Cuomo is finally appreciative!

We the People

The Governor of New York who received 4,000 ventilators from the President a few weeks ago and 400 ventilators for the city of New York courtesy of FEMA, has finally found something to be grateful for!  The government of Communist China has come to New York's rescue and donated - get this - 1,000 ventilators to the state of New York.  The Governor couldn't be more appreciative:

"We finally got some good news today. The Chinese government helped facilitate a donation of 1,000 ventilators that will arrive in JFK today." "I thank the Chinese government, Jack Ma, Joe Tsai, the Jack Ma Foundation, the Tsai Foundation and Consul General Huang."

Also worth mentioning (rightly so) was Oregon Gov Kate Brown, who donated 140 ventilators:

"We are so grateful to Gov. Kate Brown and the people of Oregon. On behalf of the people of NY, I thank you and rest assured that NY will repay the favor when Oregon needs it."

One note of caution Andrew:

Chinese manufacturers last month were found to have distributed faulty testing supplies to Spain and the Czech Republic.

The Governor has finally found it in his heart to thank somebody!

If the President wants a simple thank you from Cuomo, all he needs to do is ship the ventilators by way of China!

Trump, Cuomo, and everyone else in government should do their jobs whether or not anyone publicly thanks them.

Of course, only Trump pouts over whether or not someone publicly thanks him for doing his damn job.

It goes a little bit beyond that John. A helping hand doesn't warrant a slap in the face. Of course, that's what we can always expect from the left.

“You want a pat on the back for sending 400 ventilators?” asked Cuomo, referring to the number FEMA was sending to New York. “What are we going to do with 400 ventilators?”

Andrew bend over...

I have a theory there. They want her as Biden VP so if by some crazy miracle he were to ever have even the slightest chance of being elected, they could just admit he has dementia and then the US would have their first female president. Not by vote of course but via the normal democrat tricks and skirting of systems.

Your theory is... uh...irrelevant.   Biden has already said he is going to choose a woman to be his vice president, be it the governor of Michigan or someone else. Should he not finish his term for any reason, there will be the first female president. No need for "tricks".

OK, I have had it. NY is bearing the brunt of this pandemic right now, and Cuomo has been working fine with the president and you have to make everything political. China does not have to send us ventilators, but they did. Neither does Oregon. The national stockpile is for the states, (although its official statement just changed yesterday), and you are trying to make it like Cuomo is the bad guy. Oddly enough, not even the president is saying that.

I find it disgusting that even in a time of hardship, partisanship still goes on.

This article "obviously" is intended to be strident and incendiary. The partisans intend to toss a 'hot flaming one' down the lane here. I wouldn't give 'em the satisfaction. Let them gripe. If Trump and the republican party is bent out of shape, because China is appreciated for during a good deed to New York, tough.

Governor Cuomo is right to give appreciation where it is deserved and criticism when it is appropriate.

BTW, Trump does not use the words, "sorry," "apology," for anything he does. It is as if he wants to delude the public into accepting that his "shit" does not stink! We all know that is a lie straight out of Hell. And, I am not being partisan to mention this. I am simply tired of the cruelty and pettiness from those who think they have a cause to climb on their high horse crying foul

Their asses are not dying daily!

Hmmmm - that being your logic, where is the "appreciation" being shown to the Russians who delivered a full plane load of PPE?  Don't see that making any headlines.

"Russian state media  said  the plane was carrying “60 tons of medical equipment, ventilators, masks  &  other protection gear.” The shipment to New York — the state with the most coronavirus cases — followed a  Monday call  between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in which “the United States has agreed to purchase needed medical supplies, including ventilators and personal protection equipment, from Russia,” the  U.S.  State Department said in a  statement  issued Wednesday evening.

“We sincerely thank you for all of the assistance you’re bringing in,” a New York air traffic controller  said  shortly before the plane, an Antonov An-124 landed. “You’re welcome and thanks,” the pilot responded."

So, hey Cuomo - where's your thanks to President Trump and the Russians for the 60 tons of PPE that you got last week???

1,000 ventilators - 1.3 million respirators from China/Oregon and the 60 tons of PPE from Russia - gotta feeling that NY needs to STFU for now, ya think?

Excuse me? I have dead friends. Do you? We have 122,192 confirmed cases and (4,159) dead, with 1,000 alone yesterday. Do you? How dare you tell us to shut up when we are taking the brunt of the misery. Is that the way you would like us to react if it was your state? I didn't realize it was every state out for itself and that we were no longer the United States.

I have looked at Gov. Cuomo's tweeter feed and he does thank many different efforts to help New York up to, touching, and going beyond April 1st the day of the Russian cargo craft landing in New York City. What occurred that specific date that it is not mentioned (that I can locate) somebody else may have to discover. So far, I have not found a reasonable cause for may have been an overlook of Russia. BTW, I have not listened to the entirety of the April 1, 2020 New York Daily Briefing to know if mention or appreciation of Russian support/aid was mentioned there.

OK Perrie - get your skin unruffled.  Yes, I have dead friends and dead relatives from DIFFERENT states.  This "illness" is NOT about NY - it's about the world and we have to look at what is also happening to the rest of the world.  Are you going to be as rambunctious if another city/state starts to exceed the illness/deaths of NY?  You gonna have any empathy for them?

I don't watch Cuomo's newsfeeds, but if you'll notice from CB below, he didn't see/hear any thanks regarding the Russia either.  That was my point.  Why thank China and not Russia?  Why thank Oregon and not Italy who, incidentally, has also sent PPE to NYC.

