Members of Mueller's team 'wiped' phones during Trump probe: DOJ
More than two dozen cell phones belonging to members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team were "wiped" clean of their data before the Justice Department's inspector general could check them.

More than two dozen cellphones belonging to members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team were “wiped” clean of their data before the Justice Department’s inspector general could check them, according to a report.

Newly released DOJ records show the phones were wiped of the data because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device and intentional deletion, among other reasons, Fox News reported .

Mueller deputy Andrew Weissman “accidentally wiped” his device twice after he entered the wrong passcode too many times in March 2018, according to the documents cited by Fox News.

Attorney James Quarles’ phone “wiped itself” of the data without his input, say the records, which were released after a lawsuit from the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, the network reported.

The documents also show that a phone belonging to then-FBI attorney Lisa Page — who exchanged anti-Trump texts with fellow agent Peter Strzok — was restored to factory settings when the Inspector General’s Office got it, according to Fox News.

Lost AND FOUND. Why not tell the WHOLE story?

One could almost conclude you didn't include that bit of information from your source in your post because it tells a little different story.

From your own source:

Then, in December 2009—well into Barack Obama's administration—the White House said it found 22 million emails, dated between 2003 and 2005, that it claimed had been mislabeled. That cache was given to the National Archives, and it and other plaintiffs agreed, on December 14, 2009, to settle their lawsuit

Why?  I provided the link and you read it.

.

That's the way things work.

It also says that a different Administration found them eventually through no effort of Bush or the RNC.

It also says no one has been punished yet and that FOIAs has been stymied perhaps through this year.

It will all be water under the bridge which no one will be prosecuted for.

No one cares.

I don't even think you read your own link, personally.

That is why I quoted it for you.

You didn't include any info about the emails being found--just claimed they were lost, because that was some vague point you were attempting to make.

And yes, before you even start, I KNOW it was in your link. I just don't think you knew it.

A little disingenuous to me.

And if a damaged screen means a phone wipe mine is way past needing one.

Obviously they meant a phone screen so damaged that it rendered the phone unusable, like a razor sharp

fingerprint remover screen damage, hence they had to "wipe it" before disposal.

Makes sense to me.

Notice no one mentions backing up data because there are always records of texts and emails from a phone whether it

has been wiped or not.  How do you think they got all of the "smoking gun" texts that Strzok made about Trump

after he turned in a wiped phone?

I would also note that Peter Strzok was an equal opportunity politician hater who apparently hated Clinton, Sanders and

Trump equally.  If fact the only politician he did not disparage regularly was John Kasich.

,

Stupid seed.  I only had one government phone and was told to return it in exactly the condition I received it, much like base housing.  Of course it was wiped to turn it back in.

Food for thought.

Answer,  none,

especially by the evil MSM.  Strzok apparently hated everyone in politics.

OK, I'll bite, lol.

How many did they lose that were under Congressional subpoena?

How many what(s) did they lose?  Emails, texts or phones? What subpoena, please be specific with links etc.

From all of the conservative's outrage about Strozok's  and Page's texts, they lost none.  Look at the timeline and it will make more sense to you possibly.

And destroy under subpoena?

Again? Destroy what? The FBI and the NSA have all of the emails and texts and phones.  Could you be more specific about this subpoena?  To whom for what from whom?

With the man doing the destroying being given immunity first?

"the man"?  That's some web you are weaving.

As I suggested in 2.1.10, we agreed that all of the information is intact, somewhere, yet you persist in trying to argue that there is an unresolved conspiracy from 2017.

This is an imaginary tempest in a teapot by people outside the FBI who know nothing about FBI phone protocol.

I see that the smoke from the west coast has reached the east coast, stay safe, wear that mask and have a great day.

I would think that anyone with such a phone would know better than to keep punching in the wrong code over and over, prompting it to lock up. And even if they did reach such a point, is it truly necessary to wipe the phone?

The phones are programmed to self wipe in the event that they are found by unauthorized people who try to access the phone's contents.

As CJ suggested, it sounds like Standard Operating Procedure for certain government agencies.

And as I stated earlier and Vic suggested, nothing was lost. It's all on some FBI or NSA server that collects all FBI emails and texts.

How about the FACT that throughout the documents it cites IT 'wiping' DOJ cell phones, once inspected, as SOP?

How about the FACT that Trump's DOJ, under AG Barr, didn't inquire about Strzok's phone until 2018, even thought THEY were the ones that instigated his firing?
