In the next few days we will know if America has any national honor left or not.

In the face of the prospect of the worst human being in presidential history sitting in the Oval Office for 1500 more days many Americans are distracted by shrinking inflation, a border crisis that has existed for 40 years, and whether a handful of transgenders are running in girl's high school track meets.

Priorities anyone ?

465245488_886362013629496_4399609325270193195_n.jpg

The United States of America could elect someone to its highest office who tried to overthrow the United States government.

This is Hollywood darkest political satire on steroids.

The blame for all this falls squarely on the cowards in the Republican Party, Graham, McConnell, Mccarthy, Rubio, Collins, etc, the so called establishment leaders who should have put an end to it in January or February of 2021 while the memory of Trumps traitorous actions were fresh.  Instead they allowed him to keep his head above water long enough for the MAGA horde to rejuice his energy and set the country on the path to todays crisis.

As a pundit said the other day, Trump Derangement Syndrome does exist, but it exists in his supporters not his opposition.

And now shit is getting real.

If Trump wins and the Democrats retake the House as predicted I expect Trump to be impeached within weeks.

The country will go through four more years of clownish insanity, the evil clown kind, and we will prolong the devastating truth that an entire generation of kids will have grown up thinking that this is politics as normal and that Trump is a great American.

May God forgive us if that happens.

That alone should be embarrassing enough to not vote for trump but the right wing seems totally fine with it. That's just sad. On the global stage, we look like fools thanks to trump and his supporters.

Trump's enduring popularity tells us more about our country than we want to know. His dedicated followers are the biggest threat to the America we have known in our lives.  Decency, honor, common sense, believing your own eyes, are all being washed away.

Agree. And this includes dear friends and family…

Less worried about trump, as he only awakened the beast. The next man up, without the bluster, without the idiocy, but with more eloquence and more clarity may give them life. Can only hope as trump inevitably fades away, his followers in their sycophancy crawl back into the shadows.

It is clear there is more WORK to be done. They won't leave others alone. It is sad that these people delude themselves to think that God's green earth can be owned by a select few people. And please do not miss it. . . they really TELL THEMSELVES that they are the inheritors of this country. . . and there is no other BESIDE them.

Imagine believing women in America live as handmaidens. Such a silly fantasy life some progressives have.

A much more dystopian and realistic fantasy is a government forcing women to have abortions to limit family size. Imagine supporting a government that did that.

Nobody is saying women in America are living as handmaidens today

I doubt you read the book and I doubt you watched the TV show so I don't think you're coming from a point of knowledge of The Handmaid's Tale.

Throwing up history again.  I can do that too.  Imagine a nation where the colonists and their descendants enslaved those of a different colour, slaughtered the indigenous population, put into concentration camps those they feared and about half of the population of that nation want a convicted criminal to be their leader.  As well, I personally prefer a nation where ALL women make the decisions about their bodies and are guaranteed equal rights and benefits that men possess, and abortion is permitted because if it isn't deaths and horrors that could have been prevented are experienced.  History is a bitch, isn't it.

an America that becomes Gilead and no woman has any rights.

The point is that the fantasy is idiotic. Women have never been freer and never exercised more power than they do today and that power will keep increasing every day, no matter who is elected.  It's truly mind boggling that any adult with a memory can think Gilead becomes more likely as America becomes less religious and women exercise more power  by the day.  More women graduate from college now more than men.  The world has changed.

There are actually millions of women in the world who do live those sort of lives, and pretty much the only ones in America who do are Muslim.  If bored white women want to help actually oppressed women, why don't they wear the hijab in protest?

I don't even need to talk about history. Everything I mentioned is all happening right now in the concentration camps, except the forced abortions aren't to limit family size, they are to wipe a religious minority from the face of the earth.  They are modern day Nazis.

But anytime you want to talk history, I'm here for it. Just in living memory, we have man created famine, the cultural revolution, forced abortions to keep family size  down, massacring thousands of peaceful protesters at Tiananmen Square, slave labor, child labor, nets to keep exploited workers from killing themselves etc.etc..

China has murdered tens of millions of its own citizens during your lifetime. Consider that history.

For fucks sake, in 2008 OBAMA defined marriage as between a man and a woman with God somewhere in the middle. Obama ran a more socially conservative campaign than the current Republican nominee, who  is probably the least socially conservative nominee in the party's history.  The idea that there's some looming threat of America becoming a Christian theocracy is just too stupid to take seriously.

.The reality is  American women are not oppressed. They aren't about to be oppressed. Look at what's going on in Afghanistan or Iran if you want to see what actual oppression is. Dressing up in costumes and playacting as  victims  is not actual  oppression. The very fact that women can, in fact, engage in such protests with no other repercussion other than being laughed at proves  how silly the whole concept is.

Only a person who has never stepped a foot in China would say something ignorant like this:

"....they are to wipe a religious minority from the face of the earth."

