Trump's Treason
Here's where we come to the treasonous smoking gun: Trump explicitly frames his request to Putin as an act of retaliation not just against Biden, but against the United States itself. Some accounts leave out the key phrase that Trump uses when he explains why Putin might help him. "As long as Putin is not exactly a fan of our country... I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it... you won't get the answer from Ukraine... I think Putin now would be...

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Trump asks Putin for a favor (again)

Donald Trump has exhausted our vocabulary of outrage and I'm trying to cut down on my use of obscenities for Lent. So, it is difficult to describe the sheer revolting awfulness of this:

Amid widespread criticism of his praise for Russian President Vladimir Putin, former President Donald Trump publicly called on Putin on Tuesday to release any dirt he might have on Hunter Biden, the president's son.

This was not taken out of context, nor was it a gotcha take. His own spokeswoman enthusiastically tweeted out his plea to Putin:

Liz Harrington @realLizUSA Exclusive: Trump calls on Putin to release info on Hunter Biden's dealings with oligarchs Exclusive: Trump calls on Putin to release info on Hunter Biden's dealings with oligarchs"I think we should know that answer," America's 45th president says.justthenews.com

March 29th 2022

It is as if he is recapitulating all of his most egregious scandals — from "Russia, if you're listening" to "I would like you to do us a favor"— multiplied by a factor of genocide.

And daring us to do something about it.

Trump, writes Aaron Blake, continues to play his greatest hits. "And the hits apparently include seeing just how long his party and supporters will tolerate his treating a man they hate as a legitimate political ally. Because, as always, the point is winning."

In the interview, Trump focused on allegations that Hunter Biden received millions of dollars from the wife of Moscow's late mayor, Yury Luzhkov.

Trump complains that Ukraine won't dish the dirt on Biden — "Now, you won't get the answer from Ukraine," he says — but thinks that Putin might.

"She gave him $3.5 million, so now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it," Trump said. "I think we should know that answer."

Even as Trump spoke, Putin was waging a war of unremitting terror that has killed thousands of Ukrainians. The West has rallied to oppose him, and nearly every American political figure — from both parties — has denounced the Russian thug.

And it is at this moment, amidst a brutal war of aggression, that Trump once again reached out for Putin's help in attacking the sitting American president and, by extension, this country.

I think Putin now would be willing to probably give that answer."

As long as Putin is not exactly a fan of our country... said the former and perhaps future president at a time of international conflict.

Now commenceth my rant.

  • Republicans, defend this. Go ahead. Try. Don't dodge or hedge. Defend your leader's partnership in slime and blood with Vladimir Putin.

  • Tell me again that he learned his lesson.

  • Explain again that you think the whole Russia thing was a hoax.

  • Justify putting this defeated, disgraced, twice-impeached deplorable back in the Oval Office.

  • And make the case for giving the nuclear codes back to this scabrous traitor.

Putin’s Russian State Media Declare Trump As Their ‘Partner’ & Suggest Biden Should Be Overthrown

3-4 minutes   Invalid Date

F ollowing President Joe Biden’s remarks during his speech in Warsaw about the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin have seemingly put the Kremlin on edge.

Now, it seems, the elite of Russia have had enough of their rocky relationship with the United States and wish to return to an administration that views Putin and his government more favorably.

Russian State media’s administration of choice? The Trump administration.

Russian state media was Moscow's ‘partner’ Donald Trump back in office.

The Kremlin's media have been speaking ill of Biden after his recent speech in Warsaw in which he said, i n a reportedly unscripted conclusion to his speech, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power."

This comment sent ripples through the world and garnered much praise and also some criticism.

Biden has gone on to state that   he would not be walking his statement back   but clarified that his comment was a personal opinion and did not reflect the plans or policies of the United States, saying, “I just was expressing my outrage.”

State media referred to Trump as a 'partner' in a call for an overthrow of the United States government.

It seems that the President’s words have the entire Kremlin clutching their pearls, including a   state TV personality who went so far as to say , “It's time for us, our people, to call on the people of the United States to change the regime in the U.S. early, and to again help our partner, Trump, to become president.”

The Trump administration has been fighting accusations of favoritism and consorting with the brutal Russian regime since before Trump’s first impeachment.

At the very least, this seems to indicate that the Russian media, an extension of the Russian government, views Trump very favorably.

