Donald Trump's campaign has raised more than $4million for the families of the three men either killed and wounded during Saturday's assassination attempt.

As of writing, the number on the Trump-sanctioned GoFundMe was at $4,328,763 - more than four times its initial $1million goal.

All donations will be divvied up by relatives of late firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50; David Dutch, 57; and James Copenhaver, 74, as they either mourn or wait for their loved ones to recover.

The Trump team confirmed the GoFundMe's authenticity to The Hill, as the two living victims are said to be at hospitals in stable condition.

Donald Trump's campaign has raised more than $4million for families of the three men either killed and wounded during Saturday's assassination attempt

All donations will be divvied up by relatives of late firefighter Corey Comperatore (pictured), or the two men wounded in the attack, as they mourn or wait for their loved ones to recover

'President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today's brutal and horrific assassination attempt,' a description on the highly trafficked webpage reads.

'All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover.

'May God bless and unite our nation,' it concludes.

More than 358 people proceeded to comment to show their support - as an astronomical 56,5000 people opened up their figurative wallets.

The top donation appeared to be from former Trump donor Steve Wynn, a billionaire former casino operator who has lobbied for the GOP frontrunner relentlessly.

That gift clocked in at an eye-watering $50,000, from a man handpicked by Trump to be finance chair of the Republican National Committee in 2017.

In the comments, onlookers expressed sorrow over the single life lost as a result of the shooting, as well as feelings of empathy for the still suffering victims and their families.

Most singled out Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who was struck by one of 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks' bullets while rushing to protect his family.

He was hailed as 'a brave man, a patriot, and a husband, son and father,' and posthumously promised, 'This country will always remember you.'

Currently recovering are David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, a former marine and retiree, respectively

Most donators singled out Comperatore, a firefighter who was struck by one of 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks' bullets while rushing to protect his family. He is seen in this undated Buffalo Township Fire Company 27 handout photo, as many mourned the loss

All were shot by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who somehow managed to get just 130 yards from where the aspiring president was speaking in Butler. An investigation is underway

Others brought up the two remaining men, both of whom had been critically wounded, but are now said to be in stable condition.

Copenhaver, a retiree who hailed from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, was a grandfather who left behind a wife and two kids.

Dutch, meanwhile, was from New Kensington, and had been an ex Marine

'He has had one surgery and undergoing another this morning,' MCL District 8 vice commandant Matt Popovich wrote in a post to Facebook. 'He is currently in an induced coma.'

The rush of donations come as the Secret Service faces mounting questions over how Crooks managed to get just 130 yards from where the aspiring president was speaking in Butler.

The Butler resident shot Trump in the ear with an AR-style rifle his father purchased legally, and was killed by Secret Service agents within seconds. An investigation is underway.

If it wasn't an election year, they wouldn't have gotten a dime. These are the same people that stole from a cancer charity.

I could not find the fund mentioned in the article

but a separate fund for Alisyn Comperatore with a goal of $7K for the funeral has already raised $ 1.1 million

  GoFundMe campaign has been created

Although it is gratifying to see such generosity, unfortunately money doesn't buy a life, nor does it in the USA have any control over the proliferation of guns and gun violence.

if it is any consolation Buzz , i have seen one article since the attempt , calling for the banning of AR-`15s .

unfortunately it will get about as much attention as a canary fart in a pet store full of kittens .

Of course.  In America a curtailing of the gun proliferation has about the same chance as the men of America agreeing to be castrated.  I can hear it now:  "You'll have to take my balls before you take my gun."  It's all about "manhood".  It's all about acceptance of and preparedness for the military.

yeah i know but if you ask most guys , they count that as losing them  , i know an old hand who had a horse kick him between the uprights , he was old , told them just cut them off because thatswhat he would do to his livestock with this type of injury  , they refused and tried to convince him that even if he wasnt using them , he still needed what they produced .

they finally convinced him to let them operate to save them , they told him if they didnt he would end up riding side saddle and spending more on calico during shopping trips . that convinced him , his wifes fabric bill was already killing him .

President Donald Trump has authorized this account

Uh, yeah, whatever. That’s horseshit. GoFundMe doesn’t require any special authorization from Donald Trump. Regular people set these things up every day.

As of writing, the number on the Trump-sanctioned GoFundMe was at $4,328,763

Yeah? How much money did Trump the Billionaire personally donate? I bet it’s a number that - ironically - rhymes with “hero.”

Trump has a documented history of engaging in charity fraud.  Be aware.

From 2019:

Justice  Saliann Scarpulla  of the New York Supreme Court  ordered President Donald Trump  to  pay $2 million in restitution  to charity after admitting to New York Attorney General  Letitia James  that he and his children had violated their fiduciary duties as officers and directors of the now-shuttered  Donald J. Trump Foundation . As a result of that failure, charitable dollars — consistently and over many years — often benefited Trump rather than the causes the president has repeatedly claimed he supports.

What kind of a 'man', is found not worthy of being affiliated with a Charity ?

He supposedly used funds to purchase a bust, of himself. And this 'man' is going to be voted for by millions of Americans....how low can this country affordably go...?

I think we know.

Donations to victims of the shooting is a wonderful thing, but anyone who would trust Trump with their money is asking to get ripped off.

this 'man' is going to be voted for by millions of Americans....how low can this country affordably go...?

If Trump gets elected it's going to be at a huge cost to the country and to all of us.

I really dislike the questionable source and some of the language used.

case in point. Mr. Copenhaver is recovering in hospital but this is in the article a bit prematurely.

Copenhaver, a retiree who hailed from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, was a grandfather who left behind a wife and two kids.

I agree the GFM fund is unremarkable, not astonishing at all, it was a decent thing to do and worth it's gold in benefiting Trump.

Donald lent his name in order to get money for the people/families of those that died or were injured.  It is now over 5 million dollars.

That Bastard.
