Fox News and Tucker Carlson, the right-wing extremist who hosted the network's highly rated 8pm hour, have severed ties, the network said in a stunning announcement Monday.

The announcement came one week after Fox News settled a monster defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million over the network's dissemination of election lies.

Fox News said that Carlson's last show was Friday, April 21.

Carlson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on his departure.

This is a developing story…

Will be interesting to hear the details.

I think it is safe to say this is fallout from the Dominion lawsuit and the upcoming Smartmatic lawsuit and trial.

I'd like to see Dana or Bret fill this now open time slot. Or promote Jesse to it.

Ronald McDonald is out of work. He would be a great choice. Think about the attraction of younger minds to Fox, wouldn't that be great to get them acclimated at a young age so that when they grow up, they might become "political clowns with Orange hair", as a tribute to Dirty Diaper Donnie's contribution to CHAOS!

Fox Replaces Tucker Carlson with Lying Chatbot

Andy Borowitz 1-1 minutes   4/24/2023

NEW YORK ( The Borowitz Report )—Fox News has announced that it has replaced Tucker Carlson with a state-of-the-art lying Chatbot.

In a brief statement, Fox chairman Rupert Murdoch thanked Carlson for his service but said that he had been “rendered obsolete by swift advances in lying technology.”

A dry run of the Chatbot showed it emitting nine lies per minute, besting Carlson’s average of eight.

News of the Chatbot’s arrival sent shock waves down the corridors of Fox’s midtown Manhattan headquarters. “I’ll be next,” a reportedly shaken Sean Hannity said.

Cable news is about to be taught a powerful lesson after Fox News caved to the woke mob and fired Tucker Carlson.

Americans no longer blindly watch the news like they did decades ago, they only watch the ones who have courage to tell the truth.

Americans are about to quit watching.

One of the things I have seen on twitter today is all the MAGA who swear that Carlson was a truth teller. It is a very common response from that group. This is all after Fox News publicly admitted that they , including Carlson, did not tell the truth about the 2020 election.

It could be that Dominion (off-camera/off-record) settled with Fox News in part for the removal of a few/several purveyors of 'noise.' Or it could be that Fox Corp 'knows' that Carlson's credibility is/will be trending down. Plus, the 'pile-on' was coming from other cases some having nothing to do with votes/Jan 6/Dominion. (There are 'powers that be' existing in corporations (boards and such) that have authorization to change the landscape as they see fit.) I am pretty that is in those 'custom' contracts somewhere.

I think this may be the hidden factor in dumping him.

Soros , like Murdoch, is an immigrant who achieved American citizenship, becoming naturalized in 1961.

While there may have been valid business reasons for Soros to obtain American citizenship, Murdoch was forced to renounce his Australian citizenship and become an American as part of the conditions of obtaining an American TV network in 1985.

Soros invented the hedge fund and while he is still worth over $8Billion, he has donated $32Billion to charities during his already long life.

Murdoch has accumulated about $9Billion and while he contributes heavily to politicians (20 million to Biden in 2020, 100 million to his own Quadivron Foundation, it pales in comparison to Soros generosity.

Soros survived the Holocaust and is a self made multibillionaire.

Murdoch came from money and inherited his first media companies.

Comparing the two is sort of like comparing the Grinch with Santa Claus.

As far as philanthropy goes,

Forbes has Warren Buffet rated the highest followed by Soros who has given away 64% of his original fortune, while Murdoch is rated in the lowest group which has donated less than 1% of their net worth.

The blame game as to which has caused the most damage is just BS talking points, although Murdoch admitted in depositions to persistent lying to make money, the consequences to our country be damned, he can always sell out and move back to Australia.

A thoughtful, more contemplating man would have, "Set his ARSE on Fire on LIVE TV"!

Think of the ratings, the viewership, and the joy that so many viewers worldwide would have loved. Fox would have gained back all the "dough" it lost to Dominion in one viewing.

That is proof positive that Rupert Murdoch is losing it.

Tucker Carlson and Fox News part ways

Dominick Mastrangelo 3-4 minutes   4/24/2023

Tucker Carlson  has parted ways with Fox News, the network said on Monday.

“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the network said in a statement.

Carlson’s last show was Friday, the network said.

Fox said it would air a new program called “Fox News Tonight” at 8 p.m. starting Monday evening as an interim show helmed by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.

Carlson was Fox’s top-rated prime time host, netting an average of more than 3 million viewers per night, the most of any pundit on cable television.

Carlson’s departure from the network came less than a week after it agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems over coverage of former   President Trump’s  false claims of voter fraud and the company’s software.

Depositions taken by Dominion’s lawyers exposed a number of private communications from top hosts at the network, including Carlson.

In one widely publicized text exchange with fellow prime-time hosts Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, Carlson said he hated Trump “passionately” and called the former president’s claims of voter fraud “insane.”

Carlson’s show launched in 2016 and regularly featured controversial guests and segments on matters of race, immigration and other hot political topics of the day.

His hourlong opinion program, which featured an opening monologue and guest interviews, often acted as a proving ground for Republican office-seekers and conservative activists looking to broaden their reach with voters and donors.

