The Blame Game
The poor deluded souls were forced to. Rather than say they dont like Harris but we will deal with that through divided government, they chose to go with the "fun" candidate Trump. That is , fun if you like buffoonery, bigotry, unhinged anger, and straight up hate of the other.

I wish I could say I am amazed, or even surprised , by the flood of people now blaming the Democrats for the fact Trump will return to power. In many cases that is more convenient than looking in the mirror.

After all, most Americans dont know a damn thing about the findings of the Jan 6th committee, which prove almost beyond dispute that Trump is a traitor. Or they know and dont care because eggs cost 4 dollars a dozen.

This is ethical rot .

So lets blame the Democrats that 70 million people voted for the worst human being ever to run for president , on a major party ticket, in the United States.  The poor deluded souls were forced to. Rather than say they dont like Harris but we will deal with that through divided government, they chose to go with the "fun" candidate Trump. That is , fun if you like buffoonery, bigotry, unhinged anger, and straight up hate of the other.

Right wing media has conquered the hearts and minds of a lot of people that only superficially follow the news.  Or, are devoted to conspiracy thinking (there are a lot more of those than anyone wants to admit. )

The Europeans , aghast, know us better than we know ourselves.

Its not Kamala Harris' fault Americans want an authoritarian, its really not.

What does any of that have to do with people voting for a traitor?

You act like Trump is a reasonable default choice if the other candidate seems in any way deficient.  That stance is way beyond absurd.

She blew through one Billion dollars in 107 days, spent more than twice as much as Trump, and got billions more in .help from the legacy media, and spent was the sitting Vice President while Trump was fighting in court rooms.  Her problem was she had too long to campaign.  The more voters saw of her, the less they liked her. She'd have been in better shape if Biden dropped out on October 1.

It doesn't get much easier for a candidate than it was for Harris. All she had to to was be normal and answer simple questions.

Mr. Frost, to me it is clear, the electorate simply does not want a female president right now (and I don't know when it will). Because Donald Trump broke every rule known to polite and political societies (he basically/figuratively patted his butt in the camera at whim), and prior democrats even broke to him. At this point, it is what it is. Next time, run a man, up to the task, harsh character even, in order to counteract what republicans will definitely see as a winning style - knock down-dragging-case of hardass-ness and at the least it may stimulate the democratic base to get off its collectively butt and fight "like hell" politically.

Oh yeah, Donald Trump is a hustler. Oddly enough that old man out-hustled or matched Kamala's hustle stride for stride. It is what he does apparently. And it won. We have to do better/more/same. . . next time.

Well, let's get real: Trump is not losing with the 'stuff' he is using. There I said it. Now what are "we' going to do about it. (Donald Trump, the businessman has 'ate' the political class whole twice. . . and is sitting for 'dessert.'  We have to ask ourselves a question: What the hell 'drove' Musk, the richest man in the world, to support the biggest liar in the world. . .what was distasteful about democrats. . .and is it anything we can do about it (or not)?

We can't keep this two steps forward; three steps back, 'forever.' It's not good for the psyche. And yes, we have to find out how to be free without igniting the opposing sides culture war manipulation tactics. That is, it is bout time for democrats to start putting out some of the smothering/lingering fires inside our marches to freedom in order to reach, sustain, and be on the right track more times than on the wrong track at election times. (Another opportunity comes in two years. Start doing something to be ready for it NOW!)

What is sad, really sad, here to me is. . . twice 2 women have lost to Donald Trump. This has given us evidence that women can't win (three times the charm?) against some conservatives—they will just split the ticket "items" when they vote to get their way. That is their option, nevertheless.

Additionally, a larger percentage of minorities voted for Donald Trump (so I guess that makes it okay), so they have 'nobody' to complain to (including me) if/when sh-t hits the proverbial fan squarely and splatters on us all. Oh, a larger percentage of women are included (don't complain-won't listen:deaf ears).

The democratic party does need to get its collective sh-t together any way. All change ain't good. Especially when there is an imbalance in the public over understandings. For instance, I have long felt that the Democrats promised to fix DACA . . .and never, ever, did. Indeed, at some point they simply stopped talking about it. As if the 'recipients' of the program could forget or ignore there real-world desperation. So not having fixed DACA. . .came off as a manipulation at the end of the day. But, that is why consultants and politicians get paid the big bucks and the high-ranking jobs!