Trump asked Russia for dirt on Hunter Biden.

In a recent interview, Donald Trump   called on Putin to release dirt on Hunter Biden   while discussing his alleged illicit dealings with Russian oligarchs, saying, “I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it. I think we should know that answer.”

It is unclear if there is any credence at all to these accusations, but the Kremlin hasn’t released any such information so far.

Unfortunately for Vladimir Putin, he’ll need to wait at least a couple more years before his comrade has another chance at the presidency, although Donald Trump seems to have exhibited a willingness to try to overthrow democracy before.

Truly, they were made for each other.

Remember when politics at least had some sort of strategy to it?  With Donald Trump there is no strategy - every statement is just a Tourette’s level reflex with zero concern for how easily it will be disproven.  Of course Putin wants that for the US.  He wants the US to fail even more spectacularly than the USSR, and Donald Trump is the quickest means to those ends.

I heard an interesting take on this yesterday. It goes like this -

The political right takes the position that the true enemies of the nation are not foreign, such as Russia, but rather are domestic, as in "wokeism" and "socialism" and "CRT".  Therefore, according to this take, the right is justified in siding with Putin and making him their ally, because the true danger is much closer to home.

I think that take has a lot going for it.

The political right takes the position that the true enemies of the nation are not foreign, such as Russia, but rather are domestic, as in "wokeism" and "socialism" and "CRT".

It's because being "woke" aka aware or alert to injustice exposes right wing ideology that is founded on injustice. Their issue with CRT and socialism are part of that with CRT supposedly exposing children to real unvarnished American history (I say supposedly because its not actually being taught in K-12 regardless of the many mental midgets who claim otherwise) and their claim that any social program to help minorities thrive (which is counter to their status quo of injustice) is somehow "socialism". The right wing religious conservative ideology is really only designed to help/support white conservative Christians, so the idea of working to help others (atheists, Muslims, lgtbq Americans, minorities etc.) with their resources is anathema to them. It's counter to their entire white conservative Christian fantasy of being the holy warriors for Christ who will kill all of their enemies (aka anyone who isn't a right wing conservative Christian) in their coming hoped for Armageddon. I believe most right wing conservative Christians appreciate injustice as long as it's kneeling on the necks of those they despise, so of course they would be bitterly opposed to "wokeism".

If I had a dollar for every time a "conservative" here has asked a stupid question or asked for "proof" of something , I could take a nice vacation to Hawaii with the money.

They either don't know how to or are incapable of engaging the issues in question in any sort of adult way. What we end up with is what I call babble, just basically meaningless complaint or grammar school level "ridicule" emanating from their comments in a slow torturous drip.

They can't do better, or they don't want to because the facts in most cases are so against them. When you don't have the facts all that is left is to try and turn it into a food fight.

The idea that a former US president would seek help from a foreign dictator against domestic political opponents is something out of "thriller" fiction and belongs in a limited series on Netflix or HBO, not as a reality facing the nation.

We are so far off track, and will remain that way until Republicans/conservatives decide to work up the strength to tell Trump to go to hell.

Gee.  Remember when Trump said he was getting phone calls from housewives that were complaining 'they had to flush the toilet 15 times'?

There is links for that-------and all jokes aside.  What in the hell was he talking about?  And was the president of the US really taking phone calls from people complaining about their toilets?

Nothing has been proven in a court of law other than in the kangaroo court of public opinion the liberal left is engaging in on a routine basis. When Trump is arrested, convicted, and sentenced in a real court of law on legitimate and provable charges, then those on the left screaming treason can crow. Until then they got nothing other than innuendo and conjecture. I am not a Trump fan and never have been, but I want to see the same legal and legitimate process used to prosecute Trump as I would any other American and I'm not seeing it.

Where in this story does it say anything about putting Trump on trial for treason?  The idea that he is "innocent" because he hasnt been indicted and convicted of a crime is ridiculous.

He asked an enemy dictator, during wartime, to help him discredit his political opponent.

Do you need a ton of bricks to fall on you?

I think you need to reread the article John. My point is  that treason, in the legal sense, must be proven in a court of law. With that in mind, The legal system in this country says that all are presumed innocent of a crime until proven guilty in a court of law. Google Burden of Proof statues. Are you saying you disagree with said presumption? Sounds like it.

