Two more Oregon men left bloody after violent antifa attack at Portland protest

It appears that journalist Andy Ngo wasn’t the only victim of an antifa assault at Saturday’s rally in Portland, Oregon.
Two Oregon men — John Blum and Adam Kelly — were mobbed and pummeled by black-masked protesters in a horrific attack that left Mr. Blum bleeding profusely from wounds to his face and skull, as shown in video shared on social media by conservative pundit Michelle Malkin and others.
The assault came during the same counter-protest that saw journalist Andy Ngo bruised and battered by antifa activists, an incident captured on video by the Oregonian that drew outrage over the weekend from political and media figures.

Ms. Malkin, who said she spoke with both Mr. Blum and Mr. Kelly by phone, said police have opened an investigation into the attack on Mr. Kelly.
A GoFundMe page for Mr. Kelly launched by Tami Miller of Beaverton said he was treated at a hospital for gashes to his skull and placed on 48-hour watch for possible concussion, brain swelling and internal bleeding.

Ms. Malkin said the two men were attacked at Pioneer Square after arriving for a rally by Haley Adams, leader of Him Too, which seeks to defend men from false sexual-misconduct allegations.
“Both John & Adam were beaten by Antifa after trying to help a gay man in a sun dress being chased down the street,” Ms. Malkin said. “While the cowards are masked, John and Adam faced the crowds openly and agreed to be named publicly.”

— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) July 1, 2019
A 45-second video of the attack shows the red-bearded Kelly being hit in the head, kicked and sprayed with gas as he moved toward the older Mr. Blum, who was grabbed and beaten with a pipe or crowbar by a crowd of black-clad assailants.
New thread: Sharing information from my phone interviews tonight with 2 other victims of Antifa assaults: Oregonians Adam Kelly and John Blum, seen in this video posted by @Lucet_Veritas https://t.co/ZBWTKMfDwT /a
— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) July 1, 2019

Both Ms. Malkin and NewsChute have posted lengthy threads of the attack along with commentary.
“While John was being pummeled by the mob in the center, Adam was struck in the head with nunchucks, water bottles, some sort of metal rod, and fists,” Ms. Malkin said.
Harmeet K. Dhillon, a San Francisco lawyer and Republican National Committeewoman from California, said Sunday that Mr. Ngo has been cleared to leave the hospital after suffering a “brain bleed,” adding that he was “kicked and punched several times with rigid surfaces, in pain.”
Ms. Dhillon added that she planned to sue “Antifa criminals … into oblivion.”

— Harmeet K. Dhillon (@pnjaban) July 1, 2019
A GoFundMe account for Mr. Ngo started by Ms. Malkin had raised $140,000 of its $150,000 goal as of Monday morning.
Portland police have been criticized for failing to stop the attacks, as has Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler for tolerating the political street clashes that have roiled the famously progressive city since the 2016 election.
In a video post on Facebook, Mr. Kelly thanked Portland police for wrapping his head and carrying him to an ambulance.
“Portland police, I thank you guys,” said Mr. Kelly, who reported he received 25 staples to his skull. “They’re under huge restraints from the mayor.”
Police made three arrests and reported “multiple assaults” at the Saturday melee, which saw hundreds descend on the area for a counter-protest led by Portland Democratic Socialists of America and Rose City Antifa against the Proud Boys and Him Too rally, which drew several dozen.
The counter-protest, Portland Unites Against Fascist Violence, was billed as a rally against hate.
The counter-protest’s supporters have called the outrage over the attack on Mr. Ngo overblown, arguing that the real threat of violence comes from the right.
“We live in peak irony when the far-right, the political side actually responsible for every political murder in the past year, ensures that #AntifaTerrorists is trending despite antifascists killing no one,” tweeted Shane Burley, author of “Fascism Today.”

Why?  Was he only attacked for being gay?  Was he wearing an "I'm gay" sign?

Of course not. Being gay had nothing to do with his being assaulted.

What he chooses to do as a self declared investigative journalist is dangerous.

He knows it and persists in doing it.

Reportedly the police arrested three of his attackers.

Hopefully they will catch the idiots who assaulted John & Adam

and maybe MS Malkin can start them a Go Fund Me page also.

They deserve it.

he chooses to stalk these groups knowing the danger he places himself in by filming people who don't want to be filmed;

that's the equivalence of a firefighter complaining about getting burned.

As I said, I hope they arrest anyone who broke the law regarding the three injured men,

but as Vic implied, it had nothing at all to do with being gay.

Yes,

Those people, like Andy Ngo, knew the risks and for whatever motivates those people to "cover " the news in hostile countries,

they still got on a plane and naively flew to the ME, in some cases crossed borders illegally,

to be beaten and "hand raped" like Logan or killed by the ignorant assholes in a shit hole country like Syria,

so yes, if you want to use the word blame, go right ahead.

