Biden's African Ban

Biden's African Ban
"We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus," Biden tweeted as a presidential candidate last year the day after Trump imposed travel restrictions from China into the United States. "We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency."

On Friday of this past week, Biden & his handlers implemented a travel ban on South Africa and seven other African countries over what the World Health Organization has christened as the "Omicron" variant. The WHO was late in detecting it and Biden is not imposing the ban until Monday. Currently identified as B.1.1.529, the new variant has also been found in Botswana and Hong Kong in travelers from South Africa.

African officials have lashed out at the new travel ban, saying that the continent was again bearing the brunt of panicked policies from Western countries and that vaccine hoarding helped pave the way to this crisis. That must mean that the third worls expects the first world to share the vaccine?  Interesting...

Of course, the bigger story is a political one. Trump instituted a travel ban from some of these same countries for many of the very same reasons. Trump at the start of 2020, when COVID-19 began spreading throughout the world, restricted travel from China and an additional six countries including Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania.  Now, a year and a half later, Biden is replicating what he himself called "racist" by implementing his own travel restrictions from African countries.

Biden has used race to get himself elected. He is a race baiter and a hypocrite.

As for the new variant: "After a period of relatively low transmission in which South Africa recorded just over 200 new confirmed cases per day, in the past week the daily new cases rapidly increased to more than 1,200 on Wednesday. On Thursday they jumped to 2,465."

"A wall will not stop the coronavirus," Biden tweeted in March of 2020. "Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it. This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it."

For the same reason T Rump was a "xenophobic bigot and racist" when he ordered travel bans... I mean we were all schooled that ordering travel bans against anyone with the virus coming here was a huge example of racial hate by the liberal members of the board and main stream media?

You don't remember that?

2 words.  Travel.  Ban.

Trump was not a xenophobic bigot and racist because he called for a travel ban, it's because he called for a Muslim ban.

Donald Trump called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Rudy Giuliani confirmed that the later 'travel ban' was really just a disguised Muslim ban when he said “So when (Donald) first announced it, he said ‘Muslim ban.’ He called me up. He said, ‘Put a commission together. Show me the right way to do it legally.'”

So Biden authorizing travel bans from countries that have virus outbreaks or new variant outbreaks has ZERO to do with race or religion.

Trumps Muslim ban was specifically intended to ban Muslims from entering the country proving he is a fucking xenophobic bigoted racist much like many of his sycophantic followers who cheered when he announced his intention to ban Muslims.

Anyone with more than half a brain can clearly see the difference between the two.

This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.

It was said way back when this pandemic and fearathon started that ultimately, Covid 19 was going to wind up just like the common cold or the flu... Everyone who said it or repeated it were called crazy and insane...

The common cold, every human on the planet catches it as some point, there is no vaccine cause it mutates too rapidly and is especially virulent when airborne... The Flu, each year we have a new vaccine for the latest variant it has mutated into...

Covid 19... Especially virulent when airborne, mutates faster than the flu, it appears about on a 6 month cycle.... probably will slow down as it get older, spreads worldwide, and more humans are exposed to it...

They come out with a new vaccine every year for the flu, and the drug companies are doing the same for Covid 19...

They say the common cold kills just over 50k per year mostly the very young in undeveloped nations, the flu kills .5 -.6 million a year mostly elderly, in the US alone even with vaccines....

The common cold is something we are not afraid of, the flu is not something we are afraid of...

Why are we afraid of Covid 19????

Could it possibly be all the lies that have been said about it? could it possibly be that it was created in a lab in china using US government funds? the fact that is is a created virus Genetically engineered to see just how virulent it can get?

My question is this, why is the government so afraid of it?

Many people including me last year was saying that it is here to stay we will never be rid of it they cannot exterminate it the same as they haven't exterminated smallpox... (which they were constantly claiming) Until it was revealed that last year Canada purchased 70k doses of smallpox vaccine to replenish it's supply of expired doses... If smallpox has been eradicated as a threat to humans then why does every developed nation maintain a supply of the vaccine for instant deployment?

So we are going to have to live with it and the threat of catching it for all eternity....

Common sense says we need to get on with life, so why is the government pushing the overblown fear? it will soon be two years....

Insanity is the only explanation, or in the alternative, we can all live like Howard Hughes finished out his life, a recluse locked away in his two floors in Vegas only one person allowed to see him, (his private attendant) because he was afraid of catching a germ that might kill him.... Yes Howard Hughes became a germaphobe in his later life... And was called insane....

