SPLC Hasn’t Removed False Tweet About Jussie Smollett Hate Hoax

The dastardly Southern Poverty Law Center has allowed a Tweet about the Jussie Smollett hate hoax to remain live, despite the fact that the Tweet’s content has now been debunked.
“Hate crimes — especially against LGBTQ+ and black people — are increasing. Actor Jussie Smollett, who is both black and gay, was attacked by two men who allegedly shouted, ‘This is MAGA country!’ after they beat him and put a rope around his neck,” the Tweet said, linking to a GQ article.
We now know, after a tremendous amount of pubic resources were wasted investigating the hoax, that the Smollett incident was not a hate crime against an LGBT or black person, but rather a con perpetrated by Smollett himself, according to prosecutors .
He was charged with 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct after his two “attackers,” Nigerian brothers and fellow “Empire” cast members, admitted that they were paid by Smollett to perpetrate the “attack.”
A responsible organization would remove such misinformation, and apologize for misleading the public. But the Southern Poverty Law Center, which both profits from and traffics in hate, is not a responsible organization.
Their unstated mission is to work with the mainstream press and Silicon Valley tech companies to label mainstream conservatism as “hateful,” and de-platform the alleged “haters.”
To that end, the Smollett lie remains.

They are a dishonest hate group and this is just more evidence.
The SPLC is nothing more than a terrorist inspiring hate group that has no redeeming value and whose partisan hate lists are to be ignored and worked around. It is they who are motivated by hate and profit for their founder. They are the definition of hate.
I called them, they are taking it down pronto.
Really? They should have long ago. Have they actually done so? /s
Just checking to make sure you have a sense of humor, glad that you do
Well I am glad everyone thinks it's funny
because it's not true, at least as of this posting. Where is the link to the tweet?
There is no link to the tweet about Smollett on January 31 ( now ) because there is none to see.
The original tweet about Smollett on January 30 is still there.
Here is the GQ story, with updates, admissions of error, etc.
My sense of humor is fine but ends with what I want to see happen to that vile organization.
The SPLC is the site that should be banned here instead of the Christian and conservative Targets 🎯 of their biased hate and bigotry.
....While little is known about its actual transfers to offshore entities, in 2017 the Washington Free Beacon discovered foreign forms from the group that showed a small fraction of its previous transactions to a number of entities located in the Cayman Islands . Those foreign forms are not required to be publicly disclosed by the SPLC and are the only known forms showing the nature of its transfers to offshore entities. The SPLC also has interests in Bermuda and the British Virgin Islands.
In addition to the $121 million now in non-U.S. equities, the far-left organization reported $91 million in U.S. public equity funds. Its U.S. and non-U.S. equities include publicly traded stocks of domestic and international corporations. The $92 million the group had tied up in U.S. public equity funds last year was $16 million more than it had the year before.
The SPLC also had $60 million in private equity funds, or investments in buyouts, venture capital, and distressed companies while another $24 million was in real asset funds, which include investments in real estate and natural resources such as oil, gas, and commodities, according to its forms.
One new development on its 2018 financial statements is the formation of another entity tied to the organization.
According to the audited financial statement, the SPLC formed an Action Fund in June 2018, which is consolidated since the SPLC has "both an economic interest in the Action Fund and control of the Action Fund through a majority voting interest in its governing board."
The SPLC's Action Fund filed an application for tax exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, or that of a "social welfare" group. The Action Fund allows the group "greater flexibility" to engage in "legislative battles at every level of government" and to support "critical ballot initiatives."
The SPLC did not respond to a request for comment on its most recent financial statements by press time.
Last year, the Daily Caller reported the SPLC partnered with tech giants such as Amazon, Facebook, Google, and Twitter to help the companies determine who are "hate groups." PayPal had also partnered with the SPLC to help determine who should be "blacklisted" from their company.
The SPLC has come under fire for lumping in mainstream conservative groups, such as the Family Research Council, into categories with actual "hate groups" such as the Ku Klux Klan.
Dozens of organizations contemplated suing the SPLC over its hate group designations after the SPLC had entered into a $3 million settlement with Maajid Nawaz, a Muslim reformer, after including him in its 2016 "Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists."
Additionally, a lawsuit was later filed against the SPLC alleging that the nonprofit runs an "illegal racket to silence political opponents."....
...and the heritage Foundation, a self described think tank, which produces nothing physically, has net assets of $$241 million.
Did you have a point other than to slam the SPLC again,
or do you just want to cut & paste other peoples opinions endlessly?