As far as his alleged request to a enemy dictator, prove that what he did was illegal. Unethical and possibly immoral, but not illegal, just like alleged "smoking guns". Again, let it be proven in a legitimate court of law either way.

As far as a ton of bricks falling on me, I'm not the one that needs to worry about that.

Point out where in the article the writer mentions the legal definition of treason. I'll help you, it doesnt.

Defend Trump about his desire to collaborate with Putin or condemn him , but stop talking about something that is not part of the discussion.  Right wingers keep talking about legal definitions of words because they dont want to face the horrible truth of their orange god.

That is , exactly, what the writer says. He quotes Trump saying ""As long as Putin is not exactly a fan of our country... I would think Putin would know the answer to that" , meaning that because the US and Putin are at serious odds Putin will be more likely to help Trump. In other words the conflict between the US and Russia might be a motivator for Putin to help Trump.

What would our enemy Putin get out of it?  He would get the benefit of trump using the information to try and diminish the president of the United States, which Putin would love to see happen during a time period that President Biden is aiding Ukraine.

Will someone please tell me what the fuck is wrong with you people?

His most egregious act of treason was what he did after the election — his attack on the constitution and the republic itself. As a sitting president, no less. Few things could be more treasonous than that. I literally can't believe that he still has so many boot-licking supporters. He's still the defacto leader of the Republican Party for crying out loud, which is absolutely astonishing, and the biggest indicator yet of how F'd up this country truly is.

I don't recall any "leftist" mob attacking the capital before the 2017 inauguration in an attempt to stop the certification of Trump as President. Do you? I don't recall Hillary refusing to concede for, what is it now, a year and a half? I don't remember the Clinton campaign declaring "Hillary won!" over and over after the election. Hillary conceded on November 9th, 2016. Here is a snippet of her concession speech:

" Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans. This is not the outcome we wanted or we worked so hard for and I’m sorry that we did not win this election for the values we share and the vision we hold for our country. But I feel pride and gratitude for this wonderful campaign that we built together, this vast, diverse, creative, unruly, energized campaign. You represent the best of America and being your candidate has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

I know how disappointed you feel because I feel it too, and so do tens of millions of Americans who invested their hopes and dreams in this effort. This is painful and it will be for a long time, but I want you to remember this. Our campaign was never about one person or even one election, it was about the country we love and about building an America that’s hopeful, inclusive and big-hearted .

We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought. But I still believe in America and I always will. And if you do, then we must accept this result and then look to the future. Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead. "

And here are snippets of Donald Trumps concession speech:

"..................................................................."

Oh wait, he still hasn't conceded a year and a half later.

So no, no one with more than half a brain would agree that Hillary or her supporters "are/were guilty of treason" based on their actions after the 2016 elections. Now half witted dip shit right wing conservatives with their heads and necks shoved up dirty Donald's voluminous ass probably aren't intelligent enough to see the stark differences in how each candidate handled losing an election, but that's their fucking problem isn't it.

There were hundreds and hundreds of protests and demonstrations prior to the 2016 election and in the years that followed. There were instances of assault between protestors and trump supporters and some of these resulted in arrests. There were only a couple of events that were actually considered "riots". Portland Oregon and one in Albuquerque, NM.

I live in  the Portland area and the riots and looting and destruction of private and public property went on for months. LEOs were blinded by lasers and had rocks and  bites thrown at them. Fire bombs were thrown into occupied government buildings. One car dealership had dozens of cars destroyed. The riots on Jan 6 was a protest the hot out of hand and only one was killed (a protester) was killed. The Jan 6th protesters have been identified using facial id. No such procedures were used to I'd Portland rioters. Jan 6yh protester were held without bail or on high bail. Portland protesters that were arrested mostly had the charges dropped.

Well half your statement was true, the supposed "Clinton mob did not attack the capital". The rest of your comment is pure unadulterated BULLSHIT!

Hillary and her supporters did attempt to subvert the Electoral College process by encouraging electors to be faithless.

Can you please quote Hillary asking anyone to be a "faithless elector"? Do you have any evidence anyone on the Clinton campaign asked anyone to be a "faithless elector"?

Don't worry, you don't have to answer, I already checked and the answer is of course "NO!".

Did some fringe Hollywood actors like Debra Messing call on the electors to challenge the vote after Hillary conceded? Yes, yes they did, but none of them were taken seriously and the Clinton campaign had nothing to do with them.

