The electorate just elected a scoundrel to the presidency rather than a positive, youthful, team who would work for the people instead of for himself and you (bizarrely) think that this was a result of the media giving unfair positive bias to Harris rather than to Trump.

The media should have been fact checking and countering the endless lies of Trump.   Instead, the propaganda of Trump resulted in the majority actually believing what he said.

Oh it's true. After all, any self-respecting media when told in so many ways to "eff off" by a candidate for president (of all personages) . . . .should have not given him EARNED MEDIA (free media). But, it did for the decency of it all. The MSM showed up and broadcasted the "performances" live in many cases.

How?  The mainstream media has been a Trump show since 2016.  The public knows much, much, much more about Trump than any other Washington politician.

An unelected bureaucracy imposing regulations onto people, whether they like or not, is not a feature of democracy.  A technocratic autocracy is still unaccountable to voters.  In fact, some parts of the technocratic autocracy is unaccountable to elected government.  That's not how democracy works.

The media is not a friend of anyone.

Once upon a time, some news organizations tried to inform the public about what was going on. But even in the best of times there was "Give me the stories and I'll give you the war!"

Since forever, most media is mainly about making money. Some media believe that good reporting is profitable. It's up to consumers to choose well.

Fox.

This is the most ludicrous of all possible takes.  Even if Fox was everything you claim it to be, it has a couple million viewers, tops. Its impact is dwarfed by the rest of the media, popular culture, education, and advertising, all of which are dominated by the Democratic Party.

At this point, it seems progressives won't be happy until the media literally takes the ballot from voters and votes for the Democrat.

The amount of live viewers is the smallest part of their influence.

And that goes for all other progressive  media too, from Morning Joe to Jimmy Kimmel.

Do you not realize how absurd it is to complain about the influence of Fox News stacked up against pretty much every  other form of news and entertainment that is available to voters and favors Democrats?

There is a distinction first off that FOX is not trading in newsworthiness. It is at 1.1.21 'entertainment' (and thus not to be trusted for news). The other news organizations have ethics and standards of journalism to abide by which causes them to be accountable for what they pen and broadcast. Mark the distinction.

Misleading Posts Say Hamas Called for 'Immediate End to War' with Israel After Trump's Election Win | Snopes.com

Even Trump's son Donald Trump Jr.  shared  the headline and claimed, "It took about 12 hours after my father's election win for Hamas to call for peace! @realDonaldTrump isn't even president yet and he's already getting it done. Spectacular."

It's true that Hamas spokesperson Basem Naim delivered a statement about the Israel-Hamas conflict to Newsweek on Nov. 6, the day after Trump was elected. However, Trump's supporters misleadingly characterized that statement as a call for an end to the war, when in fact Naim called for, in his words, an end to Israel's "aggression against our people, especially in Gaza," and an end to what he described as the United States' "blind support" for Israel.

Putin is ready to end the war, as long as he gets what he wants

MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin is ready to discuss Ukraine with Donald Trump but that does not mean he is willing to alter Moscow's demands, the Kremlin said on Friday.

Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the remarks after being asked at his daily news briefing if Putin's readiness to talk to the Republican president-elect reflected a willingness to change those demands.

"The president has never said that the goals of the special military operation are changing. On the contrary, he has repeatedly said that they remain the same," Peskov said.

"All this concerns the security interests of our country, the security interests of the Russian people living there. Therefore, there was no talk of any changes here."

... on condition that the podcaster knows what they're talking about.

That potentially is because podcasts have the 'luxury' of being relaxed and less corporatized, and novel. Remember the media is well-practiced and reasonably old at what they do. . .so they have ironed out most of the kinks in their business models and unfortunately have learned how to manipulate nearly all the good and bad 'tricks of the trade' in their services. (We have all seen media 'evolve' over the years.) Given time (and survival as a medium) podcasts and other digital media outlets will learn a few tricks of the trade of their own. But, that takes time to 'shake' itself out of the model.
