Pastor John MacArthur Warns Biden to ‘Be Careful When You Put Your Hand on the Word of God’
MacArthur cautioned Biden on placing his hand on the Bible while pledging “to do the very things that blaspheme His name.” “You can say whatever you want to say,” he began “but when you touch the ark, when you place your hand on the throne of God, because God is enthroned in His Word, and you place your hand on the Word of God and pledge to do the very things that blaspheme His name.” “God doesn't want your respect, He wants your obedience”, MacArthur asserted.

This pastor is so right on about so many issues both biblically and on issues of politics and current events.  He stands for Biblical teachings as they are and expresses the current sexual and reproductive deviancy in the current America vs what was intended perfectly well.  His resistance to our stupid about to be recalled governor and his local city and county blue leader pandemic dictates is well known and deeply appreciated.  Thank God that there are still lights like his shining upon a dark sin filled world.  His warning to our President was perfect!

On Sunday, Pastor-teacher John MacArthur of Grace Community Church offered a stern warning to President Joe Biden following last week’s inauguration.

MacArthur cautioned Biden on placing his hand on the Bible while pledging “to do the very things that blaspheme His name.”

“You can say whatever you want to say,” he began “but when you touch the ark, when you place your hand on the throne of God, because God is enthroned in His Word, and you place your hand on the Word of God and pledge to do the very things that blaspheme His name.”

“God doesn't want your respect, He wants your obedience”, MacArthur asserted.

“Don’t tell me you advocate for the slaughter of babies in the womb,” he continued. “Don’t tell me you want to destroy masculinity, femininity, marriage. Don’t tell me you want to fill the world with LGBTQ people in leadership, you want to justify transgender activity. Don’t tell me you want to invite more Muslims in who represent a religion from Hell and then put your hand on the throne of God.”

MacArthur, who has been pastoring the Los Angeles based church since 1969, made headlines last year for defying the state’s COVID restrictions on houses of worship that resulted in fines and court hearings.

Over a week ago last Sunday, he addressed how mainstream media outlets like ABC, CNN and the Los Angeles Times along with “ungodly bloggers” attempted to discredit his church, The Christian Post reports.

“They tried every way to close Grace Church. And I think it is true that there is no more scrutinized church in the United States of America than Grace Community Church,” MacArthur explained. “I’m still here.”

MacArthur also alluded to the recent scandals among well-known Christian leaders such as the late apologist Ravi Zacharias and Carl Lentz , the former pastor of Hillsong New York.

“First of all, phonies are going to have a hard time hiding with the internet. We’re seeing one after another after another,” he noted “Dead ones and alive ones. This dead apologist had a deviant sex life. This cool dude rock and roll pastor was immoral with multiple women for years and years.”

The context of MacArthur’s comments addressed how there is “a superficial Christianity” that has tried to “appeal to nonbelievers” yet they don’t come to saving faith because of the corruption that has taken place amongst its leaders.

He argued that it would be difficult to call the church to repentance since “superficial Christianity made a lot of money” and “elevated a lot of charlatans.” Nevertheless, he believes that there is currently a “shifting and sifting” between the true church and a false church.

MacArthur addressed the importance of Christ at the heart of the Christian faith as that is the only way Christianity would have any appeal.

“We preach Christ, right? And you’re attracted to Him, right? But if there are people out there looking at Christianity, it has to be uninviting, maybe even repulsive. Who are these people? Filthy rich, immoral, corrupt, narcissistic. If it weren’t for Jesus Christ, Christianity would have no appeal,” he argued.

We find this principle in Romans 1, which describes the spiritual and moral declension of the human race. In sum, because we rejected God, He gave us over to foolish idolatry. Then, as we persisted in sin, He gave us over to sexual immorality, then to sexual perversion, then to every kind of moral evil.

We find this same principle in 2 Thessalonians 2, but this time in terms of delusional beliefs, as those who reject God’s truth will end up following the Antichrist.

As Paul wrote, “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

Notice carefully: God Himself sends these persistent unbelievers “a powerful delusion.” They are hardened in their sin, just as Pharaoh was in Exodus. (For a detailed treatment of the Hebrew verbs involved in the biblical account, see here.)

In some cases, we simply reap what we sow, meaning that, the more we walk in error, the further we get into error. The more we walk in disobedience, the more we disobey. (See Galatians 6:7-8.)