So now the (legal) Latinos, men and women, have joined to help fix (push out) their own kindred folks rightly or wrongly. Since government could not make up its damn mind across multiple administrations - they flipped from democrats helping to legalize to republicans throwing "them" out. It's weird. But, in a way its poetry.

The fact is. The Democratic Party has holes in its game and they damn well better fix them by next go around. Just assume that republicans are going to take an opposite position on whatever position democrats support—no matter how ineffable it is to believe the former GOP can run on it. They will divide the public, for sure.

That said, the public is feckless in what it wants at any given moment anyway.

How can an incumbent VP separate themselves from the incumbent President they're trying to succeed?  The leadership of the Democratic Party handed Kamala Harris an impossible task.  Forcing Joe Biden to give up his reelection bid didn't remove the Biden agenda and legacy from the ballot.

The ultimate insider of an incumbent VP, positioned to receive the most benefit from the sitting administration, could not run as a change candidate.  The leadership of the Democratic Party forced a 'stay the course' campaign onto Kamala Harris.  The leadership of the Democratic Party gambled that the electorate disliked Joe Biden, as a person, but liked Biden's agenda.  The leadership of the Democratic Party wanted Democrat leaning voters to look beyond Biden and endorse Democrat priorities, promises, and vision for the future.

The reality is that voters looked past Trump's flaws and endorsed Trump's MAGA priorities, promises, and vision for the future.  More voters overlooked Trump's flaws than overlooked Biden's/Harris' flaws.  More voters chose Trump's vision of the future than chose the Biden/Harris vision of the future.  More voters chose Republican priorities than Democrat priorities.

So, it really does look like voters were making choices on the issues.  Democracy really did work the way Joe Biden and Kamala Harris told us it was supposed to work.  Voters did for Trump what the Democratic leadership hoped voters would do for Harris.

The Bears lost in embarrassing fashion on sunday.  The Bears coach isn't blaming the Cardinals for running too smart of plays, or not missing tackles like the Bears hoped.  He's certainly not blaming them for not giving up and just admitting defeat because the Bears are "obviously" better.

Only a fool doesn't try and figure out why they lost and what they can do to avoid having it happen in the future.

Trump is not normal. But the public has chosen to normalize him, nevertheless. Just look at the numbers. This was not a mass 'protest' vote against Trump! It was asked to be-and the public said no to it.

We now have democratic voters voting republican over money matters and ignoring the fact that SCOTUS and the courts will be entirely dedicated to conservative points of view - only choosing to go with liberals on menial points of law while they covet major points of law.

I can blame the democrats because I saw some of the 'holes' in their game/plan, but far be it for me to tell consultants what they have data points to display and analyze (I don't) - I just have my wits.

Pelosi blames Biden:

had the president [Biden] gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race.”   “The anticipation was that, if the president were to step aside, that there would be an open primary. “ “And as I say, Kamala may have, I think she would have done well in that and been stronger going forward. But we don’t know that. That didn’t happen. We live with what happened. And because the president endorsed Kamala Harris immediately, that really made it almost impossible to have a primary at that time. If it had been much earlier, it would have been different”

Of course, if the Democrats, including Pelosi hadn't spent years conspiring to keep Biden's decline from the american public, maybe he would have dropped out sooner.  Instead their lie got exposed on national tv during a live debate and the compressed timeframe apparently kept them from nominating a suitable candidate.

The American voters, including those who voted for Biden in 2020 heard 'everything' Donald had to say and did during his campaign and they liked it enough to vote for him. We have to give him is success-like it or lump it. Let's speak truth to power and to ourselves, wherever it brings us. That will give us clarity! It's something we need now at the outset.

What is needed to start is practical and intelligent resistance, not blind resistance. We got skunked, for all the wrong reasons, but after all is said and done not enough people cared about the malformed character traits of Donald Trump, the former president or the man! On to policy resistance when it is implemented.

To be clear, I still charge Donald Trump with everything that is wrong with him in character, but it's time to move on to four years of seeing what this man intends and will do to 'us' and arguing for or against that. Since it will matter next time in 2026-28.

I'm just excited I won't have to pay taxes anymore like Trump is proposing.  The mass consumers, the people who have families and need to pay for things like cars, TVs, clothes, shoes, etc., will carry the burden under Trump economics, and people who have resources, or already have what they need, or don't have large families to maintain, won't be affected by maybe having to pay more for food.  Sounds great, doesn't it?
