Democrats see coronavirus as just another crisis to exploit
Fact is, if Democrats cared so much about the spread of the virus, they’d be on board with shutting borders, and shutting borders but quick. Instead, they’re focused on calling out the Chinese or Wuhan coronavirus as a racist label, and painting anyone who dares call the coronavirus by its apt, factually-based Chinese tag as racist.

This is truly sad. Democrats exploiting tragedy for political gain.  For them no new low is too low.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

The Democrats, they do love their crises. And with coronavirus, it’s a match made in heaven: Democrats get a bogeyman with long-lasting legs to press everything from anti-President Donald Trump rhetoric to, unbelievably enough, climate change.

“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve seen not only the spreading of the virus but also a rapid spreading of racism and xenophobia,”  said  Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Ayanna Pressley, in remarks delivered during a House hearing. “This painful rhetoric has consequences. Restaurants across Boston’s Chinatown have seen up to an 80 percent drop in business and I believe this has everything to do with the rapid spread of misinformation and paranoia.”

That was after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Instagram Live  called  it “straight up racism” for people to  avoid “patroning” — that is, patronizing — her district’s Chinese restaurants, out of fears of coronavirus.

And that was right around the time Joe Biden, from the campaign trail, slammed Trump as a racist for calling the Wuhan virus a “foreign virus” that originated in China — even though it did originate in China. In the Wuhan district of China, in fact. Thus the name: Wuhan coronavirus.

From Biden: “Downplaying [this pandemic], being overly dismissive, or  spreading  misinformation is only going to hurt us … but neither should we panic or fall back on xenophobia. Labeling COVID-19 a foreign virus does not displace accountability for the misjudgments that have been taken thus far by the Trump administration.”

Well, one can dicker over this administration’s response to coronavirus as one wishes. But what one can’t dicker over is the obvious — that labeling a “foreign virus” a “foreign virus” when it is indeed a virus that originated at a foreign spot seems a crucial step for the medical world’s investigations into the source, spread and containment process. It gives a starting point for tracking. And with coronavirus, the starting point is, drumroll please, the Wuhan district. In China. In the foreign country of China.

The only ones denying that are the Chinese.

Even The Washington Post admitted as much and in a story teaser on Google, wrote: “Since the coronavirus outbreak began in China …” Click on the story,  entitled  “Mapping the spread of the coronavirus in the U.S. and worldwide,” and that particular phrase is missing, no doubt because of the recent liberal panic to hide all traces of their own recent acknowledgements of truths they’re now trying to paint as racist and xenophobic.

But  read  further and there’s this interesting bit: “A majority of cases and deaths occurred in China, mostly in the Hubei province, where Chinese health officials said the new virus strain originated in wild animals sold at a market in the capital city of Wuhan.”

Why is that so interesting? Because now the Chinese propaganda machine is in full swing, denying that the coronavirus originated in China.

Meanwhile, back on the liberal farm, Democrats are  having  a field day with Rahm Emanuel’s famous saying, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” On that, the coronavirus is proving pure gold.

“Universal health care is a must,” Bernie Sanders  wrote , in a USA Today opinion piece about the White House’s response to coronavirus.

We need to rejoin the Paris climate change treaty and “prepare for future global health threats,” Biden  said , in his just-released plan to combat coronavirus.

Really?

Here’s a thought to help control the spread of coronavirus — as well as any other type of virus or disease that may come creeping into America in the future: Tighten borders. Test border crossers for diseases. Quarantine those who test positive — or send ‘em back from where they came.

“328 Chinese nationals caught entering US illegally,” one headline  ran  a few days ago.

“328 Chinese Nationals Caught Trying To Illegally Enter U.S.,” another  ran , also a few days ago.

“DHS officials fear illegal border crossings may spread coronavirus,”  ran yet one more, in the same time frame.

You think?

The natural, logical response to a foreign virus is to tighten borders and control who enters.

But for Democrats — it’s to toss race cards and sign a treaty on climate change.

Did these Chinese nationals enter from our northern or southern border?

The numbers of those caught so far: Illegal immigrants apprehended at the southern border since Jan. 1:
China: 328
South Korea: 3

Some 328 immigrants from China have been caught crossing the border illegally so far this year, according to Homeland Security data that raises the prospect a coronavirus carrier could sneak into the country via the U.S.- Mexico border.

