President Donald Trump posted a call for Attorney General William Barr to be fired today if he knew about the Hunter Biden tax investigation in April, but failed to publicly disclose it.

On Saturday morning, Trump posted a tweet from conservative media figure Todd Starnes that read "If the Wall Street Journal story is true and Attorney General Barr knew in the spring about the Biden investigation and kept it quiet — he should be fired by the end of business today."

Trump added "A big disappointment!"

A big disappointment! https://t.co/esmB5HrJlH
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 12, 2020

But word of the investigation actually did leak in October, a time so optimal for political leaks that there's a term for it: the October surprise.

Trump also posted several other tweets, rife with lies and misinformation, as part of his Saturday morning tweetstorm.

Earlier this week, the Biden story became bigger news when President-elect Joe Biden's transition team released a surprise statement in which Hunter Biden said that his taxes are being investigated by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Delaware.

"I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney's Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs," he said in the statement.

"I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors."

The announcement included a statement from the transition team saying, "President-elect Biden is deeply proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger."

Will being fired be Bill Barr's repayment for loyalty to the would-be king?

What loyalty would that be?

Unlike the two DOJ's during the Obama Administration; Barr has done his job under intense scrutiny from TDS driver Democrats, media, and never Trumpers. No matter what he did he was going to be viewed as a Trump toady.

This is just Trump being Trump. There is less than two months left for him in office. Who the hell cares what he does? War is bad for his business interests; so no worries there despite years of people pearl clutching about it. The Democrats are already calling for Biden to follow the Obama path to "success" and EA and EO everything.

People should be happy he is leaving; instead they are still hanging on his every word and action.

Trump used Barr as a personal lawyer, Obama didn't use the AG as a personal lawyer.

That's the difference.

Yes, nobody ever questioned anything under the Obama Administration.  Obama enjoyed support from both houses of Congress, and obstructionism wasn't clearly stated as a goal of Republicans.  Come on, Ronin.

Who the hell cares what he does?

Well, I would like for him to stop acting like an overgrown toddler with the world watching his tantrum and wondering why his parents (meaning us) don't remove him from the restaurant already.  He's an embarrassment.

Obama never had to hire a personal lawyer in 8 years. Trump has been through at least 12 in the last 4 years.

Let me get this straight....Donald Trump retweeted an opinion from Todd Starnes?  Does that mean Trump agrees with the sentiment or that he is showing how patient he can be?  Wouldn't it actually mean something if those were the President's own words?

Will being fired be Bill Barr's repayment for loyalty to the would-be king?

Much as many on the left refuse to admit, William Barr has been a great selection as AG and has conducted himself as an example of everything an AG should be.

Btw if Donald Trump went around telling people that he was ready to fire Barr, Barr would resign. Barr will be leaving in about a month anyway.

But word of the investigation actually did leak in October

Not exactly true. The New York Post did do a much suppressed & censored story on what was reported to be Hunter Biden's laptop. The FBI refused to even say if it was Hunter Biden's laptop. They only admitted to having it in their possession.

"A new  report  from the Media Research Center shows that the media’s lack of coverage and big tech’s suppression of certain issues and scandals surrounding Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden could have cost President Donald Trump the election.

The survey results report that 17 percent of Biden voters would not have voted for the Biden-Harris presidential ticket if they had known about at least one of the eight news stories that were suppressed by big tech and mainstream media outlets."

by that logic the percentage of biden voters lost could have easily been eclipsed by cross over trump voters that normally would choose more of a lying, cheating, adulterous, white collar criminal that value voters typically select when faced with that type of candidate information.

Well, here's a follow-up tweet from Trump.  I copied it from his Twitter page.

Why didn’t Bill Barr reveal the truth to the public, before the Election, about Hunter Biden. Joe was lying on the debate stage that nothing was wrong, or going on - Press confirmed. Big disadvantage for Republicans at the polls!

He surely doesn't seem to disagree with Starnes.

Much as many on the left refuse to admit, William Barr has been a great selection as AG and has conducted himself as an example of everything an AG should be.

That's a matter of opinion.