Are we all to wind up the same way? germaphobes afraid of going outside or seeing anyone else?

Seems like that is what the government wants....

At lease we don't see the death count in the lower right hand of the screen on MSNBC or CNN anymore. I assume that ended the day Biden became president. The strange part of that is that more Americans died of covid in the 10 months that Biden was president than all of 2020 AND Biden has the Trump vaccine!

So you are absolutely correct, there is a lot of politics in this and yes, we are probably going to have to live with a very unique virus....one that mutates as if...it..was man-made!

The Spanish flu is a variant of the H1N1 influenza A virus Vic. It hasn't 'disappeared'.

Oh and BTW Vic, the 4th wave of Spanish flu had a HIGHER mortality rate than the 1st wave so it sure as fuck doesn't look like it got 'weaker'.

As I replied to one of your prior comments, that's a lot of FAIL in one sentence.

jrSmiley_84_smiley_image.gif

I prefer facts.

Origins of the Spanish Influenza pandemic (1918–1920) and its relation to the First World War (nih.gov)

The first pandemic wave, which was benign and caused few deaths, took place in the spring of 1918. After a period of calm at the beginning of the summer of 1918, the virus mutated, becoming extremely virulent, and simultaneously caused millions of deaths throughout the world during the following months of October and November. A milder third wave occurred during the initial months of 1919, while the fourth and final wave spread during the first months of 1920 . The majority of those who died were young, healthy adults between the ages of 15 and 44. Mortality rates varied between countries and continents, but mortality in Europe has been estimated to be 1.1% ( Ansart et al, 2009 ) and 1.2% ( Erkoreka, 2006 )

The 1920 mortality rate from the Spanish Flu in US cities was HIGHER than from previous waves.

The whole thing is a pointless gesture. The ban should have been effective immediately. Instead, they decided to wait for THREE FUCKING DAYS. WHY?????

In the meantime, as those days pass, they now have over 60 cases of this new variant in the Netherlands. They also have cases in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. Banning travel from Africa is thoroughly useless. The damned thing is probably already in America, and Fauci said as much himself yesterday.

By the way, this has been Fauci on responding to the new variant:

Thursday : We don’t need a travel ban. There’s no basis for it. Also, There is no indication the variant is in the US.

Friday : We need a travel ban, but let’s not put it in place for three more days.

Saturday : It’s probably already here.

Smooth, Doc!

I am sure he knows it is already in the US; as no travel ban will stop the crossings at our wide open southern border; where the vast majority of illegals are not immunized- nor are they required to be. They are coming in from all over the world; including terrorists.

Biden’s root causes strategy ignores illegal crossers from countries other than Central America and Mexico, and the number of illegal crossers from the other countries has been increasing rapidly. It more than tripled from fiscal 2014 to fiscal 2019, increasing from 37,000 per fiscal year to 118,000.

And their numbers have continued to rise.

CBP statistics indicate that 57,690 of the 342,673 illegal crossers who were apprehended at the southern border in March and April of this year were not from northern triangle countries or Mexico. At this rate, the yearly total of aliens from other countries will likely be more than 346,000, which would be almost three times as many as in fiscal 2019.

The diversity of the illegal crossers is reflected further by the fact that at least 40 different languages were spoken by the nearly 30,000 asylum seekers who were waiting in Mexico for an asylum hearing as of the end of March 2021.

The “other countries” category includes international terrorists

The administration claims that Republican warnings about terrorist crossings don’t accurately capture how unlikely it is that international terrorists will access the United States through the U.S.-Mexico border.

Alex Nowrasteh , from the Cato Institute , says , "The notion that the Southwest border is open to terrorists is ludicrous."

But CBP recently announced the arrest of two Yemeni men who were on the Terrorist Watch List and the No-Fly List .

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has acknowledged that aliens referred to as “ known or suspected terrorists ” (KSTs) have tried to enter the United States by air and across land borders this year and in previous years. Mayorkas says that DHS’ multi layered security apparatus has made it possible to successfully identify and prevent KSTs from entering the United States.

You won’t find much information about these operations in the news media. The most comprehensive source of information I have found is Todd Bensman ’s book, “ America's Covert Border War: The Untold Story of The Nation's Battle to Prevent Jihadist Infiltration .”

Bensman managed teams of intelligence analysts in the Texas Department of Public Safety's Intelligence and Counterterrorism Division for nine years.