Three other people from South Korea — another country with rapidly spreading cases — have also been arrested at the border, as have 122 people from the Dominican Republican, where the coronavirus has now been detected.

All told, more than 1,000 migrants a day are caught attempting to sneak in illegally from Mexico , which detected its first case last week, and since has identified five others.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Texas Insider Report) —  As the U.S. fight against the Coronavirus heightens awareness on the nation's borders,  Customs & Border Protection (CBP)   officials and  the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)  announced that 100's of Chinese nationals have attempted to illegally enter the United States through the southern border since the outbreak of the coronavirus in China. The White House recently announced travel restrictions for China, saying the U.S. would keep out any foreign national who’s been in China within 14 days.

“Some 328 illegal immigrants from China have been nabbed jumping the U.S.-Mexico Border so far this year, according to Homeland Security data that raises the prospect a coronavirus carrier could sneak into the country via the border,” The Washington Times reported.

“Three other people from South Korea — another country with rapidly spreading cases — have also been arrested at the border, as have 122 people from the Dominican Republican, where the coronavirus has now been detected.”

“The journey to the U.S. border puts migrants in poor conditions. We don’t know if they have come into contact with someone who has the flu, there is no passport, medical history, or travel manifest,” said Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.

The Chinese citizens were “apprehended” and sent back across the border or repatriated consistent with existing policy and procedure, CBP officials said.

Some 227 foreign nationals from other nations who tried to enter through legal border points from Feb. 2 through March 3 have been turned away due to the travel restriction ordered by President Donald Trump and implemented by   the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) , officials said.

"We know from experience that the journey to the U.S. border puts migrants in poor conditions — and they often arrive with no passports, medical histories, or travel manifests,” said Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.

"The individuals coming in at our 11 airports are being funneled, and we have very good information of their travel history, of their medical history.

"We’re not going to have that same set of fidelity for the individuals if this continues to grow at the southwest border."

Since you asked.

Or did you think they were trying to enter the US at air ports and harbors since there already is a ban on travel to the US from China? Block one way and they will simply go around; especially since the Democrats love their open borders.

Why don't we just send everyone to solitary confinement.

From one extreme to another.

And why not. We live in an age of extreme partisanship anyway. But really, The government is already restricting the peoples right to gather and do other things. Why not solitare for all? It would certainly be the most effective means of controlling the spread of the virus.

It would seem the administration certainly dropped the ball. The dems can't of course get legislation passed unless the repubs agree.

As far as EOs, the right loves them when it is a repub in office, not so much when it is a dem.

Trump's Tariffs Weakened America's Hospitals. Then Coronavirus Hit. Some of Trump's tariffs hit medical equipment and supplies from China. We need more trade, not less, to be prepared for pandemics.

"It reveals the foolishness of the administration's shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later approach," Scott Lincicome, a trade lawyer and scholar with the Cato Institute, tells   Reason . The practical (and obvious) consequences of the tariff policy should have been addressed from the start, he says, like the fact that tariffs created an incentive for hospitals and other importers to rely on their existing inventories and put off making additional purchases in the hopes that the tariffs would be reduced before supplies ran out.

"There was clearly no thought given to how this would actually work in practice," Lincicome says, "and now you're seeing the consequences."

Memes are nice, but words are just so much better at conveying the truth.

That may just be the biggest load of shit posted in last couple days we should have warehouses full of supplies in case of a pandemic.

You want the government to mandate the amount of money private hospitals must spend on their supplies?

...we should have warehouses full of supplies in case of a pandemic.

The US Government has an undisclosed number of highly classified medical warehouses in undisclosed locations stocked for serious emergencies. Some people have floated it may be as many as 6 warehouses. The original idea was to treat the population in a nuclear war setting. I'm thinking that our current situation may change how these are thought about now.

Really...….how so, what should have been done differently.  Which candidate in the Democratic debates provided a solution for the Corona Virus.

There is no solution, and you know it.  Crossing your arms and denying its existence until it is too late, however is a very bad solution.

Being aware of the threat, being honest when describing what this country was facing, and being willing to accept foreign help may have made a huge difference in how citizens react to this.

Being honest in the TV addresses, and not contradicting the health experts, may have minimized all the panic hording that we are seeing now.

Well, you won't give facts to back your point, so that makes you a bullshitter. And let me tell you this, I don't take shit, I don't give a shit. I'm not in the shit business.
