Trump’s Chief of Staff: ‘We Are Not Going to Control the Pandemic’
In a raising-the-white-flag-of-surrender moment, the White House Chief of Staff admitted on Sunday that Trump’s administration cannot “control the pandemic.”

512

Tapper: Why aren’t we going to get control of the pandemic?

Meadows: Because it is a contagious virus just like the flu.

Tapper: But why not make efforts to contain it?

Meadows: Well we are making efforts to contain it.

Tapper: By running all over the country and not wearing a mask? That’s what the vice president is doing.

Meadows: Let me just say this. What we need to do is make sure that we have the proper mitigation factors, whether it’s therapies or vaccines or treatments, to make sure that people don’t die from this. But to suggest that we are going to actually quarantine all of America.

Tapper: No one’s saying that.

They never tried in the first place.

Trump and probably Pence are now "super-spreaders"

And what I find ironic is the people most likely to get it from are those they are physically close to-- his groupies at rallies (Most of whom aren't wearing masks and often sit shoulder to shoulder).

And-- the loyal members of his White House Staff

And then those folks go home to their families...

So they are spreading the Virus-- to other Trump supporters!

People like Trump ALWAYS fuck over those closest and most loyal to them. They are the easiest to abuse.

Yes.

And I've always found it ironic that trump is obsessed with lack of loyalty from his staff when it occurs-- yet he himself has zero loyalty to them!

The host asked if there would be any changes to Vice President Mike Pence’s campaign schedule following news that at  least four members of his staff  have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past few days.

Meadows said Pence will remain on the campaign trail, saying that because the vice president is considered “essential personnel,” he doesn’t need to quarantine. Tapper was baffled by the excuse and asked Meadows to make sense of it.

Tapper: So, CDC guidelines say that Vice President Pence should be quarantined for 14 days. Now, I understand the White House is trying to get around that by saying the vice president is an essential worker.

But, Mark, how is going all over the country? How is that campaigning? How is that essential work? It’s not like he’s helping to contain the virus. In fact, the opposite. He’s holding rallies that could be spreading the virus.

It had to be stopped when Trump first knew about it. Had proper measures been taken at that time, the picture would be vastly different today.  Had he not cancelled the Pandemic Task Force that Obama had set up, maybe there would have been a proper response.  What we discovered, from Trump's own words, is that he didn't ignore it, he covered it up.  I find it interesting that the Trumpsters are quick to accuse China of "covering it up" but you can't even hear a pin drop when it's been exposed that Trump "covered it up".

Trump disbanded NSC pandemic unit that experts had praised

Public health and national security experts shake their heads when President Donald Trump says the coronavirus "came out of nowhere" and “blindsided the world.”

WASHINGTON -- Public   health   and national security experts shake their heads when President   Donald Trump   says the   coronavirus   "came out of nowhere" and “blindsided the world.”

They've been warning about the next pandemic for years and criticized the Trump administration's decision in 2018 to dismantle a National Security Council directorate at the White House charged with preparing for when, not if, another pandemic would hit the nation.

“It would be nice if the office was still there,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institute of Health, told Congress this week. “I wouldn't necessarily characterize it as a mistake (to eliminate the unit). I would say we worked very well with that office.”

The NSC directorate for global   health   and security and bio-defense survived the transition from President   Barack Obama   to Trump in 2017.

Trump's elimination of the office suggested, along with his proposed budget cuts for the CDC, that he did not see the threat of pandemics in the same way that many experts in the field did.

“One year later I was mystified when the White House dissolved the office, leaving the country less prepared for pandemics like COVID-19,” Beth Cameron, the first director of the unit, wrote in an op-ed Friday in The Washington Post.

As the first coronavirus vaccines arrive in the coming year, government researchers will face a monumental challenge: monitoring the health of hundreds of millions of Americans to ensure the vaccines don’t cause harm.

Purely by chance, thousands of vaccinated people will have heart attacks, strokes and other illnesses shortly after the injections. Sorting out whether the vaccines had anything to do with their ailments will be a thorny problem, requiring a vast, coordinated effort by state and federal agencies, hospitals, drugmakers and insurers to discern patterns in a flood of data. Findings will need to be clearly communicated to a distrustful public swamped with disinformation.

OF COURSE IT'S TRUE.

Your 'president' failed.  Massively.  Completely.  He is a total fuck up.

Your 'president' left EVERYTHING to the states.  EVERYTHING.  The states have been left to their own devices from the start.  No leadership from the 'president', no plan, no nothing.

Here is a little insight..................into what really happened.........

Tim Morrison, a former senior director for counterproliferation and biodefense on the NSC, wrote in an op-ed for The Washington Post  that he "inherited a strong and skilled staff in the counterproliferation and biodefense directorate" when he joined in July 2018.

"This team of national experts together drafted the National Biodefense Strategy of 2018 and an accompanying national security presidential memorandum to implement it; an executive order to modernize influenza vaccines; and coordinated the United States’ response to the Ebola epidemic in Congo, which was ultimately defeated in 2020," he wrote.

MO, the administration, and Trump in particular have never tried to stop the virus.

So....why do we have several vaccines and and other therapies going through final trials?

The Democrats have done nothing to mitigate the pandemic, and by their blaming and fear mongering and their inability to lead, have made the problem much worse

And if anything, they've encouraged its spread!!!

(And many of his ass-kissing followers have followed his lead-- especially leading to larger icreases in states with republican governors...why has trump done this, its seems self-defeating!?!??)