He says in his book that Islamic extremists — and others who are associated with terrorist organizations — cross the U.S. southern border with the help of specialized global smuggling networks.

Bensman says our government has been deploying counterterrorism programs at the southern border and throughout Latin America since 9/11, and they have succeeded in shielding America from the bloodshed Europe has suffered since organized terrorist border infiltrations began there in 2015.

He doesn’t know how much longer these programs can stave off Europe’s fate without public recognition that they exist, and the care and attention they deserve.

By the numbers: Last month, the Border Patrol encountered more than 33,000 people crossing into the U.S. from nations other than Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, according to Department of Homeland Security data .
  • That's up from about 9,000 in January.

  • It's also an increase of 35% from March — even as numbers from the Northern Triangle fell slightly during that time period. It's also 2.5 times the number who crossed in June 2019, which was the highest month of the previous three fiscal years.

  • 30% of all family members who crossed the border in April came from these less-typical countries of origin.

Between the lines: Most are adults or families, rather than unaccompanied minors. They often fly into Central American countries before traveling through Mexico to the border, multiple experts said.

  • Border agents have encountered migrants from more than 160 countries in recent months, the New York Times reported, with notable spikes in Ecuadorians, Brazilians and Venezuelans.

  • Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) told Axios that when he visited the border with other Republican colleagues this month, they witnessed a family of five Romanians surrendering to Border Patrol officers in Yuma, Arizona.

  • A Reuters photographer has reportedly witnessed nearly 200 Romanians crossing the border into Texas.

  • Border Patrol officers have encountered an unaccompanied 1-year-old from Ecuador, two teenagers from Bangladesh, a 14-year-old from India and a 17-year-old from Armenia during recent days, according to government data provided to Axios.

Biden can put every travel ban in place he wants. Until he shuts down the southern border it is all a wasted effort.

It was most likely here by the time they found it in SA. I first came across articles on Saturday morning and basically no one know shit. There were a lot of "might" or "may be" in those articles. Also at the rate poorer countries are not getting vaccines we aren't going to make much headway against variants anyway. It really does seem pointless.

They’re certainly not going to be 100% because the incubation period between infection and symptoms is too long. Still, there is an argument to be made that travel bans could slow the spread while we figure out what the hell we’re dealing with. I just don’t understand why anybody thinks it’s a smart idea to wait three days, or why you don’t just shut all borders once you realize the thing could be anywhere.

So... Trump wasn't called a racist for the travel bans?

You claimed that the travel ban was 'how' he was labeled a racist.
I stated the fact that he was rightfully labeled a racist long before that.
The travel ban was just more shit on top of the pile of his racist acts.

Gots a question brother...

Why is it that if you or I used the term "Nigger" in a post the liberal side would be all over us like stink on dung...

But one of their side uses it and "CRICKETS"

They still to this day haven't explained LBJ's usage of it when he was saying they were stupider than a box of rocks and sheep to be lead around by the nose... (he's still a great man and president)

If it was a racist act for T Rump, it's a racist act for Biden.... the purpose of the act doesn't change because of the person doing it, (or their politics)

Not to progressive liberals. If Trump did it, bad, if Biden did it, great.

And the thing is, the act committed could be the exact same thing!

Well if they are allowing the defamation of Jesus Christ, why wouldn't they allow the N word?

Then you said:

He's the one spouting that defaming Jesus is worse than racism...but this is the first time he's ever even mentioned anything regarding Christianity. Only Christians are actually offended by my favorite phrase.

Allow me: During the Vietnam War they needed everybody they could get into the military (and I mean everybody).  And like everything else, the boomers overwhelmed the institutions that should have civilized them. Roy Moore, who you may have forgotten explained it best. He was assigned to this position in 1971, near the end of the war when the US Army and Marines were having discipline issues due to the high number of soldiers with drug addictions or mental imbalances which made them dangerous.  In his autobiography, he wrote that the use of drugs was so prevalent, he issued many disciplinary charges against his men with an emphasis on targeting drug abusers. This earned him fragging threats.

I think that is when the Army learned that when you deal with shit you end up covered with it.

Or did they?

Honestly I don't see travel bans working. With as connected as the world is by the time we even identify a new variant or virus odds are it is already here. Unless we completely seal ourselves off from the world (not even slightly practical) imposing travel bans on specific countries to keep out a virus is a useless gesture.