So unless anyone can quote Hillary or any of her official campaign staff demanding the electors change their votes, I can only assume anyone coming up with such a wild false accusation must have a soft spot on their skull that was repeatedly punched, prodded and smacked because how else can you explain such brain dead ignorant moronic conclusions.

Please, you're expressing nothing but partisan impotent rage and finding excuses to disparage the current administration. Has the current administration not only asked but implied the withholding of aid if a foreign country didn't give them dirt on Republicans? Has the current administration called Putin's criminal invasion of Ukraine "genius" or called Putin "savvy" as he bombs civilians? Did the current administration negotiate with the Taliban to withdraw troops from Afghanistan?

" The Doha  agreement signed  in February 2020 , set a date for the US to fully  withdraw  troops by May 2021"

Trump is no longer president  and had no power.

Yeah, lots of right wing conservatives keep trying to proclaim that Trump has no power yet they continue to cling like wet rats to the Trumptanic, refusing to accept that he lost the election and creaming their pants at the prospect that Trump will run again in 2024. He is the core of the Republican party as is evidence by the majority of the Republican party that refuses to criticize anything he ever did for fear of the backlash they would receive from his loyal sycophants.

Your fear and hatred has far surpassed sane levels.

I don't fear anyone on the right. I know who they are and what they stand for and while I recognize my responsibility to protect my family and friends from such dirty scum bags who desperately want to turn our nation into some right wing conservative Christian fascist State, I'm confidant that the majority of Americans will never let that happen and will metaphorically kick those fucking pieces of shit in the teeth when they try to rear their ugly heads.

No but when the current president implied that if a prosecutor in Ukraine was not fired and a criminal investigation concerning his son, he would see that  aid would be with held from the Ukrainians.

Biden did not have to honor that agreement. As it was he delayed it withdrawal for three months and royally screwed that up and abandoned American citizens, green card holders and others legally able to enter the US. What could the Taliban do? Call Biden a poopies head(they would have been right) and not like us?

Biden also "F'd" up our southern border by stopping the wall, allowing illegals to enter the country and spread them over the country and by ending article 42 and the stay in Mexico directive.

He has screwed up the oil industry by ending Trump's policies that made us not only energy independent but also an exporter of energy.

Under Biden inflation has hit highs we haven't seen in decades and the highest geul prices ever.

Biden is so afraid of Putin he is slow walking or denying all together the weapons Ukraine needs to successful chase the Russian out of their country.

Don't try and tell me how good biden's doing because both I and the majority of other people know what a piss poor president he is and many of those voted for him and are now having buyers remorse and would even like to see Trump back in office. Just like at the polls for the proof

No but when the current president implied that if a prosecutor in Ukraine was not fired and a criminal investigation concerning his son, he would see that  aid would be with held from the Ukrainians.

The removal of a corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor with close ties to the disgraced former President Yanukovych who had been embezzling from the people for years was part of our US State Departments stated goal, not just some personal request from Biden.

"Ukrainians were able to see for themselves the opulence of his palatial retreat, surrounded by 140 hectares (345 acres) of grounds. The estate, complete with sauna and private zoo, is a stark contrast with the grinding poverty that afflicts many Ukrainians.

Hundreds of documents were found in a nearby river, revealing lavish spending and alleged corruption."

Now, years later right wing conservatives and clearly pro-Russian fascists falsely accused President Biden of using his position as VP for personal gain, yet there is not only no evidence of any unethical behavior, the State Department supported and cleared President Biden of any wrongdoing.

"Charlie Kupchan" the "senior director for European Affairs on the National Security Council, said anti-corruption efforts were "a big part of our diplomacy" with Ukraine, since "it was that corruption that allowed Russia to manipulate the country politically and economically."

He went on to say "(Biden) was acting alongside our European allies. Everybody was of a single mind that this prosecutor was not the right guy for the job."

Also " Burisma Holdings was not under scrutiny at the time Joe Biden called for Shokin to be removed, per the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine , an independent agency that has worked closely with the FBI."

I'm not really surprised at the lies and corruption coming from right wing conservative pro-Russian fascists who have been doing Putin's dirty work for years would come up with such a bogus attack. It's just par for the course for these pieces of fascist filth. Anyone with more than half brain wasn't fooled by their deceit.

