The check the box debate
Link to quote: Editorial: Kamala Harris's plus-one for CNN interview a negative for image (bostonherald.com)
Tonight at 9:PM CNN will televise a taped interview with Kamala Harris and her VP Tim Walz. Normally it is not a big deal to do an interview, but the Harris campaign has made it that way by not allowing either Harris or Walz to answer questions. The reason is quite simple. Harris has been snake bitten by interviews. Most damning for her have been follow up questions that have become deadly for somebody so dull witted.
CNN is a very friendly venue and the fact that the interview the public sees was actually taped earlier means that it will be edited to help save Harris and Walz. The questions should be obvious, after flip flopping on major policies on the eve of an election need to be explained. The recent call for price controls needs to be explained. The recent idea of a huge tax increase requires details. Can she defend what she has done with all those tie breaking votes (more than 30 times) which helped to enact Biden's radical agenda. Why can't she do an interview by herself? Does she regret helping to raise money for violent protestors? The follow up questions would tell us if Kamala Harris knows what she is talking about. The fact that Tim Walz is with her means that the likelihood of follow up questions are almost nil.
So, what is the purpose of this farce?
It is to end the criticism of her not doing interviews. After this she can point to this one.

Two journalists in Hong Kong were convicted of sedition. Another blow to freedom of the press there.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are on a bus tour in Georgia. Harris and Walz will appear on CNN at 9 p.m. Eastern for the first major television interview of their presidential campaign.
The Trump campaign is making a push in the Midwest. JD Vance visited Pennsylvania and Wisconsin yesterday, and Donald Trump will be in La Crosse, Wis., tonight for a town hall event.
The Supreme Court maintained a pause on part of Biden's attempt to forgive student debt, which he introduced after the court had rejected his more sweeping plan last year.
A damning IG report has been released on Biden's Gaza pier. It seems that the Defense Department always knew it was an impossible task, yet Biden demanded that it be constructed. The pier was only operational for 20 days due to rough seas. It cost $230 million dollars.

Certain states are keeping RFK Jr on the ballot. Will they do the same with Joe Biden?
Jack Smith is trying to keep a Trump indictment in the news. So much for the DOJ policy of not indicting candidates in the midst of an election.
Good morning.
Has anyone noticed how many Trump positions Kamala Harris has tried to hijack?
She is now to the right of Trump!
damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. it's sad when losers finally resign themselves to the inevitable. not this time, maga...
She is very good at tossing salads.
How much of the original interview will we see tonight?
probably enough for trump to float another trial balloon excuse about dodging their debate, but not enough to send the maga lemmings stampeding towards the nearest cliff... /s
Oh, the debate!
It seems the Harris campaign wants the mic open.
Evidently, they want Kamala to parrot something to get Trump mad?
They are like children.
relax, trump and his campaign still have 11 days to get on the same page about the mic ...
These are the rules that Biden demanded. Trump agreed. Harris originally wanted everything Trump agreed to.
That also means no notes for Harris the dummy.
And why does she need to sit down?
They are the page about the mic. Muted when not speaking.
With all due respect, who gives a shit?
When Harris asks Trump what he was doing on the afternoon of Jan 6th he's going to pee his pants whether his mic is on or off.
Trump has demonstrated tremendous consciousness of guilt about this issue. It is childs play for a prosecutor to dig at it.
Maybe all the changes in her positions made her a bit dizzy.
Biden and Harris gave a shit. They wanted and got it all their way!
When Harris asks Trump what he was doing on the afternoon of Jan 6th he's going to pee his pants whether his mic is on or off.
Is that supposed to be the gotcha question?
If Donald is reading this, here is your answer; I TOLD THEM THEY NEEDED THE NATIONAL GUARD.
Is that all she has?
Maybe she'll tell Trump that she was wrong and he was right about the border wall.
She is 59 and Trump is 78 and She is the one who can't stand for 90 minutes.
Maybe she'll say he is better for the job of President.
I have been on forums like this since 2001.
That is one of the most pathetic replies I have ever seen.
Your advice for Trump is analogous to a fire chief saying "I told them they needed to update their electrical system" as an excuse for not sending his fire department to put out the fire at a burning building.
Such a fire chief would not have his job the next day.
Believe it or not, the Capitol Police did a very good job.
It's not hard to get under the 'man' child's skin. He's like a petulant toddler like the maga.
My favorite flip flop of all time is how she is now for a wall at the border.
How can so many otherwise thinking adults get so bamboozled by this sorry excuse for a candidate?
I love the way they jumped on the Trump bandwagon of no tax on tips, as soon as the Harris campaign hit Nevada.
It's depressing when you think about just how ignorant so many voters are.
Extremely.
