to mock her.
[deleted]
[deleted..] the original video and song is embedded in the above article, here is the words to the chorus
A Lisztomania
Think less but see it grow
Like a riot like a riot oh
Not easily offended
Know how to let it go
From the mess to the masses
DUH! .. and to think you were voted up... [shaking head]
[Removed]
HA! .. priceless
If you say so dear
Partisan politics is so slimy. Truth is lost to 'win at any cost'.
Yup. I'm not a fan of Ocasio-Cortez. I think she has no idea how much many of her ideas are likely to cost, or how government is going to pay those costs.
But tearing into her over this video is just stupid.
Do political battle over the issues. Maybe both sides could learn something.
You're probably right, but keep in mind that she will learn. She will also NEVER claim that Mexico will pay for it.
I do.
Yup. I'm not a fan of Ocasio-Cortez. I think she has no idea how much many of her ideas are likely to cost, or how government is going to pay those costs.
Actually she reminds me of myself at that age. Very idealistic. Very noble intentions. And very naive. (And BTW I was a committed Socialist then-- I thought is was the answer to the world's problems). Over time I changed.
Will she?
Only time will tell.
A well known quote (this variation is often attributed to Winston Churchill but there's some disagreement as to whether or not it was Churchill who actually said it):
Anyone who was not a Socialist at 20 years of age had no heart, while anyone who was still a Socialist at 40 had no head.
The earliest known citation points to Anselme Batbie as the creator of this saying. Yet, the context indicated that Edmund Burke provided the inspiration for Batbie’s words. I've not yet located this expression in the writings of Burke, and it is possible that Burke’s sometimes perplexing political behavior inspired the saying and not his words.
It has been attributed to many many others in various forms since....
It has been attributed to many many others in various forms since....
For many well-known quotes, I know who said them. But when I don't I google them to check.
I have been surprised at how many well known sayings are commonly attributed to someone who either never said it-- or was one in a long line of people quoting someone who said it before them...who were also quoting someone...etc.
Interesting how many are falsely attributed...
We are going to see the younger generations get into politics more and more.
The old guard will not be around forever.
We are only going to see more of this as the younger generations grew up in a digital age.
What I learned from the video was that some white folks really can dance.
Congresswoman O'Casio-Cortez is of purely Puerto Rican descent. As far as I can tell, all Puerto Ricans dance well. Just guessing considering her heritage and brown eyed good looks I bet she is at least significantly of native or indigenous blood and nobody ever said Natives cannot dance. Did they? Besides that, who are you calling white anyway? Them is fighting words in Da Bronx. Take it from someone who knows her, O'Casio-Cortez will go far. She is smarter than all the throwbacks on the right know yet. She is going to impress. You'll see...
I guess my comment went over your head JBB. Perhaps you might want to check that saying out...Kinda like ''White men can't jump''....You did see some white folks that were pretty good dancers in the video didn't you?
Ms. Cortez is Puerto Rican, (it's quite obvious to me that she isn't white) the indigenous people of PR are the Taino's and I yet to see her claim that heritage.
I have nothing against Ms. Cortez at all, being 100% indigenous myself I wasn't making fun of her and I'm a damn good dancer. It's in the blood, chimook.
Hope that clears it up for you.
Gakina Awiiya.
Yup.
Its a racial thang!
And all dem Nigrahs got natural rhythm...!

First off, nothing went over my head. I was merely making the gentle point that Congresswoman O'Casio-Cortez, who just so happens to be my new Representative in Congress, would probably not identify as "white" which anyone reading your comment #14 could reasonably understand you to have implied. Oh, and since nobody seems to be able to recognize satire around here, tell Krish I was being a smart ass. It was not me who brought race into this thread. It was you when you started the thread referencing that olde "white guys can't dance" meme. Re-read comments 14 and 14.1 and then get back to me. As for the rest of the other bullshit above? Well, I cannot reply within the rules around here. I will say it makes me wonder why I even bother. Really, I am disgusted. Grumble Grumble Grumble.
Alexandria O'casio-Cortez is being demonized by the far righties around here exactly because of who she is and who she represents. She represents me. Don't like her? I don't care! We love her up here in The Bronx. Did you know The Bronx is the only city with "The" in its name?
I was being sarcastic first in response to that olde untrue and yes, racist meme about white people not being able to dance. Why heck! I am kinda whitish and I can dance all three kinds of white people dancing, County, Western and Square. See how that works? Or, must I put a big /S after ever wiseass remark I make? I guess you don't know me at all. Sometimes I wonder. This whole thing stinks. Thanks, /S...
Good morning JBB, hope that you've had you coffee this morning so you can quit grumbling.
Just to clairfy a couple of things. My comment re ''white dancing'' was a reference to what you quoted about ''white men can't dance'' I didn't put the /s tag on it since I figured that everyone would get it.
