Native Twitter has gone ablaze as a Native American elder singing the AIM Song in Washington DC during the Indigenous Peoples March was ridiculed, taunted and mocked by a group of non-Native youth.

The video, which was posted by YouTube account holder KC NOLAND, was also screen captured and shared on other social media accounts with views shortly gaining tens of thousands of views.

Different servers. Time outs are net errors from over activity. (servers can't handle the load)

Host errors are site errors, the server has either quit functioning or DNS has blocked requests cause of the load on the network....

The delay gets so bad that what is in the queue still get out so some might get parts of the site but cant respond to anything consistently...

Much like a DDoS attack.

I'm having no problems navigating the ICT site.....

Not a surprise to me at all.

Me neither. I understand that they do not represent the way all Americans feel toward Native Americans, but, they do represent a large number of them.

Trump is indeed a cancer on our country, as in the year 2019, he is promoting divisiveness and hatred in our country of Native Americans and other ethnic peoples.

Of course, his rabid puppets across the country will defend anything he does or promotes, no matter how low, immoral or disgusting it may be. However, they are becoming fewer and fewer as Trump's presidency goes on and he becomes more and more arrogant, dictatorial and rabid. He is even losing support of many among his own rank and file who are turning against him or choosing to distance themselves from him to save their own political lives, or simply choosing to walk away from it all as the stench of his taint on their party has become too strong, and they can no longer support what their party has become.

Those here who adamantly support him no matter what are a testament to his power of persuasion. There are many other very qualified and decent Republicans who could do a far better job from the Oval office, but, they were cast aside in favor of the least fit candidate who will bring shame to their party for years to come, and our country a well.

Diversity isn't one that is on their agenda.

Acceptance of diversity among people has never been on the Catholic Church's agenda. Certainly not Native Americans. Their own history of how they dealt with Native Americans since the time they brought their Catholic religion to the shores of America is testament to that fact.

So it is no surprise that those being taught in their schools are bereft respect and acceptance of diverse peoples who also not only share our country, but, have given their lives over the centuries in service to our country.

My own opinion.

Dear Friend SMAAB: There are always reasons to be depressed and skeptical.

Going on six thousand years, there have always been those who want to kill off Jews and Judaism.

If not by the sin of the sword (physical extermination), then by missionary murder (the Diecide of slaughtering off our souls).

They do their damage, in each and every generation.

That is our Akidah (Binding of Isaac) test.

Yet we survive, endure and thrive.

Now as never before.

There is always reason for optimism.

As we keep our end of the eternal covenant, so it and its Author has kept us.

Our enemies, sooner or later wind up forgotten footnotes in the dustbin of history.

There is always reason for optimism.

SMAAB: Keep your faith, howsoever the spirit has moved you.

Fight the good fight.

When there is sincere repentance and atonement; help, forgive and teach by example.

Live life most fully, abundantly, ethically, wisely and humanely in your time.

The future will take care of itself, as long as we prevail while we can.

Keep a good thought.

I do for you and us all.

Enoch.

Update :

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington, along with the school, acknowledged the situation Saturday afternoon, saying the matter is being investigated.

Laura Keener, of the diocese, released the following statement:

"We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18, after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C. We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person.

"The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion. We know this incident also has tainted the entire witness of the March for Life and express our most sincere apologies to all those who attended the March and all those who support the pro-life movement."

It's been a long slow downhill slide but seems to have escalated more as time has gone on. Personally I think a lot of it is to be blamed on the modern world itself, as technology has advanced and everyone is much more connected to everyone and everything  we all seem to want what we all want even more individually which makes cooperative efforts even more difficult.

America kind of depends on cooperation to function at its best, thus where we find our self today. as you put it, a mess.

I am mixed on the advancements myself, I like whats good (of course) but dislike wants bad (ofcourse) but I honestly think I'd rather have the whole package than not.

I feel fortunate in that I've always been glad of where and when I was born. I like seeing the advancements happening so rapidly because after all we as an individual are only here but a speck of time.

LOL Maybe I just get bored easily....lol

and I'm so happy and consider myself lucky to have been born here in the USA.  I very much am grateful and appreciative of the freedoms and opportunities we have here, not to mention the over all standard of living. I'v e worked hard all my life but was careful with my earnings for enough I retired doing fine at a decent health and age so I'm sure not bitchin.

I've grown to learn to be able to deal with the fact that in life you get the bad with the good. In order to have the good, the bad is a part of the package.

I deal with reality pretty well, but I dislike non reality and people who push the existence of it. especially for their own benefit (s).

People always use any "tool ' for both, Good and bad the computer age is no different in that aspect, We shall survive, thrive and procreate yet another day at least.

Dr,   Reverend,  whatever you are? What evil was in front of that boy? It was someone playing a small drum and singing.

True.  Let’s hope this crowd isn’t too representative of their generation.  I’ve seen no evidence that any of the 200 or so kids in this crowd were disappointed in the behavior of their peers.  I suppose the number of MAGA hats explains that.  I bet most of these kids have no idea what’s happening in the world, or even in this country.

Yes.

I'd say that the Catholic school that organized their trip should be doing some serious soul-searching!

Sorry to say I dont think this is a generational problem. It's an attitude problem ! Being passed down.

Like all perspectives, it depends on what you see and when you start seeing it.

One group came to participate in a legally approved event.

Another group came to disrupt and harass those different than them including a 3rd group.

Nathan, a member of the 1st group of legal participants, got between groups 2 and 3 breaking up that tension.

Sounds like Nathan did the right thing, irrespective of the disruptive, anti-social behavior of group 2.

My understanding is that the kids were there because chaperones had directed the that location to wait for a bus. I don't see evidence of them trying to disrupt anyone else's event.

Guy1 is 70; Guy2 is 16. In any civilized society, Guy2 gives way automatically, and there's no incident at all.

Good manners are all that's needed.

Oh, wait... the kid has a MAGA hat, so no manners at all, particularly toward a brown man...

Guy1 is 70

And has a history of being a victim.

He was scared for his life, sniff sniff, all them teenagers he walked into the middle of must have been terrifying.

I like when he is 1st walking up there and the black isrealites or whatever they call themselves are pointing at the kids and yelling go get them.

How dare they wait for a bus in a public area and wear MAGA hats.

Gives way to what? I see no evidence that Phillips is trying to go anywhere other than where he is - i.e. standing in front of a kid and beating a drum in his face. He's a bully.

They aren't in a doorway or a narrow corridor; they're outside. The kid didn't step in front of the old man. The old man walked up to him directly. It would have been very easy to simply pass him by. No, the old man has no course he is trying to pursue. There is no "way" to be given.

Good manners are all that's needed.

This kid is being extremely well-mannered. If some guy walked up to me beating a drum in my face, I'd probably snatch it and break it over my knee.
