AG Barr believes Obama spied, new probe coming?

With Attorney General William Barr concluding that special counsel Robert Mueller’s report does not call for a probe on President Donald Trump over his alleged Russian collusion, the president and Vice President Mike Pence are encouraging Barr bar to investigate the Obama administration based on the AG’s belief that the former president spied on Trumps’ 2016 campaign.

The new probe would seek evidence uncovering the origins of Democrats’ collusion allegations against the president that started during Obama’s last year in the White House as Trump was campaigning for his White House bid.

Let’s get to the bottom of the lie

Nearly four years after Trump’s highly contested and attacked presidential run in the 2016 election, his 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, is eager to expose the perpetrators behind the debunked collusion hoax.

“President Trump has been fully and completely exonerated, yet again,” Parscale proclaimed in a statement he issued Thursday, according to WND . “Now, the tables have turned, and it’s time to investigate the liars who instigated this sham investigation into President Trump – motivated by political retribution and based on no evidence whatsoever.”

He said the verdict should be a no-brainer, with things already stacking up against the former president and his administration.

“[There is] simply no denying that ‘spying did occur’ on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election, as Attorney General Barr himself noted in testimony before Congress,” Parscale asserted. “Barr went on to testify that there was a ‘failure among a group of leaders there at the upper echelon [of the FBI]… [and] I feel I have an obligation to make sure that government power is not abused.’ Now that the collusion and obstruction conspiracy theories have been exposed for the pathetic hoaxes they always were, the Obama-era DOJ and FBI must answer for their misdeeds and the scam that they perpetrated against the American people. Justice will be served.”

A vote of confidence for the president and against Obama and his former White House staff was also registered by Pence.

“[Thursday’s release of the special counsel’s report] confirms what the president and I have said since day one: There was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and there was no obstruction of justice,” Pence insisted, according to WND. “After two years of investigation – conducted with the full cooperation of this administration that involved hundreds of witness interviews and millions of pages of documents – the American people can see for themselves: no collusion, no obstruction.”

The devout Christian VP is eager that the truth will be uncovered to expose the lies meant to undermine Trump’s loyalty to the United States – and credibility as president.

“Now that the special counsel investigation is completed, the American people have a right to know whether the initial investigation was in keeping with long-standing Justice Department standards – or even lawful at all,” Pence contended. “We must never allow our justice system to be exploited in pursuit of a political agenda.”

He sees the revealing of truth as confirmation to skeptics of Trump’s loyalty to America – and of his dedication to his country.

“[While many Democrats] will cling to discredited allegations, the American people can be confident President Trump and I will continue to focus where we always have – on advancing an agenda that’s making our nation stronger, safer and more secure,” Pence added.

The Trump 2020 presidential campaign released a message to the American people after the president was essentially acquitted of the Democrats’ accusations of being a traitor to the country – allegations that have resounded through the mainstream media over the past several years.

“[President Trump has been found innocent – despite Democrats] issuing 2,800 subpoenas and 500 search warrants, interviewing 500 witnesses, employing 40 FBI agents and 19 lawyers, and spending tens of millions of taxpayer dollars,.” the campaign statement reads, according to WND. “Democrats took us on a frantic, chaotic, conspiracy-laden roller coaster for two years, alleging wrongdoing where there was none. But the verdict stands: no collusion, no obstruction, no wrongdoing, no crimes and an innocent president who has continued his relentless work for the American people.”

No doubt about it

It was announced on social media that when Barr got together with Sen. Jeanne Sheehan and other senators for a hearing last week, he announced his suspicions of Obama’s spying conspiracy against Trump when he ran for the presidency.

“@SenatorShaheen asks Barr about reports he’s launched an investigation into officials who investigated Trump,” Aaron Rupar tweeted April 10 . “’I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal,’ he says, echoing baseless right-win conspiracy theories. ‘I think spying did occur.’ Shaheen is left speechless.”

An Obama probe is exactly what conservative talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh predicted – since the confirmation of the new AG.

“This is something that I was confident was gonna happen when Barr was confirmed,” Limbaugh pointed out Thursday, according to WND. “He knows there was spying. He knows who the spies were. He knows who the informants were who were planted in the Trump campaign.”

He impressed that if anyone seeks justice and wants to bring the truth to light, it’s Barr.

“We finally got the guy who’s gonna dig into this,” Limbaugh continued. “This guy cares about the judicial system. … He understands exactly what happened here – as we all do.”

He expressed relief that the former heads of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) will be brought to justice for their collaboration to bring down a Republican.

“They’re quaking in their boots in the homes of [James] Comey and [Andrew] McCabe and [John] Brennan,” the outspoken conservative personality anticipated. “Any investigation that is worth its weight in salt is going to reveal media complicity.”

The collusion charges against the president are finally coming to a close.

“The Russia probe started by the FBI and DOJ turned into special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Trump’s campaign, and he concluded there was no collusion,” WND recapped. “What is already known is that the Mueller probe was sparked by Democratic operatives in the former administration. Justice Department and FBI officials took an opposition research document funded partly by Hillary Clinton and used its ‘salacious’ and ‘unverified’ claims as court evidence to obtain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. It was the Obama administration simply weaponizing the government against a political opponent, critics charged.”

Limbaugh sent out a warning to those involved in the collusion probe.

“If these people aren’t careful, they’re gonna get exactly what they don’t want,” Limbaugh stressed. “They’re gonna get a full-fledged investigation into how this happened, who was behind it, who all knew about it.”

Not turning a blind eye …

When asked at the hearing about his intentions of reviewing the investigation, Barr was very up-front.