I'm curious, Vic.  You've been unwavering in your support of both Trump and Barr.  When they oppose each other, what then?  It must be difficult to choose.

The New York Post did do a much suppressed & censored story on what was reported to be Hunter Biden's laptop. The FBI refused to even say if it was Hunter Biden's laptop. They only admitted to having it in their possession.

Maybe the FBI wanted to get their story straight before releasing it.  I mean, that's the honest thing to do, right?  Surely, it's a good thing that they wanted to make sure they weren't being fed a line of bullshit.  Or does that depend on who's pushing the bullshit?

Everyone I know has heard about Hunter Biden.  But they're also aware that Hunter isn't on the ballot.

I'm sorry. I forgot you need to talk to the level of your audience and that was obviously too complicated for you if that's what you took away from it. Let me make it really simple:

Lies and the truth will have different effects on media consumers. Media covering stories by lying=bad.  Media covers story and tells truth= good.  Media should cover stories honestly.

Do you follow yet? For starters, are you grasping the point that lies and the truth are different things? Once you understand that, let me know and we can move on to the apparently harder concept of understanding that lies by the media can mislead their audience.

Or are you still going to defend that it doesn't matter if the media lies about a story or not, just so long as people know the story exists?,

That same question was raised when I called Mattis resignation a matter of principle. I guess it must be very hard for some to understand how anyone can respect both individuals locked in a disagreement. It's very simple. I believe that William Barr follows the letter of the law and in the case of on-going investigations during a presidential election is guided by established DOJ precedent. At the same time, I can understand the frustration of a President who has been conspired against and maligned ever since he took the oath of office.

Maybe the FBI wanted to get their story straight before releasing it.  I mean, that's the honest thing to do, right?

Are they still entitled to the benefit of the doubt after their attempted coup?  Sorry, I think the agency, which has such a tarnished image, has to prove itself as being honest & unbiased these days.

Surely, it's a good thing that they wanted to make sure they weren't being fed a line of bullshit.

By the time the New York Post started writing the story the FBI had the laptop for quite a while. They knew. All they had to do was confirm one detail - who's laptop it was.

Maligned?  Ok.  He seems to me to be proving that pretty much every negative comment ever made about him didn't go far enough.

Are they still entitled to the benefit of the doubt after their attempted coup?

Again, thanks for the chuckle, considering what we're witnessing right now.  You seem to have a very loose definition for "coup", and a blind spot concerning some who are actually attempting one.

I'm sure what the FBI should have done was to repeat Comey's announcement about Hillary Clinton - we've been investigating this, and yes, we've already told you about it, and have nothing new to report, but we want to make sure it's on your radar as you go to the polls.  I mean, it worked once, right?  Probably, anyway.

But the Trump campaign played their ace in October, via the New York Post article, and it didn't sway voters.  Trump still lost.

If we're so interested in the action of candidates' adult children, does that interest extend to Trump's children?  I mean, Ivanka actually had a job in the Trump administration.  Worry about Hunter using Joe's connections while ignoring the fact that Ivanka blatantly used Donald's is a bit hypocritical.

He seems to have a fairly long list of things he is likely to be held in court for during Trumps tenure as President, and perhaps a few before. So maybe trying to make nice with Trump on his way out is in hopes that Trump might give him a broad pardon as well.

But, once Trump tosses you under the bus, all the grease in the world can't get you out again.

Trump just wanted it public so he could have something to smear Joe Biden with. Trump has the maturity of a 12 year old, it's all about him.

It was  Biden/Iran, then it was Biden/Russia, then Biden/Ukraine and of course, Biden/China. It's the same old story; which ever country is in the GOP's crosshairs, they just attach a Democrat to it and the smears, (AKA bullshit and lies), ooze out of republicans. I mean, according to Rudy, Hunter Biden should have been in prison for actions in the Ukraine 2 years ago.

It's all made up garbage.

Now we are on to Hunters taxes?

Where are trump's taxes?

*crickets*

On Saturday morning, Trump posted a tweet from conservative media figure  Todd Starnes  that read "If the Wall Street Journal story is true and Attorney General Barr knew in the spring about the Biden investigation and kept it quiet — he should be fired by the end of business today."

