Greene doubled down Saturday night and insisted “any rational Jewish person” should oppose mask mandates.
Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R- WY) blasted colleague Marjorie Taylor Greene (R- GA) for her wild comments comparing the House mask mandate to the Holocaust.
In a Thursday Newsmax appearance , Greene called Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D- CA) “mentally ill” and said, “You know, we can look back in a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star and they were definitely treated like second class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany. And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about.”
(Not that most people need to hear this clarification, but these are in no way comparable.)
Greene was widely condemned for those remarks, including from Cheney, who called them “evil lunacy.”

Honestly, and this is not because I disagree with her politically or cannot stand her personally, she is everything that is wrong with American politics right now. She has no interest in legislating or governing in any way, she is there purely to grab media attention and for self-enrichment. It doesn’t matter if what she is doing is constructive or serving her constituents/the country, as long as it drives clicks and gets her name/face in the news.
Being opposed to legislation or policies is fine, but you have to offer an alternative. Otherwise all you are doing is whining and obstructing for the sake of whining and obstructing, that is not beneficial or conducive to good governance. And that is all she does, she is yet to propose any real ideas or solutions of her own for ANY issue facing the country.
We have way too many people like that serving as elected officials and with our current system it only takes a few to pretty much grind everything to halt and make our government ineffective.
I've known other Conservatives that would agree with you..And some of them consider themselves to be very Conservative!
Something I think some people realize, but many don't: having sensible people who favour your cause speak out is a plus. But having someone of your party or cause who's a total nutcase does not help you or your cause-- in fact it helps the other Party!

I've read things that claim the Holocaust never happened-- it was just a typical Zionist Hoax to gain sympathy.

When I was around 7 or 8, I had an elderly woman as a neighbor. I noticed one day a series of numbers tattooed on her forearm. I asked her what they meant and before she told me, she asked that my mother be there to hear the story. She was the only survivor in her family that was rescued from Auschwitz. As she told her story, I began to silently cry as did my mother. When she was finished, I ran to her and hugged her tightly to me, not wanting to let go. After that, I made it my mission to help her with any chores or errands a child could handle. She also made me some delicious foods from her homeland. My fav was her matzo ball soup.

Doesn't the Holocaust Museum have a display of shoes that were taken from the victims? Maybe she should at least go visit that and get an idea of what the Holocaust really was

These are a couple of display windows there in Auschwitz.... There are others filled with hair, confiscated pots and pans, teeth, and thousands of empty cannisters of Zyklon B.

When I was in the military my first duty station was in Germany and while there I went to Dachau (1959) and took some photos of what was there, those photos went into a box and put away, I opened the box and showed my kids the photos and another from another time period but horrible as well. I told them never forget the photos no matter what idiots say about them. They went back into the box and have not been opened since.