What your comment implies is that Ngo is a stalker because he's a gay, conservative, Asian reporter covering Antifa violence.

In what universe ?

Your comment indicates an over active imagination since I have never implied that he was hurt

because he was conservative, gay or Asian.

I have no more remorse or sympathy for any of these reporters than I do for Carlin Dunne who was killed last weekend in a motorcycle race on Pike's Peak.

Carlin accepted the risk and died doing what he must have loved.  At least Ngo is walking around & talking about his GoFundMe $150,000.

Would you have said the same about straight, Left-wing reporters? I doubt it.

Then you would be wrong again.  ( maybe you can write an article on how to spot them )

I have no idea of most reporters sexual orientation or political leanings, nor do I care, but if they put themselves in harms way to earn a dollar

or become famous and they get hurt, you will find little sympathy from me.

As they say, it comes with the job.

and the weeds that you alone,

mistakenly think are cattails.

That yard is normally bone dry and not at all good habitat for cattails.

Cattails are invasive and form thick tall clumps along side ponds or in marshes with constant standing water.

Those are just weeds that get thicker with more branches farther to the right. Lots of single branches with small leaves.

( ok, you are not entirely alone, there are some conspiracy freaks like Alex Jones who push this shit and are in agreement with you )

was the most dangerous thing I've seen a reporter do.

Well considering all of the leaking septic tanks, asbestos and pesticides, oil tanks and cars leaking oil and gas into the water,

not to mention snakes,

and the possibility of being electrocuted, I'm just fine watching someone else stupid enough do it.

Well I have never lived much further North above the mason Dixon Line than Leigh County PA, but many of years serving the USA have been in the South where swales are the most common form of drainage and the responsibility of the landowner on all sides of the property.

So it would not be unusual, ( quite the opposite  ) for there to be wide and deep drainage ditches along every road. It's actually required by law though out much of the coastal regions in the South.

One disadvantage is a higher amount of roll over accidents in dry weather , but it does diminish property damage from flooding where the average is mostly less than 20 feet above sea/river tide.

Roadside ditches are normal and mandatory in flood zones.

I think the idiots who call themselves "Antifa" need to take off their bandanas if they want to actually protest fascism. Fascists are the ones who wear masks, it's not supposed to be the anti-fascists wearing them. Besides, its just too easy, with their faces covered, for bigoted white supremacists and so called "proud boys" to infiltrate them and instigate this kind of violence in an effort to diminish those fighting against white nationalism, fascism and white supremacy. I doubt very much anyone behind those masks throwing things and attacking people were liberals or progressives. They are in my opinion, either anarchists, opportunists looking for a reason to break things and start fights or infiltrators. They have no political affiliation and apparently have no agenda other than to punch people and break stuff.

I didn't say that's what happened in this instance or that its ever happened before, I'm just pointing out how easy it would be for worthless dipshit racists like the "Proud boys" to do so.

Stop making excuses for these hate filled criminals. If it wasn't Antifa members committing the acts, then the real Antifa would turn against them, and stop them. They are wearing masks because they are piss poor human beings and cowards that seek safety in intimidation and numbers. Antifa (who the left is dismissing as small and insignificant) easily outnumbers those they are protesting against at these events. They also don't care who they attack; which has been proven repeatedly.

I have said it several times. It is going to take Antifa killing multiple people for the left to start giving a shit; and even then many will still say "They only attack Nazis and Facists"; and "If the Nazis and Facists will disappear so will Antifa".

Antifa is a terrorist organization, and needs to be treated as such, period.

I haven't, but you know that already. I don't know how many other ways to say I do not support anyone committing acts of violence and/or vandalism but apparently it's not getting through. I'll say it again, these supposed 'Antifa' and anyone wearing masks to avoid accountability for their violent actions are idiots and cowards. Any of them seen committing acts of violence should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The only thing I have done is defend the liberals and progressives who have NOTHING to do with these dick holes but get constantly blamed for their actions because conservatives see a mask and imagine every liberal or progressives face is behind it. When right wing extremists commit their murderous acts of violence which are FAR more frequent, they at least do it without a mask on so we know who they are and can hold that individual accountable as the other right wing religious conservatives and extremists distance themselves by saying "Well that guy had mental problems" or some other meager excuse.

Antifa is a terrorist organization, and needs to be treated as such, period.

"Antifa" isn't really an organized group that can be labeled a terrorist organization, they are not "organized" which is required to have an "organization". They are really just a loose collection of groups, networks and individuals who say they believe in "active, aggressive opposition to far right-wing movements". Those groups who have adopted vandalism and violence are indeed "terrorists" just like their right wing mirror images, though thankfully Antifa doesn't have the kind of body count the right wing extremists do. But even though they didn't kill anyone, certainly not the 50 lives taken by right wing terrorists in America last year, they should still be held accountable for their violent actions.