REALLY?  The Uyghurs are Muslims.  How come ALL the Uyghurs aren't in what are better described as re-education camps?  Oh, wait, of course a person who has never been to China wouldn't know that because they've never been to Xinjiang Province where they live.  And never being in China they wouldn't know that there are 11 million Muslims in ALL of China, including the Uyghurs, and that most of the 11  million are not terrorists and separatists disturbing the peace of the nation and are ALL living in peace in China, worshipping in their mosques (the biggest mosque I ever saw in my life is in Chongqing and I've been to Israel), carrying on successful businesses, and being taught in China's schools and universities, and even I taught Muslims in a Chinese school and privately, and I have eaten in their busy and popular restaurants because I prefer lamb to pork, and I KNOW they enjoy their lives here and I know that FOR A FACT THAT A PERSON WHO HAS NEVER BEEN TO CHINA WOULD LIE ABOUT ALL OF THAT.

I have not been to the Uyghur camps, but then neither have you.  I did not deny that there WERE or ARE such camps, but you tell horror stories about them that you cannot prove.

So ask yourself, has the United States become more or less secular in your life time?

Totally avoiding the context of the question?

For fucks sake, in 2008 OBAMA defined marriage as between a man and a woman with God somewhere in the middle....The idea that there's some looming threat of America becoming a Christian theocracy is just too stupid to take seriously.

Many republican politicians are opposed to allowing same sex marriages and even Justice Thomas has floated the idea of SCOTUS over turning it.  Many republicans will also state for the record that the bible is more important than the Constitution.

The reality is  American women are not oppressed.

So ignore everything you see, read, and hear, and just believe you?

They aren't about to be oppressed.

Many republican states are trying to force a women to go through the entire pregnancy with their rapist's offspring.  How is that not being oppressed?

Look at what's going on in Afghanistan or Iran if you want to see what actual oppression is.

Do you really want to go there?  Afghanistan and Iran are prime examples of oppressing women because those country's governments are run by religious figures.  It would be just as oppressive if the US allowed the bible to run the government.

Again, how are women reflected in the bible as far as rights are concerned?

Trump, even if he loses, will have proved once again that he holds an entire political party in his thrall. He will have proved that tens of millions of Americans will follow him even past the point of  inciting an insurrection  against the U.S. Capitol. He will have proved that the most vicious campaign of lies, misogyny, racism, and xenophobia ever waged—and yes, I am including his previous two campaigns—was not enough to stop nearly half the country from supporting him.

Even in a best-case scenario of Trump accepting defeat—I will not fantasize about him gracefully conceding, which seems to be a fantastical outcome from a man who still believes he was robbed of proper accolades for his cameo in “Home Alone 2”—there remains the matter of his various pending criminal cases; what more evidence could we need to believe that Trump is prepared to do anything, up to and including torching the American political system, to avoid incarceration?

Thought for the Day: When Crooked Donald stated, "When Mexico is sending its people, they are not sending their best. . . . "

Full Stop: Why would Mexico (or any country in the Southern Triangle for that matter) send its best?

To Crooked Donald's mind. . . these countries should send their business elite: millionaires, billionaires. . . .

But the problem is, Mexico and the Triangle countries are not actually sending their rank and file population either; the ordinary workers are simply leaving their homes because of crime, unseemliness, and inoperability in their respective homelands!

The business elite of those southern countries would be STUPID in the EXTREME to deplete their 'workers' pool' of artisans, mechanics, journeyman and journey women, plus. That includes even future entrepreneurs that migrate away whom could serve the business elite in those nations while they enjoy their prosperity and its indulgences.

Instead those workers and such MIGRATE away to other places. . . taking their talents and visions with them. Now we have Crooked Donald expressing rather ignorantly that he wants to send them back. Send back talent, vision, and entrepreneurs to disperse themselves in other and remote lands (not our own).

The quote above was a specious statement made by Crooked Donald in 2016 which had 'legs' that it never should have 'walked' on for all these many years.

She's already the best-looking VP.

I have to admit that I thought she was cute when she came on the scene in the Senate, but this picture is highly photoshopped or 20 years old. She looks nothing like this today.

Maybe so, but still prettier than any PotUS or VP yet.

Dealing with politics at the presidential level will do that to men (Donald) too. It ages a person. All that traveling. All that talking. All that 'stretching and pulling.' All that talking. All that thinking.

AND, all that historically proven possibility of being assassinated.  I hope that she will be well protected by the Secret Service who should have now learned to be a hell of a lot more careful, should she be the winner today.

It's a 'cheek squeezer' right now. Nerves are stretched as we watch the numbers come.

I just saw a kid on CNN say that he voting for Trump because he can speak without a script.  There are morons like this out there canceling out your vote.

What you commented and the fact that the MAGA cult even exists should be no surprise to anyone with a brain, and I've been aware since I was a teenager when I realized that the cause is due to the quality of most of American education, in particular at the primary to high school levels.  I don't question most American University education because both my children obtained their Masters degrees there and added to the fact that their previous education was in Canada and with both benefits they are leaders in their successful careers, both smart enough to think critically.

Off to work the polls with a parting shot, actually more of a heart felt thought…

This is a day we should all cherish…as it is in reverence we celebrate our heritage, it is in gratitude for those who sacrificed in giving us the opportunity, and it is in hope that the future is not lost in our pettiness.

To honor a wise man who is sorely missed…

Peace and Abundant Blessings!
