Democrats in Congress Give Iranian Protesters the Middle Finger

Democrats have turned against the people of Iran because our President supports them and because they blame the regime Obama dealt with with instead of Trump for the plane being shot down. The last thing democrats want is a successful Iranian revolution and Trump getting credit for it. Democrats are mad we killed the terrorist Obama did business with.

Democrats in the House have blocked a resolution sponsored by Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy that would have condemned the Iranian government's crackdown on protesters. The vote to block consideration of the resolution was 226-191.
Democrats are apparently going to draft their own resolution, no doubt filled with weasel words and apologizing to Iran for...something.
The resolution would have condemned the Government of Iran for killing 1,500 Iranian citizens who were protesting their government, as well as condemned the Government of Iran for shooting down Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752, killing 176 people.
In addition, the resolution ; “(3) condemns the Government of Iran for repeatedly lying to its people and to the world about its responsibility for the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752; (4) calls on the Government of Iran to— (A) refrain from the use of violence; and (B) protect the rights of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly; and (5) supports the protestors in Iran, their demands for accountability, and their desire for the Government of Iran to respect freedom and human rights.”
Any resolution drafted by the Democrats almost certainly won't have any bite to it. We know this because of the way Speaker Nancy Pelsoi responded to a question from George Stephanopoulos on Sunday where the ABC host asked Pelosi if she supported the protesters.
"Well, the regime — the protesters are — are protesting, as I understand it, this brand of protesters, about the fact that that plane went down. And many students were on that plane. And these are largely students in the street," Pelosi said. "I think the Iranians should have not had commercial flights going off when there was."
Sorry, Madam Speaker, but I don't speak gibberish.
A rough translation might be, 1) protesters are protesting; 2) because there were many students on the plane (there weren't) the students in the streets are sad; 3) the Iranians are too stupid to know the difference between an American bomber and a commercial jet.
When pressed by Stephanopoulos, Pelosi got even more incoherent.
"Taking down this plane is a terrible, terrible tragedy. And they should be held accountable for letting commercial flights go at a time that was so, so dangerous," Pelosi said. "But there are different reasons why people are in the street. Of course, we would love to see the aspirations of the people of Iran realized with a better situation there, but escalating the situation — unless we’ve exhausted every other remedy ..."
The "aspirations" of the people in the streets are clear: down with the government. And just who is doing the "escalating"? If the government is firing live rounds into a crowd of their citizens, it hardly matters who's at fault.
Democrats refuse to support the protesters in the streets of Iran because Trump supports them. It's really no more complicated than that and Democrats are going to have their own resolution that will find a way to blame the United States for everything.
It's pathetic that the people's representatives can't bring themselves to condemn oppression.
