A New Level Of Stupid

Former Republican congressman David Jolley appeared on Nicole Wallace's television show this afternoon and wondered if Trump and his administration want to lose the presidential election, and more, in 2020. Jolley said that "xing out" (ending all funding for) federal government support for the Special Olympics was a step toward losing the election next year.
We know Trump is stupid, and have to assume many of his advisers are too. The 18 million dollars that the federal government provides to the Special Olympics is a relative pittance to the federal budget , but a goldmine to anti-Trump politicians.
Because Trump owns Republican office holders lock stock and barrel, everyday run of the mill congressmen and senators will have to defend taking support away from disabled children. For what? Because Trump wants to act like a king? Disaster is looming for this silly party, thank god.
He also has very recently said he wants to end aid to disaster ravaged Puerto Rico and said he wants to end Obamacare entirely. Neither of those policies are popular with the voting public.
I thought that the Trump administration just wanted to lower the level of support for the Special Olympics, but it turns out that they want to end it entirely.
That will make nice talking points in the campaign to end trumpism.

Keep these brainstorms coming Mr President*.
It's mind boggling that the administration can spend over $700 billion on defense but can't spend $18 million on special kids. And they are special. I have two great grand kids that are special and love them dearly. Their smiles can light up your day in a heartbeat.
We could end a few subsidies to corporations that keep posting profits in the hundreds of millions year after year.
Perhaps Trump is such a narcissist he can't stand watching people with disabilities outperform him physically in virtually every category. Trump has always reminded me of Eric Cartman from Southpark, this seems like something he would do...
I volunteered for the AHRC for over 30 years, starting when I was age 12, and I can't begin to tell you the good that comes from the Special Olympics. In government spending, 18 million is a drop in the bucket to help these children and young adults have satisfaction in what they can achieve. Why don't we do this? Deduct the pay from everyone in Congress, who don't show up every day.
The cost of one starboard wing from a F-35A should more than cover the cost of the these kids participation in the Special Olympics.
Three of trmp's trips to Mar-A-Lago would pay for it
Volunteers and donations must be down !
The "Special Olympics isn't a "Requirement" of "Government" to worry about !
It's a "People" issue !