[deleted]
Just listen to their reasons for voting for Harris and for far too many, the main one is "not Trump".
Sad they can't think of real reasons to vote for her.
Since she doesn't talk to the press we don't have to be inundated with word salads.
What is your reason for attacking Harris all the time and never attacking Trump, since you say you dislike them both? There isnt a single person here that is not on to your bs.
Why do you think its ok to vote for Trump? Is it patriotic to vote for someone who says our soldiers are losers and suckers ? Or does such talk DISQUALIFY him ?
This is very simple.
I dislike both Harris and Trump.
There are always, always, ALWAYS hit pieces on Trump published here every single day, so we have way enough people bitching about all things Trump 24/7.
I don't give a flying fuck what others 'think' they know, I know they are all wrong, and are making themselves look foolish.
It sure gets tiring reading what others 'think' they read. I won't waste time or energy debating or defending positions you invented for me. You don't need my participation for that kind of crap.
The one thing no one who uses such a lame-ass tactic can do is EVER quote me saying what they claim, and believe me when I tell you I have tried to get them to do so every time anyone tries this shit on me. Usually they just cut and run, what will you do?
Maybe they all just fell out of a coconut tree?
(cackle, cackle!)
Everyone here knows what you do. Everyone. Of course half of them agree with your tactic since it is one of attacking the Democrat.
Hey, if you don't like me calling out such lame tactics as claiming something I have never said, stop doing it.
If Kamala can't handle softball questions from a friendly questioner without a man running interference for her, how is she fit and prepared to lead the country?
That is a good question for feminists.
My conclusion is that she is weak & dull witted. She is unfit for the office.
Weak and dull witted. Yup. The PROJECTION. The former 'president' convicted felon and rapist is indeed weak and dull witted and unfit for office.
EXACTLY!
Do you think China fears Kamala?
Who do you think Iran wants to win?
Maga 'men' fear Kamala. Bunch of chickenshit bully cowards with the former 'president' convicted felon being the biggest of all!
sensible people would do well to worry about power being in Kamala's incapable hands.
Was that the mosque that was reported in which Hamas was operating an explosives factory? Oh, the UN won't have anything to say about that, will they. Just as the media really didn't want to reveal that the IDF killed 31 Hamas militants among the exaggerated numbers report of 100 dead at a UN school. Again, the UN won't admit anything about that cause according to the UN and the media and the protesters the Hamas terrorist militants are heroes and the IDF are cruel unfeeling bastards.
Only the most devout sickophants will swallow the lie that Harris has 'evolved' on so many issues, but it doesn't matter, folks will cast a vote against Trump and vainly think they are 'saving democracy' or some other silly bullshit.
We heard it right here. For some that is all the election is about.
Far too many are one issue voters, even those who can not defend such a vote logically.
Her only policy which hasn't changed is abortion.
How many women are wasting a vote on that single issue?
It is IDIOTIC to think that keeping the worst presidential candidate in US history out of office is not a good reason to vote for his opponent.
Idiotic and childlike actually.
Why are you quoting another poster and attempting to argue with me over what someone else said?
Pay attention!

Worst thing that happened to the Republican Party was overturning Roe vs Wade, It is a very important single issue to many and energized a lot of people.
That is absolutely true.
However, Roe was wrongly decided and to fulfill their duty to the Constitution they had to rule the way they did.
The problem was the timing.
I only wish it hadn't happened until this coming January.
“How many women are wasting a vote on that single issue?”
That ‘single issue’ is obviously pertinent to many people, and not just to women.
It goes to the personal freedom to have control over one’s own personal life decisions regardless of where they reside and in spite of legislators, religious zealots, and short sighted candidates attempting to deny one the freedom to make an entirely personal choice.
It also goes to show how utterly tone deaf some are. But they have the freedom (and temerity) to think they have the moral authority to push their desires thus effecting those who have to deal with the consequences.
Do continue with that line of reasoning as it is a losing battle, single issue or not.
That is what state elections are for.
You're certainly not outwitting anyone
There are almost no single issue voters, and it cuts both ways. People are much more loyal to their team and signaling that to peers than voting on a single issue. California passed all sorts of "conservative" citizen initiatives by ballot only to elect Democrats by landslides. Or Ohio, where the governor signed a 6 week abortion ban, won reelection by 15 points and had a constitutional amendment protecting abortion to birth pass. It's either not that high a priority and they split on the issue and remain with the party in general, or the much more common situation is that their priorities are already all lined up with one party or the other so one issue doesn't matter. One issue voters, really outside of, "Orange man bad" ultimately don't matter.
Trump himself, is by leaps and bounds, the single worst thing that happened to the national Republican party. One need only look where they were in 2014 (very pro-life) to where they are now (won't even ban nine month abortion on the federal level).
