The percentage of American women who never have grandchildren is closely related to the percentage of women who remain childless. According to recent data, about 16.5% of women aged 40-44 in the United States are childless1. This percentage tends to decrease with age, as some women may have children later in life2.
Given that having grandchildren typically depends on having children, a significant portion of these childless women will likely never have grandchildren. However, exact statistics on the percentage of women who never have grandchildren specifically are less commonly reported.
Common sense tells us that more than 16% of post menopausal women dont have grandchildren , since the 16% refers to women who never have children. Some of those that do have children have children who never have children.
Vance wants to make any people without kids or grandkids feel worthless.
I never chose to get married and have kids and am very happy about that. I'm also very happy to be an aunt and great aunt to 9 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces and nephews
I am "Uncle Tommy!"
They need an Aunt's Day and an Uncle's Day.
I have 7 niece and nephews ranging from 26- 40 I spoiled Christmas and BDs. Not even a card for years so I quit it...
Once they reach a certain age, delight at seeing you turns to "I'm embarrassed"
When they were young, very young, it was fun spoiling them. It's different when they grow up. They all have their own thing.
If they're on Facebook I'll send them a birthday greeting, things change, I haven't given them a gift in years. Can't afford it and they understand that.
I have actually heard some say something along the lines of women having "value" if they have kids and those who do not are selfish. It's a misogynistic attitude to say the least.
I have a 67 year old sister who has two grown daughters , 31 and 28 years old, neither of which have any children yet (neither of them are married). I think she would slap the shit out of JD Vance for saying that she has no purpose.
It is very common in China for the grandparents to look after their young grandchildren when both parents have jobs. In fact, they also often live in the same home, making it much more multi-generational than you might see in western countries.
They do that in America too Buzz.
A lot of grandparents become the parents a lot of times, unfortunately, in lower income families it seems.
some of my neighbors are raising their grandchildren, one because both parents are in jail
Politicians should stick with the issues and not make up biological / psychological / evolutionary hypotheses.
I keep saying overpopulation is a problem.
Not having children will reduce climate change.
My son spent a lot of time with my parents, and we're grateful for that, but I would never expect my mother to give up her time in retirement to raise him. That is NOT her sole purpose. She decides that, not some politician.

Ground to CoPilot-- Over, over!
Can you hear me now?
trump & Vance is not the ideal ticket.
Image if they could have JDVance for President, and RFK Jr for VP?
"A match made in heaven" (to coin a phrase!!!)
More fun than a barrel of monkeys!
(To coin yet another phrase...)
Maybe we need a big grinder to push childless people into to create a meaty food product to feed to child bearing people. Solving worthlessness and hunger together.
Vance doesn't sound like a good father to me. The dick told someone on a podcast that when the former 'president' convicted felon and rapist called him to ask him to be his VP since he is such a loyal mushroom sucker, his 7-year-old boy was playing Pokemon and asked his dad a question and the dick said to him 'could you shut the hell up about Pikachu for 30 seconds? The former 'president' convicted felon and rapist is on the phone now.'