At the April 10 hearing, Barr was asked why the review of the investigation was being done.

“For the same reason we’re worried about foreign influence in elections,” the AG answered at the April 10 hearing. “We want to make sure that during … I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal – a big deal. The generation I grew up in – which was the Vietnam war period – people were all concerned about spying on anti-war people and so forth by the government. There were a lot of rules put in place to make sure there’s an adequate basis before our law enforcement agencies get involve in political surveillance. I’m not suggesting that those rules were violated, but I think it’s important to look at that, and I’m not just talking about the FBI necessarily – but intelligence agencies, more broadly.”

Barr’s response was followed up by yet another question.

“You’re not suggesting though, that spying occurred?” they inquired at the hearing.

He then gave his take on the information he had already perused.

“I don’t … well … I guess you could … I think spying did occur,” Barr offered as the Senate chamber went completely silent. “Yes, I think spying did occur.”

Conservative media speaks out

Many in the conservative media, including Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, argue that the Obama administration spied on Trump’s campaign – something which Carlson says the mainstream media refuses to actually call “spying.”

“Attorney General William Barr has finally confirmed what has been obvious for months now – the Obama administration spied on Donald Trump's presidential campaign,” Carlson wrote in his Fox News report . “Nothing like this has happened in modern American history. Barr dropped the news almost in passing during testimony before Congress on Wednesday morning.”

He went on to outline some major points of contention regarding the spying that allegedly took place.

“There is no disputing the points that Barr made – especially the first one,” Calrson insisted. “Spying on a presidential campaign is a big deal, especially when it was authorized by a rival administration. Just imagine if – a year from now – the Trump administration allowed the FBI to surveil officials in the Kamala Harris for President campaign. Imagine if when caught, Trump pointed to opposition research generated by the Republican National Committee as justification for that surveillance. How would the media react to that story?”

He impressed another point while noting the biased treatment the president has received from the anti-Trump media, which he said did its best to cover up for Obama and paint him in a good light.

“Law enforcement should never be used as a partisan political tool – no matter who it benefits – but the media don't feel that way about Obama spying,” Carlson contended. “They refuse to admit it even was spying. Professional dumb person, Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post, attacked the attorney general for daring to bring up the topic at all. She called Barr [a] ‘Trump's toady.’ CNN, meanwhile, assured its viewers that there is little evidence that spying occurred, but that is a lie.”

The host of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight then shot down the media’s deceit.

“There is plenty of evidence that spying occurred, and we've had it for months,” Carlson noted. “In 2016 and 2017, the FBI wiretapped Paul Manafort – Trump's former campaign chairman. Former Trump aide, Carter Page, was spied on extensively by the U.S. government – even though it was obvious from the very first day that he was not a Russian spy. Last year, we learned that the FBI used an informant to feed that information from inside the Trump campaign. This is all spying. There is no other word for it.”

The non-stop anti-Trump narrative offered by the mainstream media and Democrats was then brought to light.

“When Trump complained about being spied on, Democrats and their employees in the media called him a nutcase and a liar: ‘He lied,’ ‘He is crazy,’ ‘It's a conspiracy theory,’” Carlson recalled. “A lot of Republicans said that, too, by the way, and we should remember their names.”

He then provided a conclusion of his own.

“Russian collusion did not happen,” Carlson impressed. “Domestic spying during a presidential campaign did happen, and we have a right to know who participated in it, who authorized it and what their motives were. We have a right to know that immediately – right now without redactions. And as it turns out, there was, in fact, a conspiracy afoot to hide the truth. But Trump was not leading that conspiracy – former Director National Intelligence Jim Clapper was, as suggested in a previous appearance on The View."

He also had a message for lingering Obama fans.

“This country does not belong to retired Obama staffers and intel agency heads and mindless CNN contributors who nod gravely as they say something you do not understand,” Carlson concluded. “No. It is our country. This is a democracy, and we ought to act like it is a democracy.”

America weighing in …

But what is America’s take on whether or not Obama and his cronies spied on Trump – keeping in mind the mainstream media’s pro-Obama/anti-Trump coverage on the situation?

It turns out that not even half of America believes that Obama orchestrated a spy campaign against the then-Republican presidential candidate.

“Nearly four in 10 voters believe Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was spied on during the 2016 election,” Politico reported on a new Politico/Morning Consult poll . “Thirty-eight (38) percent of respondents said they believe the Trump campaign was spied on – compared with 28 percent who said they don’t believe the president’s campaign was spied on. More than a third, (35 percent) said they don’t know or have no opinion about it.”

A majority of Republicans believe in the spying allegations against the Obama administration, while about one in four Democrats see the former Democratic president as guilty of spying.

“The spying allegations – revived last week by Attorney General William Barr, who told lawmakers he thought ‘spying did occur’ on the president’s 2016 campaign – are largely viewed through a partisan lens,” Politico’s Nolan D. McCaskill recounted. “More than half of Republicans surveyed (57 percent) said they believe the Trump campaign was spied on, while less than a quarter of Democrats (24 percent) agreed.”

Even though Barr’s spying claim against Obama is not getting as much attention as the Democrats’ Russian collusion accusation against Trump, more and more Americans are hearing about the former president’s alleged misuse of powers while in office.

“More than a quarter (26 percent) said they have seen, heard or read ‘a lot’ about Barr’s spying claim, and 32 percent said they have seen, heard or read ‘some,’” McCaskill added. “One-fifth of respondents said they hadn’t seen, heard or read much about the comments, and 21 percent were fully in the dark, saying they hadn’t seen, heard or read anything ‘at all’ about it.”