The rest of your tired attack on Biden, from the border, our energy independence and inflation are all just worthless partisan attacks coming from the same right wing conservative pro-Russian lying scum bags trying to twist anything and everything to make the current administration look bad just to soothe their bitter resentment at losing the election in 2020.

" Biden is so afraid of Putin he is slow walking or denying all together the weapons Ukraine needs to successful chase the Russian out of their country."

Just more partisan fantasy bullshit. Biden is working with our European allies and NATO doing as much as we can right now without putting any of our allies at greater risk. Biden doesn't fear Putin, he's simply rational enough to understand that being reckless with a rabid nuclear power backed into a corner would only lead to further civilian suffering and death.

Don't try and tell me how good biden's doing

I won't bother, it's clear some wouldn't know the truth if it smacked them in the face. The fact is Biden has made mistakes, he hasn't been able to get done what many of his supporters were expecting and the inability to get the "Build Back Better" bill passed has left him vulnerable to partisan attacks. He needs to do better and be more decisive and stop even trying to get Republicans to compromise since they will not change their policy of scorched earth.

Just like at the polls for the proof

The matter in question is the last president of the United States, out of office little more than a year, asking the dictator of a country that is an enemy of the US to help him discredit the family of his political rival, the current president. Trump is doing this asking in the middle of a brutal war in Europe started by the dictator Trump is trying to collaborate with.

The allegation of treason is within the seeded article, not hidden or opaque, but said in plain sentences.

Not a single right winger who responded to this seed has said whether or not they think it is acceptable for trump to be doing this. Not one. There are now 60 or so right wing comments on this seed, and NONE of them address what Trump did as right or wrong. They address what Trump did as an "obsession" with him from the left. Nothing about what TRUMP did, (which is literally the topic of the seed).

First Putin is not an enemy at least not in any formal way unless we declared war on Russia within the last few days that I don't know about. He may be an adversary and not a very nice man but not an enemy.

Second trying to find damaging info about ones political opponent's son is  not a treasonable offense.

Semantics. You dont have to formally be at war with someone for them to be your enemy. Opposition in a confrontational way is "enemy" behavior.

The United States is participating in this war through supplying materials of war to one of the combatants, Ukraine. We are opposed to Russia in this war, period. We are not neutral.  Trump proposed collaborating with our "enemy" in this war, which is ongoing. Many many people would describe that as treason whether you like it or not.

Trump being convicted of anything is not relevant because there is nothing in the article about Trump being charged or convicted of a crime.

Is it possible to murder someone without being charged or convicted?  If the indictment or conviction doesnt come did the murder never happen?

We all know the answer to that. The article not only accuses Trump of treason, it mentions specifically why. You can agree or not agree with the writer , fine, what you cant do is say the article is bogus because Trump hasnt been convicted. That position is ludicrous.

“…Trump is guilty…”

Didn’t you just contend he was irrelevant? But I tend to agree with both posits.

I am still looking for what treasonous act Trump is guilty of. Please use the definition of treason as given in the Constitution of the US

They can not do that.

Just one article after another of someone's opinion that they try to pawn off as fact until they get called on it.

Are you sure?

We have been told so many times now all about these infamous "smoking guns" that it is getting to be like the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf.

Democrats should either PUT UP or SHUT UP.

Either there is a mountain of real evidence against Trump and the Democrats are the world's worst prosecutors, or we have been lied to all along.

Guess I forgot the /s.

I understand there is 6 hours of missing phone records on Jan 6 and they have proof Trump ordered pizza and beer during that period so he could sit around and watch the festivities.  Brian Stelter said it so I am sure it is true.  That has to be worth another impeachment.

Maybe Trump spent the six hours composing his message to his followers at the riot late that afternoon

After a mob of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, President Trump downplayed the violence of the day and repeated his fraudulent claim that the election was stolen, but he also urged them to "go home."

In a Wednesday evening tweet, Trump wrote: "These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long."

"Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever! " he added.

The left keeps on flailing about treason and are just sadly disappointed their impeachments didn't have the desired results.

One might think they would have learned, but, sadly, they will not.

The time and energy spent on Trump is really telling.  I almost feel sorry for them that their life is so empty they feel the need to fill it with everything Donald.

As are those with "anything and everything" when it comes to the Clinton's or anyone else on the left. Welcome to partisan politics and the hypocrisy you choose to wallow in.