Which is why some advisors want her to stick to a character comparison with Trump.
Isn't that the same shit the Trump campaign is doing - painting Trump as the White Knight that only he can save the country from the multicultural godless communists?
Not being a Trump expert myself, nor giving a damn about him, I will take your word.
White Knight? Isn't that the same as Grand Dragon?
Why call him a racist?
Ask Robert Byrd.
He is just an equal opportunity asshole. If he hasn't thrown you or your group under the bus, wait, he will. Most everything he touches turns to shit: Just look at the Republican party.
I guess airing it on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend was a little too on the nose as a news dump, so the Thursday night heading into it is the next best thing.
It’s scary to realize the Democras who run the party trusted a senile, compulsive liar with a microphone more than they do Kamala Harris, who needs a literal chaperone.
Too bad Harris' handlers don't think she can handle a live interview.
They seem to have as much false, forced 'confidence' in her as they do with Biden.
But they told us he was the brightest man in the room in private.
Question of the day?
It wasn't that long ago when Carlson was the most watched political analyst on TV.
Is he now only a footnote?
WGAF ?
The people who liked to ask questions.
A Russian footnote at that.
He's scared...he should be..
All due to the Biden / Harris policies. Now with Harris running with zero policy, it indicates that she intends to keep the current policy in place causing even more problems for the country.
If she wins, we can expect a quick return to the radical Biden policies.
That's a given.
Ya! WHEN she wins
She really didn't get a bump off the convention.
Could this be as good as it gets for her?
Keep wishing and hoping and praying and see where that gets ya!
The sane world is sick of the former 'president' convicted felon and rapist.
The sane world being your little euphemism for the hard left?
The 70% of the world that is not in the cult of the convicted felon and rapist.
How did you come up with 70%?
Smith is trying the same indictment that Judge Cannon threw out. This time he filed with a judge that is a friend. The partisan political persecution continues.
100% correct.
Does anyone doubt this is simply a scheme to defeat Trump?
The New Trump indictments are in DC for Jan 6th. They just "Supercede" the former Jan 6th indictments in accordance with new laws...
How do you not know about this?
I pay attention.
A place where one can indict Trump for breathing.
Nobody is buying it anymore.
[✘]
I notice you haven't proven me wrong (again).
There are no new laws.
Isn't that awesome? They had a different grand jury for this one!
True - the sane world has had enough of the convicted felon.
Buh-bye!
A real humdinger!
It took them all of 5 minutes.
We'll have to all tune in on election night.
Do you think there will be another water main break at the Fulton County polling office?
they might try a power failure this time
I'll never forget that. Laura Ingraham said "for some reason the vote count has stopped in Fulton County Georgia."
Then Fulton County announced a water main burst, which turned into a backed-up toilet.
Poll watchers were forced to leave. The cameras caught them going through ballots.
Whether it was legit or not, it looked rotten.
Just enough time for somebody to tamper. Trust in elections was damaged again
Questions for Kamala via the editors of the National Review:
Questions for Kamala Harris in CNN Interview | National Review
She'll get "questions" like: Why is Trump so bad and weird? How do you manage to be so joyful when trump is so mean to you? How awesome will it be to be the first woman President?
And afterwards Dana Bash and Kamala will check into a motel.
Saw a question. It was as bad as expected. Basically: " why did you switch positions, is it because you are so much more experienced and knowledgeable now?" It's basically a question with a suggested answer. The type you can't ask in court because it leads the witness to the answer.
And no transcript of the interview will be provided, just 18 edited minutes...
Let's see if the follow up question is "What exactly did you learn that made you change positions?"
The correct answer is likely "I learned that my positions didn't poll well".
see if the follow up question is "What exactly did you learn that made you change positions?
I think the follow up will be "you are so brave. thank you for being so perfect"
Probably not going to he anything worth watching.
Softballs make poor questions.
Softballs make poor questions.
no doubt. The only question is can she hit a home run in the most favorable situation possible. Softball questions and the assurance that only the "best" answers will be released with no transcript of the entire interview.
As Maze on twitter said:
An official in the Denver suburb of Aurora is fed up with leaders in her state for allowing sanctuary policies that rolled out the proverbial welcome mat to Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua and the violent crime it has unleashed onto her community.
City Council member Danielle Jurinsky has served as a leading voice against providing incentives to migrants in Aurora — especially after the council passed a resolution in February saying it will refuse to offer aid for migrants from neighboring cities.
However, Aurora’s bigger neighbor next door — Denver — is a sanctuary city, which has continued to attract more migrants, many of them from Venezuela.
Tren de Aragua has come with them — and the gang is spilling into Aurora.