Come on, as much as Ms Cortez has been on TV I would assume that most would know that she isn't white or by her name if nothing else.
As I stated in my prior comment, I have nothing against Ms. Cortez and wish her success in her postion as congresswoman representing your district.
I'm off to have a little ''black water medicine''. That's what us indigenous folks call coffee.
P.S. I was going to tell Krish, but I see that you already did.
Saying white people can't dance is logically equivalent to saying African people can't speak or Asians can't eat, etc. Everyone dances. A Polish folk dance is dancing just as much as the Electric Bugaloo or the Samba is, it just looks a little different.
Anyway, I still have a vivid memory of a block party at one of my friend's house in the mid 90's. The Macarena was the big rage that summer, and when night fell and the DJ came on, and the wine and beer was in bloom, about 50 white people made their way under the street lights and all did the macarena together. And yeah they were all white people, and yes, they were dancing.
I can't see how you quoted or even referenced me in your comment #14.
I didn't quote or reference you in 14....
In case you have not noticed, rightwingers demonizing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is blowing up in rightwinger's faces. Barely sworn in, she has the rightwingers all agitated and flustered. Brilliant, beautiful and talented Ocasio-Cortez already has the damn gop running scared. Alex from the Bronx has the establishment gop all flustered. I wonder why out of 355 members of Congress the youngest, a young freshman Latina from The Bronx, has such powerful men shaking in their Gucci loafers? Because she represents the future and not the past. Viva Alexandria!
Yes, that was my point. So, what is the problem? Am I missing something?
The hilarity being had is everyone laughing at rightwinger's false outrage...
This is another example of the left running articles saying the right is upset about …….blah blah blah.
The right doesn't have to make shit up on this simpleton. She supplies the material herself.
Really?
So did she impress you with her vast knowledge?
I just loved this dingbat statement, then after she was pressed for her stance she just spewed out of her mouth on Israel.
She can't even hold a stance for 5 minutes this dingbat is like a leaf blowing in the wind.
And contrary to the fact that the middle class is growing Miss I will spew anything out of my mouth to impress the ignorant sheeple says...
And it appears she learned how to babble like hillaryious Hillary.
The woman is a joke but yeah she is the new face of the Democrat party as you said.
I met the Congresswoman. She is more articulate than your comments...
A joke? No wonder young Americans mostly all hate the goddamn gop.
Keep it up so the gop will get even less of the youth and minority vote.
Ridicule O'casio-Cortez all you want. It makes you seem out of touch...
Citations or just more left wing bullshit backed up by feelings?
Keep what up? posting the dingbats own words that the goobers fawn over?
That's funny I post her own statements that show that this dingbat lives in her own little fantasy world and you want to claim I'm out of touch? LMFAOAU
Lets see how Anderson "fake news" Cooper handled this dingbat in his interview. I'm sure it was difficult not to make her look like a ill informed idiot every time she opened her mouth.
The truth hurts.
Let's turn that around shall we?
Another example of the right running articles saying the left if upset about....blah, blah, blah
Understandable seeing you appear to be uncapable of originality.
So you want to Jump in maybe you want to try to back up this fake news article. Where is the article of the upset conservatives other than a headline that people are fawning over.
have fun...
When it comes to white people dancing, it's all about the instrument.
Well, it is US Congresswoman Alexandria O'Casio-Cortez to you wingers now...
Sure, winger. And Associate Justice Kavanaugh. We'll see who has more of an impact...
He won't be for long
He will be for life. You don't seem to understand how that works.
I LIKE BEER
Oh, I'm sure he'll make a hell of an impact.
Sure the video is dumb as fuck, but so what? Trump had one of the shittiest shows on TV and managed to get elected president.
The video wasn't dumb. And Trump's show was crappy. And he wasn't 'elected.' Something happened. As a man and as a president the Trump is illegitimate.
Delusions aside, Trump was clearly elected President. In other news, the moon landings were not faked, 9/11 was not an inside job, and chemtrails are not real.
I will politely disagree. As far as the chemtrails I do not know. Maybe the Russians had a 'chemical agent' in them to cause a contamination of MAGA Brain?
Yep. "I've got the biggest brain." And "Kim Jung Un sends me love letters." Yep. [deleted] Pretending my arse.
Well, it's a free country. You are able to believe in whatever conspiracy theories you want to.
Caravans too, right?
It was as stupid as Lizzy Warren posting herself pretending to drink a beer on Twitter.
I guess the ‘Warren is a crony capitalist’ narrative didn’t pan out for you, so you’ve move on to more impactful accusations? Lol. She terrifies you, obviously.
You see they captured a Aunt jemima eating a watermelon figurine behind her in her home?
Fauxahontas the champion of the left. lmao
Lol - you respond with a fringe opinion piece? Yeah - that Warren sure is crony capitalist! Some guy said so!
AOC does a great Ally Sheedy, but the readhead is no Molly Ringwald.
