You are marooned on a desert island. What 5 songs would you like to have with you?
You have to listen to the same five songs and no others while you are marooned on a desert island. Which five would you choose? Name less than five if you want, but please keep it to four or less just for the sake of being forced to choose. We realize that next week you might come up with five different songs.
AMAZING GRACE - Alan Jackson
CONSTANT CRAVING - K D Lang
THE GOOD LIFE - Tony Bennett
HEARD IT IN A LOVE SONG - Marshall Tucker Band
MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY - Bobby Darin
I wouldn't have to take this song with me. For some reason it always pops into my head.
I like big butts and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny...
LMAO!!
I need more than 5 songs. More like at least 10
I couldn't condense. So many.
Helpless - Neil Young (with The Band and Joni Mitchell)
Suzanne - Leonard Cohen
While My Guitar Gently Weeps - George Harrison (The Beatles)
Don't Cry For Me, Argentina - Madonna (from Evita)
4th Movement, Beethoven's 9th Symphony - Ode to Joy (from Copying Beethoven)
If 5 is all you get you have to go for long songs. 1. Jethro Tull, Thick as a Brick 43:50. 2. The Allman Brothers Band, Mountain Jam 33:41. 3. Pink Floyd, Shine on You Crazy Diamond 26:01. 4. Rare Earth, Get Ready 21:30. 5. Iron Butterfly, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida 17:05.
That's a good plan.
I would have a lot more than 5, but these lead the list.
I think everyone has more than 5 . I could probably name 200 "favorite" songs. I kept it to five so people would post videos or at least a list instead of just saying "I have too many to name".
I could easily name 200, too. Probably a whole lot more.
This is really special, so I added it as a "bonus".
Sorry about the incorrect spelling of "George". That's how they had it on YouTube.
That was murder.... I had to kill about 100 songs.
"Everything That Touches You" is on my top list, too. What an amazing song. The Association had some really wonderful tunes. "Windy" is my favorite along with "Everything That Touches You". I could definitely have put both songs on my top 5.
A Day in the Life: The Beatles
Levon: Elton John
Riders on the Storm: The Doors
Losing my religion: R.E.M.
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes: Paul Simon
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (Official Video)
Seal - Crazy (Official Music Video) | Warner Vault
[Joni Mitchell] Twisted
I Will Survive (Extended Version)
Pharrell Williams - Happy (Official Video)
Happy!
You got an (Happy!) earworm now. Enjoy it, G'!
You know I like that song, CB.
Ok, I thought about it and decided to pick one.
As I am lying on the beach, emaciated and dehydrated, with crabs picking at me, in my half dead delusional state, I can listen to this and dream that I am sailing away...
.
Fantasy, it gets the best of me, when I'm sailing...
