A meandering interview between Donald Trump and Fox host Bret Baier ended with even other Fox hosts struck by the "incoherent" moments.

"How much did Joe Rogan pay Bret Baier to debate Donald Trump," asked former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. It's a reference to Joe Rogan's demand that Joe Biden debate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Jon Favreau made the obvious point that Trump's lawyers were likely unhappy that Trump was saying such things on television because it would make their defense even harder.

"This is next level of 'I would like to report a murder.' Bret Baier did a great job firing back," said Jonathan Ford.

"If mookish insecurity could generate a heat field, Bret Baier would have already been immolated sitting this close to Trump," quipped "The Atlantic's" Tom Nichols.

Activist and writer Goldie Taylor pointed to the video of Trump saying he had the right to have the boxes and said flatly: "Homie going to prison."

Her other observation was about the recording in which Trump admits he could have declassified a document but couldn't now that he wasn't. Trump went on to tell Baier that he never even saw the document he is on tape showing to people.

"Something is truly wrong with this man," Taylor said.

RepubNowDem on Twitter, commenting on Tomi Lahren's posting of a Biden video, argued, "this is all just to deflect from Trump's disastrous interview on Fox."

George Conway joked: "It seems like deputy special counsel Bret Baier filleted the defendant today."

Devin Duke wondered, "Are they going to send their minions to go harass Bret Baier at his home now too?" It refers to a number of pro-Trump people threatening or swatting those who disagree with them in person.

Rep. Eric Swallwell (D-CA) posted the clip of Trump confessing to taking classified documents.

"Well that's that. Trump just confessed to Fox News that he stole and shared classified materials," he tweeted.

Trump has lost it.  NO ONE with a modicum of intelligence who loves America could possibly consider voting for Trump after this interview. Give credit to Bret Baier, he conducted the interview that should have occurred at the CNN town hall. It was utterly devastating to Donald Trump.

Speaking to Fox host Bret Baier on Monday, former President Donald   Trump   maintained that he was not only winning in 2024, but that he won "big" in 2020.

Baier forced Trump to look at the poll numbers of women that are fleeing the Republican Party, particularly after the overturning of Roe v. Wade. While there was always support for upholding abortion rights, it was never as high as it is now. NPR cited a poll showing 4 in 5 voters now support the right to an abortion.

Baier asked Trump how he can win back such voters with that strategy.

"You're not looking at the right polls," Trump told Baier.

"What do you tell that female, independent voter that voted against you in 2020," Baier asked.

"First of all, I won in 2020 by a lot, okay?" Trump said with a twinge of anger. "Let's get that straight. I won in 2020."

"You know, that's not what — that's not," Baier tried to correct him.

"And if you look at all of the tapes, if you look at everything that you want to look at — you take a look at 'Truth to Vote' where they have people stuffing the ballot boxes on tapes, or."

"Mr. President, those were all looked into," Baier corrected.

Trump immediately pivoted to attack Hunter Biden, rambled about the FBI and Twitter and then claimed everything was corrupt.

"But you lost the 2020 election," said Baier.

Appearing to call him "Brad," Trump said that the "stuffed ballots" and "all of the things, including the 51 intelligence agents."

Baier said that there were recounts in all 50 states.

"We're trying to get recounts, real recounts," Trump claimed.

Baier said that there was no evidence of widespread corruption and not a single instance of it. "There were lawsuits more than 50 of them by your lawyers, some in front of judges you appointed."

"Look at Wisconsin," Trump said with no context.

"With no evidence," Baier cut in.

Trump claimed Wisconsin "practically admitted it was all rigged. Other states are doing the same and it continues to be rigged..."

Baier quoted the instances of voter fraud that were investigated.

"You know why Bret because they weren't looking at the right things, Bret," Trump said.

The interview continued in that fashion for several minutes.

Trump never answered how he would address concerns of suburban, independent women.

Former President Donald Trump addressed some of the   federal criminal charges   against him in an interview Monday with Fox News anchor Bret Baier. Trump also   clashed with Baier   over his   false 2020 election claims  and insisted that for all the former top officials in his administration who oppose his reelection, there are more who "love" him.

Baier   pointed out   that Trump claimed in 2016 he would surround himself with "only the best and most serious people," then noted that many of those people don't support his bid for a second term or actively warn against it. Trump's   own vice president   and   United Nations ambassador  are running against him, Baier noted. Neither of his defense secretaries or secretaries of state support him, and former Attorney General Bill Barr, former National Security Adviser John Bolton, and former Defense Secretary Mark Esper have suggested Trump is a danger to national security.

Baier also read some insults Trump has   fired off at Barr , former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, and other top officials in his administration. "So why did you hire all of them in the first place?" he asked. "For every one you say, I had 10 that love us," Trump responded, without offering names.

Baier asked Trump about the   37-count indictment   accusing him of willfully hoarding national security secrets and obstructing the government's demands to get them back. "Criminal defendants usually avoid speaking publicly about details of any charges in their case, for fear of their remarks being used against them,"   The New York Times   noted.

But Trump   acknowledged   keeping classified documents after the National Archives asked for them back and after the government subpoenaed them, and he did not deny asking employees to falsely claim he had returned all the records. "Before I send boxes over, I have to take all of my things out,"   Trump told Baier . "These boxes were interspersed with all sorts of things," like "golf shirts, clothing, pants, shoes," and "I was very busy, as you've sort of seen."