But the fact is, this article and many I've seen like it, isn't about holding the actual attackers accountable or finding out who they are and making sure they pay for their crimes. This seed and so many others profiling "antifa' are really just right wing attacks on liberals and progressives in general as they attempt to paint all liberals and progressives with the "Antifa" mask simply because virtually all of us are against the growing white nationalist fascism we see today in America. I am very anti-fascist but I know of no liberals or progressives in my area or surrounding areas that are part of the loose collection of groups that apparently make up Antifa or have any association with them. That is why it seems so incongruous to me to constantly see liberals and progressives lumped in with this sad group of idiot masked vigilantes.

Well the KKK aren't wearing their hoods anymore, they're wearing MAGA hats and marching alongside wannabe Nazi's and other white nationalists as they protest the removal of confederate monuments celebrating slave owners and those who fought to keep the status quo of being able to own black Americans like cattle. And strangely, I hear many of the same defenses of the confederacy and white nationalism coming from those MAGA hat wearing Nazis and KKK members as I do from most of the religious conservatives even here on NT. And when given the opportunity to condemn the KKK and Nazi's marching in unison chanting "Jews will not replace us!" this worthless President said there were "fine people on both sides". I'm saying definitely that there were no "fine people" among the Antifa who attacked the journalist or attacked anyone else in any protest they've shown up at. They define themselves by their actions proving they are not "fine people" and are in fact criminals. Too bad it seems this President and most of his supporters continue to refuse such a condemnation of the cancer within their own ranks for fear they would alienate the white nationalists without whom Republicans would never win another election.

Anyone with a modicum of reading comprehension can see I never accused anyone here of doing such. I have slandered no one. I said "I hear many of the same defenses of the confederacy and white nationalism" from some here on NT as I've heard espoused by some of the Charlottesville tiki torch crowd and other white nationalists.

because they want to abolish the 1st amendment rights of all Americans

I don't pretend to know what those jerks want, but they seem to be anarchists who want to foment violence against those they perceive as fascists.

Who ever stands in their way will feel their violence

Considering I've never seen more than a few dozen in one place at any one time, I hardly think they are some monolith standing in the way of free speech or even really threatening it in any way. I've seen just about every stupid, looney, idiotic, moronic archaic nonsensical religious conservative idea and ideology expressed over and over again on multiple media platforms for decades now, no one is stopping them from spreading their theocratic idiocy. Free speech is not in any way under threat just because there are a few dozen, or even a few hundred, anti-fascist half-wits with bandanas on their faces who have done stupid things in response.

What many of these religious conservatives are truly upset about is that their religious beliefs are no longer free of criticism and free of consequences as they once were. One they were just an accepted part of society and no one batted an eye at discrimination against gay couples, or even further back, against interracial couples or even black Americans in general. No one is stopping the bigots from proclaiming as they once did that blacks were the "sons of Cain" and were cursed by God and were meant to be enslaved. You can still say that if you want, and try to use the bible to prove it as religious conservatives once did. Free speech still allows you to say whatever you want, just don't expect it to be received as it was a hundred years ago, with cheers and welcome by millions of white religious conservatives. Now it get's ridiculed as ignorant and racist as well it should, as are many modern religious conservative views against gay marriage and LGTBQ Americans, views that get ridiculed as ignorant and bigoted because they are.

I must have missed it, but I'm curious as to what you're referencing.

Take a look at the colors of the "protesters".

Black and red is not insignificant.

It is Earth and Blood.

To the rest of the world this is right wing anarchist extremism. Same with the symbolism's.

Interesting how our extreme left has adopted them. Hmmmm?

Guess these "protesters" have never been invited to "breakfast in bed" by "vacationing" Russians in Eastern Ukraine. BTW be sure to bring your 12.7 DShK heavy machine gun with you with some mechanized help.

As mentioned earlier they have become what they hate.

Don't ever think disjoint autonomous groups of any extreme are incapable of catastrophic murder.

Descendant of a firsthand survivor here to raise the concern.

More nonsense.

You're claiming this is anti-fa?

Where did I state that?

Can you find it in this?

Don't ever think disjoint autonomous groups of any extreme are incapable of catastrophic murder

Do you understand this? Can you find it in this?

As mentioned earlier they have become what they hate.

Found a great article in The Federalist by a guy who was with Ngo that day. Lots of pictures.

I Was With Andy Ngo When The Antifa Attack Happened. Here Are The Horrifying Pictures

I still think they were plants from the Proud Boys or some other bigoted group.

I'm still looking for the horrifying pictures in your piece.

So the guy covered in blood isn't horrifying?

I don't know how much more you want.

Are you taking the stance this was some proud boy implants? That's Hillaryious.

If that is the case you have to give the proud boys kudos. They can infiltrate Antifa, And even have the pussy ass fascist brown shirts pay there bail money. How awesome is that?