Turn the other cheek, brother.
LEFT-CENTER BIAS
These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.
Factual Reporting: HIGH
Notes: The Southern Poverty Law Center is an American nonprofit legal advocacy organization specializing in civil rights and public interest litigation. It is noted for its legal victories against white supremacist groups and its legal representation for victims of hate groups. The SPLC also classifies and lists hate groups—organizations that in its opinion “attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics. The SPLC has been accused of having a far left bias by hate groups and other questionable far right sources. We rate SPLC left-center in bias through reporting choices. (8/23/2016) Updated (D. Van Zandt 4/26/2017)
That it’s left center in their system only proves the bigotry and bias of the rating source. There is nothing fair honest or objective about that site. The groups that question the SPLC are mainstream conservative and mainstream Protestant Christian organizations. I am as an individual a mix of all that are in groups 8-11 of my other seed. I stand with most all those groups listed there and proudly so. The SPLC is a vile and evil organization that had to fire their evil founder and hire an outside organization to clean up after the scandal that is their founder.
you forgot to add
"In my humble opinion"
I forgot nothing. Since they were my words and not quoted from anyone else it was only obvious that it is my opinion. Except for the firing of SPLC founder Dees and the hiring of an outside auditing organization. That’s fact.
...One of the most prominent groups advocating for stricter immigration went to court Wednesday to demand a judge order the Southern Poverty Law Center to stop labeling it a “hate group,” accusing the self-described watchdog of running an illegal racket to silence political opponents.
The Center for Immigration Studies says the SPLC ’s accusations that it is racist and anti-immigrant are wrong and have cost the nonprofit support and financial backing by scaring people away from doing business with the center.
The center brought its challenge to U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by filing a civil complaint under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act against SPLC President Richard Cohen and Heidi Beirich, who runs the group’s Hatewatch blog.
Mark Krikorian, the Center for Immigration Studies executive director, says his organization doesn’t meet the SPLC ’s definition of a hate group and the Alabama-based watchdog knows it but persists anyway — which he said was evidence of the racket.
“ SPLC and its leaders have every right to oppose our work on immigration, but they do not have the right to label us a hate group and suggest we are racists,” he said. “The Center for Immigration Studies is fighting back against the SPLC smear campaign and its attempt to stifle debate through intimidation and name-calling.”
The Center for Immigration Studies is not the only group to protest the SPLC ’s profligate use of the hate tag, but it appears to be the first to mount a challenge under RICO, a law that is usually associated with the FBI’s anti-mob efforts...
Oh well, freedom of speech again......
unless you disagree, right?
What the SPLC is doing is not freedom of speech at all. It is engaging in defamation of character, libel, and slander against a variety of groups in a RICO level conspiracy to attempt to destroy us.
By, "Us", do you mean all the hate groups identified/certified by the SPLC?
The fascist bigots that are the entire SPLC identify and certify nothing. Being a conservative and or Christian and called a hate group by them is a badge of honor. I proudly am and stand by all that they target in the above groups. I still am not surprised that Dees tried to use a sex toy on his step daughter by one of his five wives. Now is the time to clean out that entire immoral and corrupt scum of an organization.
I don't trust any organization that's name sounds like it wants to use the law to make Southerners poor
Me either. I don’t trust them at all.
LoL !
I do have sheer and utter contempt for them and most everyone associated with them. They are domestic enemy #1.
Well the whole premise of the seed is that the SPLC did not take down an incorrect tweet.
But either they have or the above tweet is a photo shopped fake.
Perhaps they took it down after this article embarrassed them into doing so? Then we can move on to my other seeds about how they fired their founder and hired an outside group to clean up the mess that they are or the other one that describes the stupidity of their hate criteria for many groups and shows how they manipulate and exaggerate the size and scope of the hate issue in our great country.

This is the kind of nasty content that makes everyone associated with it dirty...
And yes, I loath it that I gave it this much attention. Hyperbolic Hate On Parade!
Next? The Anti-Defamation Liague? The ACLU? The Human Rights Campaign?
When there is nobody left to identify evil don't be surprised that evil wii prevail...
It is the SPLC that is the identified evil here.
That giant sucking sound is the last advertisers pulling out. Even the olde hookers...
Anyone else get come-ons from olde prostitutes on their ad feed? Or, is it just me?
Is that what is happening to the SPLC? Did corrupt Cohen sacrifice Dees and hire an investigative cleanup team of outsiders to keep the contributions and advertisers coming on board there? Isn’t the scandal that is the SPLC even slightly embarrassing to its ideological soulmates?