Starnes is a POS. He claims to be a Christian but hates everyone with brown skin and he has openly told people to never wear a mask or social distance. Todd is so far to the right, Fox News fired him and he has railed against Tucker Carlson for not being right wing enough. I follow Todd on Twitter, have been for a long time. He's a horrible human being... But I did love watching him get dragged for his toaster oven tantrum..read some of the replies for a good laugh..

I loved this part of the article:

Barr came into office in early 2019 enrobed in the hope, even among many Democrats, that he would serve as a guardrail for a reckless president. Now Barr’s critics, including hundreds of former Justice Department officials, want him to resign in shame. “I don’t really care what the public thinks — or especially the media and, you know, the political class,” Barr told us. His Catholic faith, he continued, gives him “a solid grounding and a balance. It’s one of the reasons I really don’t care what people think.”

The man is in an appointed position of public service, and doesn't care what people think?

Somewhere along the line, his personal agenda surpassed the real meaning of the job to which he was appointed.  Real men and women of honor and courage and high moral character will always be true to themselves and still find a fundamental and meaningful way to tackle a moral dilemma.  Barr's choice was to bow to the never-ending whims of an unstable man.  He is mistaken if he thinks decent Americans are going to forget.

Bottom line:  Whether he resigns, is fired, or just skates until January 20th, I don't really care.  It doesn't matter to me how he goes as long as he goes.  The good news is that the non-disclosure agreement that Trump had him sign is going to mean diddly poo when it comes time to explain and defend the actions he took during his brief tenure.

Let me just guess here--you have no proof for that wild-ass claim, right?

Amiright?

A credible link could convince me--if only one existed!

Here you go.

As William Barr, President Donald Trump's attorney general nominee, awaits a Senate vote to confirm his move to the top of the Justice Department, his daughter and son-in-law, both Justice Department employees, are on their way to different jobs.
Mary Daly, Barr's oldest daughter and the director of Opioid Enforcement and Prevention Efforts in the deputy attorney general's office, is leaving for a position at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Treasury Department's financial crimes unit, a Justice official said.
Tyler McGaughey, the husband of Barr's youngest daughter, has been detailed from the powerful US attorney's office in Alexandria, Virginia, to the White House counsel's office, two officials said.
You should read the whole article.  It's really good.

also, via earphone outlet, you can hook ANY speakers up for audio

Here in Yuma, we have a modest condo, with one room reserved for guests. So I have only a tiny desk, tucked into a corner of that guest room. Fortunately, I'm a fan of SFF (small form factor) computers (which I assemble myself). My Yuma computer is way more powerful than I ever need, but it fits in a case the size of a cereal box. Our el-cheapo printer is in the living room, since Hélène uses it more than I... which isn't much.

sandy....if looks like Walmart had the Airpods. Take a look at these, and with fast shipping.

I shop at lot at Walmart these days rather than mess with going to the store, and they are really good at their delivery. Usually within a couple of days, or perhaps a week.

You might try giving them a look-see. Their pricing varies depending on what you are looking for. They might have the answer for you to get here before Christmas, and you could return the ones from the other company when they arrive for a refund.

Glad to hear that the Airpods are on their way and hope that they arrive as promised. I have not encountered but one item I ordered from Amazon that they said was lost, and they gave me a refund. Like you it wasn't anything I needed right way so I just took the refund, waited a week, and ordered the item again. That one got delivered as promised.

With Walmart, the only item I had lost was Special Kitty cat litter. I ordered 4 of them and only received 3. I waited a day or so to see if it would show up, but, it never did. So I called and they gave me a refund. That kitty litter is the only one my Yoda Girl likes, as it is low dust and odorless. And it is much less expensive than the other brands. So that makes us both happy.

Trump and Barr, huh?

As far as Barr, in a short while he will be somewhere else.  I assume he has already contracted lawyers if the need arises.

As far as Trump.  In a short while he also will be somewhere else.  But, on his journey to where ever that will be he has been burning every and any bridge he comes across.  And the alliances he has been making and depending on abstractly reminds me of a scene in the movie, "Enemy At The Gates."   ( If you know what I'm referring to-----respond. )