Trump also   claimed   that despite prosecutors   having audio   of and perhaps witnesses to him showing off "secret," evidently classified Iran battle plans at his Bedminster club, he was just talking about a stack of "newspaper stories, magazine stories and articles."

Trump's "answers on the matters of the law seem to me to verge on incoherent," Fox News chief political analyst   Brit Hume said   after the interview. "He seemed to be saying that the documents were really his and that he didn't give them back when he was requested to do when they were subpoenaed because, you know, he wasn't ready. ... It was not altogether clear what he was saying" about his right to classified documents, he added, but "I don't think it's going to hold up in court."

Do you honestly demand a citation "proving" the factual basis of a sarcastic remark?

Why dont you "prove" that Biden was shaking hands with an invisible person when he extended his hand towards the audience after a speech last year?

First of all, the idea that Biden was shaking hands with no one has been completely debunked. There were people sitting in the direction he hand gestured to, about 10 feet from where Biden was at. We can know he was gesturing to the audience because in the extended video of the event he can be seen walking to the other side of the stage and making the same gesture to the people who were sitting on that side.

So, PROVE that Biden was shaking hands with no one. There is no EVIDENCE of that, just right wing fantasies.

As far as what JBB said, it appears, clearly, to have been a sarcastic remark for which no "proof" exists or is necessary.

It's common knowledge that Hillary and Putin have hated each other for many years. Long before she was First Lady and Sec. State.

It's also common knowledge that Putin has an extensive Propaganda machine that he uses against his own people as well as foreign nationals. A man named Vladimir Solovyov is Putin's chief on-air propagandist. The Internet Research Agency (IRA), also known as Glavset and the Trolls from Olgino is Putin's online propaganda machine.

I must suspect anybody who denies these facts as being a Russian bot or at the very least being susceptible to Putin's propaganda machine.

Even impeccably left wing sites like the nation recognize how shoddy and amateurish the Russian  interference was in 2016

Based on all of this data, we can draw this picture of Russian social-media activity: It was mostly unrelated to the 2016 election; microscopic in reach, engagement, and spending; and juvenile or absurd in its content. This leads to the inescapable conclusion, as the New Knowledge study acknowledges, that “the operation’s focus on elections was merely a small subset” of its activity.

the IRA’s biggest success in 2016 was organizing an anti trump March after he won.

Thousands of Americans attended a march last November organized by a Russian group that used social media to interfere in the 2016 election.

The demonstration in New York City, which took place a few days after the election, appears to be the largest and most successful known effort to date pulled off by Russian-linked groups intent on using social media platforms to influence American politics.

Sixteen thousand Facebook users said that they planned to attend a Trump protest on Nov. 12, 2016, organized by the Facebook page for BlackMattersUS, a Russian-linked group that sought to capitalize on racial tensions between black and white Americans. The event was shared with 61,000 users.

{mosads}As many as 5,000 to 10,000 protesters actually convened at Manhattan’s Union Square. They then marched to Trump Tower, according to media reports at the time.

The BlackMattersUS-organized rally took advantage of outrage among groups on the left following President Trump’s victory on Nov. 8 to galvanize support for its event. The group’s protest was the fourth consecutive anti-Trump rally in New York following election night, and one of many across the country.

I've been pointing out your lies and I suggested something to help you.  You should take the advice instead of constantly making personal attacks.  It's a bad look.

You're wasting your time. You're up against a MAGA standard operating procedure, mirroring. A MAGA simply reflects back whatever they're accused of. Imperturbably. Indefinitely. This behavior jas nothing to do with debate. It is pure trolling. You can do nothing about it.

It's like the unfunny memes all over the Internet: they're happy to waste their time (and everyone else's) on the off chance they'll trigger a lib.

That's what they live for: triggering libs.

Never voted for trump, so MAGA is a lie, and another classic maneuver, calling for help from an associate when trying to shout down a message you don’t like. And you feel MAGA is an insult so the scripted pattern of insults when you have nothing else continues. Predictable.

I can't imagine he would be required to spend even a day in a jail or prison.  Either he will be under Mar a Lago house arrest with a GPS anklet or in a padded cell in a mental institution.

Is the Jon Favreau mentioned in the article the one who acted in "Chef"?  Loved that movie.

Different guy. This Jon Favreau is a political pundit and podcaster who once worked as Obama's chief speechwriter.

In spite of all the evidence to the contrary, some Dem dummies think that Trump will end up being the nominee.

That's not going to happen since sufficient numbers of Republican voters will wake up by primary time to reject him.

Then the lefties will be stuck with Biden facing, most likely, DeSantis. They will be totally fucked if the Repubs gain a couple Senate seats and keep the House.

That’s why joe Biden won’t let Brett Baier, or any credible journalist, interview him.  Can get rough when there’s no scripted  questions and the “journalist” isn’t  actively working to protect the interviewee.

Joe's handlers would most likely only agree to an interview if they have control of the questions and would only take the interview with certain journalists.

Joe is a walking disaster almost every time he speaks extemporaneously vs. sticking to the script.

Lol.  That's some A+ partisan hackery right there. You know you can't defend Biden's documented record of avoiding interviews with Baier (who requests one every week) so you deflect to some ridiculous  demand  instead.  Boy, you sure showed everyone... well nothing.  But when you are a partisan hack with nothing to do but shill for Biden, what else can you do?