Earlier this month, Trump sat for an extensive interview with Carlson, which the former president used to bash Democrats and the media.

News of Carlson’s departure broke during the network’s afternoon “Outnumbered” program, with host Harris Faulkner echoing the outlet’s public statement saying it had been a mutual agreement and thanking Carlson for his work at Fox.

During his most recent appearance on the network on Friday, Carlson indicated he expected to be back on its airwaves on Monday.

“That’s it for us for the week,” Carlson said as he signed off. “We’ll be back on Monday.”

Weren't you literally just pushing some crazy Trump/Kennedy conspiracy to take over the supreme Court?

Do you think Friday night news dumps are conspiracies too? Guess what,  companies, politicians etc pick the times they release bad news to minimize coverage. If you think CNN isn't paying to attention to things like that, their entire management team should be fired for incompetence.

So either CNN took advantage of an oppurtunity to minimize bad attention, or two of the biggest media companies in the world coincidentally decided to fire leading anchors within hours of each other on a random Monday morning

This is interesting:

Carlson featured in Dominion Voting System's lawsuit. Yet he is also the focus of a lawsuit from his former senior booking producer, Abby Grossberg, who filed two separate suits. In one of the suits, Grossberg accused Carlson and Fox of sexism and harassment, alleging his show's workplace was replete with examples of misogyny. Her lawsuit claims, among other things, that mocked-up photographic images depicted then-U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "in a bathing suit revealing her cleavage" and that staffers were polled — on two separate occasions — on which of two female candidates for Michigan governor they would rather have sex with.

Carlson's early evening show   Tucker   (originally titled   The Situation With Tucker Carlson ) premiered on June 13, 2005, on   MSNBC . [101]   Rachel Maddow   and   Jay Severin   featured as guests on a rotating panel. [101]   He also hosted a late-afternoon weekday wrap-up for the network during the   2006 Winter Olympics . [102] [103]   He appeared live from Israel during the   2006 Lebanon War   between Israel and   Hezbollah   in southern Lebanon [104] [105]   and reported the aftermath of the   Virginia Tech shooting   and   Johnson Space Center shooting   in 2007. [106] [107] [108]

Tucker   was canceled by the network on March 10, 2008, owing to low ratings; [109]   the final episode aired on March 14, 2008. He remained with the network as a senior campaign correspondent for the   2008 election . [110]   Brian Stelter , writing for   The New York Times , wrote that "during Mr. Carlson's tenure, MSNBC's evening programming moved gradually to the left. His former time slots, 6:00   p.m. and 9:00   p.m., were subsequently occupied by two liberals,   Ed Schultz   and Rachel Maddow." Carlson said the network had changed a lot and "they didn't have a role for me". [111]

As far as Don Lemon of CNN departing. . . it could be a number of occurrences:

1. Lemon had/has a 'case' against him that I have not heard the conclusion of over a sexual harassment at a bar.

2. CNN is reformatting to teams reporting (CNN CENTRAL) and panel discussions. Less of the "all-important" individual anchors.

3. When CNN removed Don Lemon from his primetime evening show; the 'handwriting' was on the wall. (He was hidden behind a 'fold).

4. Other cable networks are similarly moving people around for their own internal purposes.

5. Don Lemon, it is rumored or fact, could not gel with the two females on his morning team.

6. Now that Covid 19 'protocols' are on the way fully and explicitly out: A 'shakeup' time to get new blood is well underway.

7. Lemon in his prime-time slot at least appeared to be operating without a filter and that could not be abided as his professionalism 'suffered'  waxed/waned from too much liberality during the two hours nightly presentations.

That is as much as I can think on his departure.

I think Don Lemon just wore out his welcome. 17 years is a good run. I dont think any of the major networks will hire him though. I see him going back to local news, probably in one of the bigger blue cities.

No evolution, we're only 6,000 years old.

No anthropogenic global warming. It's all natural.

Trump never broke the law. He's an honest  man.

So glad I'm not a far right winger.

I thought we were more like 300,000 years old.

It seems that Tucker was the big draw in the coveted 25 to 54-year-old demographic.

Carlson, whose last show was on Friday, April 21, is leaving Fox News even as he remains a top-rated host for the network, drawing 334,000 viewers in the coveted 25- to 54-year-old demographic in the 8 p.m. slot for the week ended April 20, according to AdWeek. That was more than twice the audience of his competitors at CNN and MSNBC in the same hour, and also represented a bigger audience than other Fox News hosts such as Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham.

Damn shame that there are so many low IQ ignorant fascists in America.

Interesting how most are from the Southern gulf states.

They are still trying to fight the civil war all over again.

Isn't shame an outdated, regressive concept?

"Shame" is what many fascists should feel, but don't.

Once again, HANNITY has survived and takes his place back among the longest living noise producers on Fox airways!  (Chuckles.) Tucker has been put to 'bed.'

It's been reported that Tucker did not get any severance pay. Next up a lawsuit by Tucker and Fox/Murdoch digging in and ''terminated for cause'' will be their defense and probably will win the day.

Tucker will get severance, bet! He will have to apply the 'squeaky wheel' seeking Fox 'oil' to quiet him screeching about internal files he holds in abeyance!
