“Let's explore the words that we've destroyed through misuse.”
Etymology is fun. Yup, I really believe that. Where words were born and how they got to be where they are now. Clear, concise communication requires all parties to understand the same things from the same words. Sloppy speech is anti-social. Then again... I've been called a grammar-Nazi.

“Inside the Mind of the Pickup Truck Owner: CityNerd Responds to Truck-splainers”
I live in the Southwest. Beautiful scenery and the occasional coyote. The city and county are strictly for motor vehicles. Housing is "single-family only", miles from the nearest mall. Nothing is within walking or biking distance. There is almost no bike or pedestrian infrastructure. This is...

“It's no gas station. Electrify America has opened an indoor charging station that lets drivers relax in a lounge while their electric vehicle...”
My wife and I are homeowners, so we'd have no problem charging at home. I can see a place for this setup... for a while, as we settle into the new tech. But I wonder if they will last.

I'm not a truck person. Trucks are irrational for most people. But hey! Motor vehicles are very largely irrational purchases. A three-pointed star costs money! Like a Mercedes, trucks are often ego-stoking, look-at-me fashion accessories. I do resent having my taxes subsidize the fuel these...

“Small-form-factor is cool. Intel invented the 4" x 4" size with its NUC series, but when the Chinese arrived, Intel gave up.”
I bought a 4" x 4" mini PC a year ago. I'm not a gamer, so I don't need top-of-the-line. It has a mid-range AMD Ryzen chip, and RAM and disks from the previous machine. I run both Windows and Linux on it.

This would be my choice, if I want to stretch my budget a bit. Excellent performance, quality interior. Volvos are kinda expensive, and there's a reason: they're good cars!
