Trump Backed Candidate For Kentucky Governor Has Lost

99% of the vote is in, which means there arent enough votes left for Bevin to make up the difference.

17 is a good number. That's how many points Bevin was down before Trump campaigned for him (as well as others):

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7654621/Donald-Trump-insists-not-fault-Democrat-wins-Kentucky-governors-race.html

Bevin lost by four-tenths of a percentage point.

The President didn't miss it. While campaigning for Bevin, Trump reminded the crowd in Kentucky: "If you win, they’re going to make it like, ho hum,” Trump said. “And if you lose, they are going to say Trump suffered the greatest defeat in the history of the world. You can't let that happen to me!"

As usual, you and John proved the President was right!

In addition, Trump actually campaigned for 6 different candidates in Kentucky. 5 of 6 of those candidates won, including the first Republican African American AG. I can see many liberals seething at this "Uncle Tom" and "sell out", as I am sure they are referring to him today.

"Mr. Bevin’s troubles did not appear to be a drag on other Republicans, who captured every other statewide race in Kentucky — a sign that Kentucky voters were rejecting Mr. Bevin and not his party. Daniel Cameron handily won the attorney general’s race, becoming the first African-American to claim the office and the first Republican to do so in over 70 years ."

17 is a good number. That's how many points Bevin was down before Trump campaigned for him (as well as others):

.

?

From the Daily Mail link provided;

Trump tweeted that Bevin 'picked up at least 15 points' around the time he held a massive rally in Lexington, Kentucky – but the only evidence to support that is an outlier poll with a very small sample size conducted by a pay-for-play market research group with poor ratings for its predictions.

The only poll showing Beshear with a lead was conducted by Targoz Research, a Nashville organization that offered to conduct the polling for $2,750 – a pittance compared to the resources most surveys require.

Targoz reported that its panel of just 401 likely voters gave Beshear a 19-point advantage. The FiveThirtyEight political data analysis website rates the firm between a 'C' and a 'D' for the reliability of its predictions.

Trump claimed Tuesday night that Bevin 'picked up at least 15 points in last days, but perhaps not enough.'

Poll data from RealClearPolitics

original

.

Using Trumps logic, (him coming to town swung peoples vote), just looking at the polls in Oct 2019 it would seem that Trump visit could have COST Bevin the race.

..........

And so the trend continues.

Once again the majority of America continues to show their displeasure with the President they didn't vote for in 2016, first in 2018 and now again in 2019.

That may be one of the more polite name she called him, as well as McConnell. Now it they can just grow balls enough to get rid of McConnell KY might be able to become a more reputable state.

And no, it doesn't have to be a Dem to replace him, there has to be far more decent Repubs in KY than McConnell who can run on the ticket who would not use the voters of KY for their own personal gain like McConnell does.

Then Dowser would have a huge smile on her face and cheering from the stars.

Just how much land, and what is its present value in their daily lives, does it take to construct/have a wall? 10 feet? 50 feet? 100 feet? Can't actually take more than 20 or 30 feet (including the roadway for patrols). Anyone with anything valuable that close to the border needs to rethink what they consider important.

"anyone with half a brain understands why we need to protect our wetlands."

As well as our border and therefore sovereignty as a nation.

Sounds rather hypocritical to me. If it's bad when Democrats steal land, why isn't it bad when Republicans do it?

BTW, Big Cedar Island was stolen from the Native Americans in the first place - they have a much better claim than your family.

Beshear won, barely.  The GOP did very well in the other state races.

Kentucky is still a solid red state.

However, 2020 will tell the real story for Kentucky.  A year remains in the Trump-----presidency.  Can Amy McGrath unseat McConnell?  Will investigations, revelations fracture the

Trump base?  Or is it possible support for Trump and the GOP will surpass all expectation?

Everything moves so fast.  The US abandonment of the Kurds is already very old and irrelevant news, almost as if it happened a thousand years ago.

I believe McGrath will win.

Trump is becoming bitter, vindictive and more irrational as the year continues.  If this continues his 'friendly MAGA rallies' may degenerate into ( woe is me ) performances not unlike the late Lenny Bruce's stage shows in his end days when instead of entertaining he constantly railed to his fans about his legal troubles on obscenity charges.

Trump has a lot of issues on his plate.  And if by chance he loses re-election the prospect of criminal proceedings against him, his family, his businesses and his friends is very likely.  And then being citizen Trump he will be naked for all to see.  And that sight will not be a pretty one.

On another site, a few years ago I predicted that if Trump won the presidency it would be likely that the end result would be that Trump and his family would lose everything they had.  Everything.  The reasoning for my prediction was that Trump is Trump.  And there are thousands of people great and small that the Trump family has cheated and destroyed going back decades.

On the other hand, if Trump wins re-election he is home free.  Untouchable.

Political Wire   /   56min
“Juli Briskman, who famously flipped off President Trump’s motorcade in a viral 2017 photo, won her race Tuesday night for a seat on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors in Virginia,” the HuffPost reports. “Briskman, a former marketing executive and local Democratic activist, unseated eight-year incumbent Republican Suzanne Volpe.”

"In New Jersey, a state that seemed to be shifting increasingly blue each year, Republicans were on the cusp of their first legislative gains in nearly a decade. With final results still being tallied late Tuesday, Republicans looked likely to pick up two seats in the Assembly and one in the Senate, powered largely by a surge along the southern part of the state where Mr. Trump won easily in 2016 despite Democrats’ local advantage".
