With Trump Interview, Meet The Press Is Swirling Down The Drain
She says to him "do you think you showed leadership on Jan 6th?"  Trump says "yes I do", and Welker says "ok".  This was after she spent a minute or two asking him why he didnt try to stop the riot. Trump tells her "I'm not going to tell you that". And she just goes on to the next question.

I am watching the Donald Trump interview on Meet The Press , on new host Kristen Welker's first show.

It is no better than the disastrous and widely lambasted "townhall" on CNN a few months ago.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Welker is giving Trump softball questions and whats worse, letting him trample all over her. There are a hundred interviewers that would have done a better job.

NBC and Welker are being blasted on twitter over this interview. The mainstream media has no intention of really holding Trump's feet to the fire, their intention is to make sure there is a good "horserace" in this presidential campaign. Therefore the traitor Trump is paid deference by the interviewers.

No one should conduct an interview with Trump where they allow him to simply trample over the interviewer.

Nobody should conduct an interview with Trump period.

If everybody ignores him maybe he'll just go away.

How could Meet the Press even air this garbage of an 'interview'?

I bet Megan Kelly did a better job.

Bad start for Kristen Welker. She made the milk toast Chuck Todd look like a bad ass.

What this article shows is how easy it is to trigger a leftists...all over an interview from one man that they hate so much that they have dismissed family from their lives completely.

Are you leftists afraid that fellow leftists might hear something they agree with (gasp) and maybe start thinking outside of the loon left box?

I haven’t seen the interview but the complaint seems to be trump was treated like a democrat. Softball questions, avoiding obvious follow ups, asking him to explain how evil his opponents are with no push back etc… Anyone who’s watched MTP the last 20 years knows the drill.

Its hard to compare Trump with anyone else, since he is the only one who tried to overthrow the US government.  You are creating the same type of false equivalency the network interviewers are being criticized for.

You would have been better posting a picture of Brandon the Human Fuck Up Machine.

But I guess the man pulling Brandon's strings is the next best thing to a leftist.

Rightists were triggered beyond the pale because Obama wore a tan suit. Rightists trigger easier than any group of people I have ever seen.

I dont think he should be given a platform unless the interviewer is going to strongly push back.  Welker did not do that.

Translation: I don't think Trump should be given a platform unless the interviewer shouts Liar...Liar...Liar and throws boiling water in his face. Walker did not to that.

NBC and Welker are being blasted on twitter over this interview.

Ya, that is to be expected. Twitter was formerly the pet site of outraged leftists.  I watch other news shows when "Meet the Press" is on. I can see that this morning's episode is available, so I'll take a look at it. I did happen to tune in for the last 5 minutes and caught the part where Welker pays homage to the long running news show's legendary creator: Martha Rountree. In those days "Meet the Press" was a fair and honest news show. In the past decade or two, the show has devolved into another left-wing activist spin show.

Where have you been? The left has disparaged Chuck Todd in every year he ran the show.

That's because you don't get out much and mingle with people who might have different views than you. I doubt that you've even watched MTP over the years.

Tim Russert was the last decent moderator of that show. He came prepared and didn't play favorites with fools from either party.

If you watched mtp with chuck Todd more than a couple of times, and don’t understand  he’s a liberal, you have  no idea what bias is.

he’s so enmeshed in it, he doesn’t even recognize that the media has a left wing bias.  Blinders doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Chuck Todd was a Democratic Party activist before becoming a “journalist”.  These are the same people who think George stepanoplous or Jen Psaki  play it down the middle too.

JR probably meant that Chuck isn’t an extreme liberal, he’s not part of Daily KOS or Occupy Democrats.

Utterly ridiculous.

Chuck Todd is one of the ultimate "both sidesers" in the media.

The idea that Todd is "left" is absurd.

Keith Olbermann is "left".  The Young Turks are "left".  Lawrence O' Donnell is "left". Chuck Todd bent over backwards to pretend that "both sides" are equally at fault for whats happened to this country.

She's afraid of him. Her first interview and she couldn't cut it because she was afraid that if she did hammer him he would go on twitter and call her all kinds of nasty names. She'd better grow a backbone and a vagina if she wants to run with the big dogs

It’s all true, and unfortunately it’s all beyond anyone’s ability to control at this point.  Once the populace is dumbed down to the point that a constituency accepts the most absurd of justifications within their tribe, then the risks of electing wolves in sheep’s clothing just melts away.  The American experiment is possibly about to fail.  In many respects we have done it to ourselves.