In other cases, as with the texts just referenced, God actively gives people over to delusion and deception. This is the judgment they experience for refusing to yield.

Today, we are witnessing a similar phenomenon, be it with people reaping what they have sown or with God giving them over to delusion. Either way, it is frightening to watch this unfold here and now, right in front of our own eyes.

For example, those who continue to believe in the QAnon conspiratorial mythsare now espousing even more extreme and bizarre theories....

Thus the answer to your question based on the above and my understanding is yes, if they did it in Gods name as opposed to mere personal as an individual wishful thinking and if the former haven’t repented of it.  Doubling down upon such a mistaken prophecy done as if it came from God would lead to effects as described in the snippet above.

Perhaps you might remember him in the context of his and others recent defiance of Ca. And local urban counties and their recent win before the Supreme Court.

The ruling came in a case led by South Bay United Pentecostal Church in the San Diego area, noted Politico, which reported that the court released a similar order in a parallel suit filed by Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena. The churches argued that they should have the same freedom as shopping malls and retail businesses that are allowed to operate at 25% of their capacity.

Chief Justice John Roberts took a middle path and voted, along with Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, to lift the ban on indoor worship while retaining the restriction on singing, according to The Wall Street Journal.

“The applicants bore the burden of establishing their entitlement to relief from the singing ban. In my view, they did not carry that burden—at least not on this record,” Barrett wrote.

Roberts wrote, “The State’s present determination—that the maximum number of adherents who can safely worship in the most cavernous cathedral is zero—appears to reflect not expertise or discretion, but instead insufficient appreciation or consideration of the interests at stake. Deference, though broad, has its limits.”

“Don’t tell me you advocate for the slaughter of babies in the womb,” he continued.

Why not?  God did.

God teaches the use of a bizarre ritual using cursed “bitter water” to abort a fetus who was conceived through infidelity.   ( Numbers 5:11-21 )

God orders Moses to kill every Midianite woman who was no longer a virgin.   (many of these women would obviously have been pregnant)   ( Numbers 31:15-18 )

God promises to destroy the infants of Samaria and rip open the stomachs of pregnant women.

The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword;  their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.   ( Hosea 13:16 )

God allows the pregnant women of Tappuah to be ripped open .

At that time Menahem, starting out from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in the city and its vicinity, because they refused to open their gates.   He sacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.   ( 2 Kings 15:16 )

The bottom line as to the absolute truth we conservative evangelical Christians believe and stand up for.  There have been good people coming out of all these things in their worst forms who have seen the error of supporting abortion, the LGTBQ lifestyle and agenda, as well of the extreme forms of Islam and renounced them.  While hierarchical Islam is a counterfeit there are many good people within it who will most certainly be among the saved in Heaven.

You're only proving the futility of using an ancient book written by ancient, often violent, men to determine what is moral and what isn't.

Your pastor can't claim that abortion is against the word of God, when God explicitly commanded that abortions be performed, and never explicitly prohibited them.  Abortion is something that he and you oppose, but you can't claim God's backing.

If you agree with me that murder is wicked, you'll see it as wicked no matter who commits it, and not give your God a pass.  Of course, as I see no reason to suppose that either your God or the murders he committed are actually real, I don't face such moral dilemmas.  I'm free of the hypocritical need to both condemn murder and defend it.

Demonstrably false!

nor are we mere mortals in any position to sit in judgement of any of His actions.

Says who?

The rest of the universe has already judged and endorsed His actions here on earth dealing with Satan and the sin rebellion problem.

That's nice. Prove it! Given the distance between worlds, it's unlikely the rest of the universe is even aware of our existence. Or that it actually cares.

So because God destroyed all the wicked by water via the flood

Also demonstrably false!

and will do it again by fire after the final judgement makes it ok to commit murder now because God once did judge and will again carry out a final judgement?

SO God is ok with murder and even commits it himself, but somehow it's wrong? That's quite hypocritical. Not to mention a glaring logical flaw in your god and bible! Case in point, " And that included women who happened to be pregnant at the moment of judgement."

God doesn’t otherwise want anyone to die before their time, including the pre born.

So why doesn't god prevent it if he doesn't want it? God can do anything, right?

God has no double standards nor are we mere mortals in any position to sit in judgement of any of His actions.

