Jim Jordan has been on numerous televised House committees , so people have seen him in action. He is obstructionist and partisan to the nth degree. Although his appearance at this committee would have been entertaining tv viewing, it would lower the gravity of the proceedings.

She rejected them because they both voted against certifying the results of the legal election of Biden of POTUS, the same sentiments of the very insurrectionists that caused the 1/6 disaster at the Capital. That was a no-brainer.

That's not true, Ed.  They tried for an independent commission, which would have required bipartisan participation.  The Republicans voted it down.  She is now excluding from the committee those who may well have been involved in the commission of the crimes.

May 12th.  I have posted the links before from you tube.

The Capitol Insurrection: Unexplained Delays and Unanswered Questions | House Committee on Oversight and Reform

Starts out fairly well then Rep Comer (R), wishing for objectivity, goes off the rails about Pelosi.

Predictable.

Then it actually made it went to the Senate to die by filibuster.

Also predictable.

Pelosi objects to Jim Jordan, Jim Banks serving on Jan. 6 select committee - Axios

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that she   rejects   House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy's naming of Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Jim Banks (R-Ind.) to the select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, citing their objection to President Biden's Electoral College victory.

Why it matters:   The move is likely to draw fierce condemnation from pro-Trump Republicans who had already opposed a congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 riots.

  • Pelosi said she accepted McCarthy's recommendation to appoint Reps. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.) and Troy Nehls (R-Texas), and requested that he recommend two other members to replace Jordan and Banks.

What they're saying:

“Monday evening, the Minority Leader recommended 5 Members to serve on the Select Committee.  I have spoken with him this morning about the objections raised about Representatives Jim Banks and Jim Jordan and the impact their appointments may have on the integrity of the investigation.  I also informed him that I was prepared to appoint Representatives Rodney Davis, Kelly Armstrong and Troy Nehls, and requested that he recommend two other Members.
“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee.

Pelosi wants only Republicans that suffer from severe TDS; or that she can run roughshod over.

Bipartisan commission, what utter BS.

Hopefully the next Speaker grabs the gavel from Nancy's hand and announces a commission into all of her abuses of the office.

There's a reason she rejected them.  They aren't part of the group that will mill about completely oblivious and just go with it.  Jim Jordan alone is a threat to her "select committee".  He's not one that will just sit by and keep quiet while Pelosi pushes her BS.

Calling this bipartisan is just as dishonest as Pelosi.

I couldn't care less whether she interferes or not. The GOP had the chance to support a Bipartisan committee and they chose not to do so. Now they want to whine about Pelosi using her authority to seat a Committee and to decide who will sit on it.

BTW, when Boehner set up the Benghazi Committee, he stated that the Administration refusing to honor subpoenas was unacceptable.

Let's see if McCarthy agrees to testify or if he will force the Committee to subpoena him. Will he demand that the DOJ defend him against a subpoena?

Same question for Lee, Tuberville, Jordon, Brooks ect, ect.

I can't wait till Gen. Milley testifies under oath...

Objectively, Banks and Jordan, both of whom voted to reject the election results, do not belong on this committee. They are more suitable as suspects than as investigators.

Lynn Cheney has said she confronted Jordan on the House floor on Jan 6th and berated him for having helped cause the riot.

Holy crap.  You guys are hopeless.  Now McCarthy is ”threatening” to pull all his picks and form their own investigative committee.  Wouldn’t that be rich?  How do you guys expect to attract anyone with half a brain to your party?  It’s bad enough that you are actively trying to kill your current base with antivax messaging, but attracting new constituents generally doesn’t happen when you openly advertise how blind and ignorant your party can be when left to their own devices.

What McCarthy did was deliberate. He knew full well that Pelosi would not accept those two Trumpturds and he could then remove all the other GOP members and then claim she is the fault of the failure of the Committee. It is as plain as daylight, and he gets a pat on the head from Trump and his other lapdogs.