You should at some point seriously try to comprehend your beliefs.    They come from ancient men dreaming up the best God they could.   There is no evidence of God or Satan;  just words from human beings.    And these words contradict themselves.

For example —in terms you should understand— you believe that God picks the leaders of nations based on the Bible.  Thus God picked Trump and God picked Biden.   But you also believe that Biden stole the election.   From God??   Clearly something is wrong with these beliefs.   So which is it?   Is Biden the legitimate God-picked PotUS?   If so, then you should stop defying God by claiming the election was stolen.  If Biden is not legit (in your dreams) then Biden has put one over on God.

Contradictions are an excellent method for logically proving falsehoods.

Of course that is the exact opposite of what occurs.   The Bible puts forth grand claims that have, for thousands of years, failed to be evidenced (much less proven).   Not being persuaded that these words by ancient men are true — especially given the contradictions — is the default position.   Actually believing this stuff requires denial of facts and reason.   That denial has been packaged up and sold as 'faith'.

Eternal life and living in paradise with Him and having an eternity to explore the universe with no sadness, sickness, or death is not a rational persons idea of a bogey man.  People will believe in Him by faith and receive eternal life or they won’t.  Everyone has free will to chose whether to believe or not.  Those demanding signs and wonders or “proof” so that they might be made to believe will have chosen not and the related consequences.

Empty threats from your cosmic boogeyman is hardly convincing or persuasive. It's just fear mongering, which religions frequently use to keep people in line and ignorant!

I can place them in proper context unlike any generic willful non believer who only reads to try to find fault in order to justify their choice to deny and not believe...

Such arrogance! What makes your interpretations and better or worse than someone else's? A non-believer (or other critical thinking individual) will not simply accept what's said for belief's sake. Some actually analyze what's being said. Simply accepting/believing something, no questions asked, because someone else said or wrote it is just being gullible and willfully ignorant.

Actually He is a just and fair God who is love.

Also demonstrably false. Even according to your bible!

He made it possible to be redeemed from rebellion and restored to our original condition like Adam and Eve were before they fell into rebellion.

Even though he caused the problem in the first place.

People will believe in Him by faith and receive eternal life or they won’t.

That sounds like something along the lines of what a con artist would say. What's the saying about something sounding too good to be true?

Everyone has free will to chose whether to believe or not.

If there were a god, there would be no free will. But some are simply incapable of believing anything without evidence.

Those demanding signs and wonders or “proof” so that they might be made to believe will have chosen not and the related consequences.

In other words, don't look behind the curtain.

Still just an empty declaration with no evidence or veracity.

It is the great commission and thus his job to do exactly that.  There is no arrogance in preaching and teaching about a supreme entity from the material He left us via inspired persons He directed the expression of in their writing ✍️ of His love letter to us.

It is the height of arrogance for a human being to claim to know and then speak on the wishes of a singular supreme entity.   It is hard to imagine anything more arrogant than that.

In case you need a refresher:  arrogant ≡ " Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities ."

Fortunately fascist militant secularists/atheists in America don’t get to dictate to Christians the terms of which we get to express ourselves about God and or our religious beliefs.  Their opinions on such matters are less than meaningless to believers as we maintain our faith and beliefs and engage in the great commission to bring the content of our beliefs as good news to every man woman and child living on the face of the earth.

Where do you find fascist militant secularists/atheists?   If that is who you think is challenging your comments then your imagination is in overdrive.

Blind belief.   Confirmation bias.   Imagined reality.   So impressive.  384

Nobody is trying to.  We're free to point out the inconsistencies, and will continue to do so.

God is defined as omniscient and perfect yet He is surprised, disappointed and has had His mind changed.   An omniscient, perfect entity cannot (by definition) be surprised, disappointed or change His mind.   He already has perfect knowledge.

That is one of many contradictions in the fantasy product of ancient men.

Literal one week creation when it happened is no fantasy.  It’s the truth as to our origins.

Do you think anyone is impressed by your unsupported declarations of truth?   Who are you to deem that we were created and that it took one week?   If you deem this truth then you bear the burden of proof.   The best you can do is simply declare this as your belief.   Then you bear no burden of proof but your unsupported declaration remains laughable.

I'm certainly not surprised. There is never any logical rebuttal offered. Only intellectual dishonesty and dodging.