I HATE the friggin' media for starting this cut-throat reporting, pitting one city against another - one state against another - and, finally, the U. S. against the U. S.

The onus is not on the shoulders of the folks/government of NY - it is on ALL of us.  Treat it as such.  That's what we do as a "People" - remember?

I understand Perrie taking what is occurring in NY on a personal basis and I agree with the tantamount anger/frustration with what is occurring.  But, it is not only NY that is suffering from this illness/disease - it is the world.

My posting of threads on the Navajo Nation is to make others on the "blog" aware that, not only are white/green/brown/black/yellow/mulatto folks getting the illness, but so are the Native Americans, the Red people, and to a much greater impact than the "rest of the U.S.".

We are the "Invisible People".  Nowhere have I nor any of the Native Americans on NT slammed/ridiculed folks who didn't "feel" or profess empathy for the plight of the Native Americans during this time.  That is not our way.  We teach - we educate - we share stories - but we don't call someone/anyone out who disagrees with us regardless of the situation nor cause.

If NT doesn't want to see/read/hear about Native Americans - fine - so be it.

Perrie has my empathy for the suffering going on in her neck of the woods, but her neck of the woods is not the center of my world.

I am more than aware that this disease is not just about NY, but right NOW, we are bearing the brunt. You don't have to tell me about the world 1st. My future son in law's family is in Palma, Italy, where they are dropping like flies and my own family is in London, which is not far behind. So I don't need a lecture about what is going on around the world. And of course I care about what happens to my fellow Americans. I thought I made that perfectly clear when I said we are the UNITED states, so asking me if I am going to have any empathy for my fellow Americans is just insulting.

Why thank China and not Russia?

China sent 1,000 ventilators. That is not a drop in the bucket 1st, so yeah our gov thanked them. Seems like the decent thing to do.

Russia sent some PPE but here is why:

Turning the Tables, Russia Sends Virus Aid to U.S.

A planeload of coronavirus aid to New York was a propaganda coup for the Kremlin — tempered by an intensifying epidemic at home.

Oregon is amazing for sending help. Italy has not, nor do I expect them to right now, so I am not sure where you got that.

My gov didn't do anything wrong. He makes a point of being thoughtful about what he says and despite what is being said here, he is not disrespectful to the President, which is why for the most part, the President has mostly nice things to say about Cuomo.

The onus is not on the shoulders of the folks/government of NY - it is on ALL of us.  Treat it as such.  That's what we do as a "People" - remember?

You were the one who said " gotta feeling that NY needs to STFU for now, ya think?". Does that sound like we are all in this together? And which people are you referring to 1st? The American people, who I think for the most part are thankful not to be NY and are concerned (rightfully so) what will happen when this is at their front door (our governer said clearly today, that we will be shipping our medical PPE and equipment to where it is needed next) or the Indian people, who would never make statements like " gotta feeling that NY needs to STFU for now, ya think?"

I never implied that my world was the center of yours. But here, let me tell you what is going on in my neck of the woods with my tribe. The Shinnacock are starving. They are frightened to let outsiders in since there is little medical care out east and it won't go to them. So they have set up food tents that rely on donations and yes I give to them... a lot. Again, you are lecturing while trying to make me seem out of touch with the rest of our nation. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Totally agree. Never. That is simply far too rude, and there are no Native Americans that I know would be rude and crude enough to say anything like that. However, evidently, there are some who do.

And being of Native American heritage it is not like you don't understand or sympathize with the Native American Tribes that are also facing a high number of cases and deaths due to C-19. For anyone to think that you don't care is totally ridiculous.

As far as partisanship is concerned, you have to admit there has been plenty of it going both ways in this situation.  But in the end, as you say, there shouldn’t be any of it in this time of hardship. Totally, but between both Cuomo and President Trump they have developed a good working relationship at this point. And he has thanked the president for efforts taken at his daily briefings. With all due respect, this comment is absurd.  If moderates had stepped up , years ago now, and denounced Trumpism, specifically, we would be much farther along in getting rid of this utter plague on our society.  Instead "moderates" continue to posit "both sides are equally at fault" -like comments and "arguments".   Sorry, both sides are not equally at fault.  I seeded an article today from a columnist at the Washington Post. He explains why history will be pitiless towards Donald Trump. Trump is the worst president in US history. There is almost no doubt that history will judge him as such. Why are so many "moderates" so afraid to say that now, while it matters to those alive today?  "Both sides -ism" is no service to America.

Open borders, government run healthcare, wealth redistribution, over taxation, a bloated  bureaucracy with a budget that grows every year. That is what democrats have offered and has been rejected by half the population.

I hope you are not calling yourself a moderate.  There is no mainstream Democrat who has called for open borders that I know of.  Over taxation?

No, The U.S. Is Not Overtaxed

...
Aug 20, 2019  · Despite what you may have heard,  Americans are taxed less than  residents of almost  any other major  developed country. And in 2017, the U.S. ran …

================================================

Trump has ADDED to the national debt, and that was even before the coronavirus trillions.

Hillary Clinton is a moderate.  The "left" hates her.  Most Trump supporters have been bamboozled by the inaccuracies and conspiracy minded nonsense from conservative media.

what kind of a person even wants to kick another that is down...?

Really?

There are quite a few more "liberal" people here who take great pride in trying to do just that on daily basis.   Are you so chivalrous when that happens?

Nope

Never seen it happen then

...... makes one wonder don't ya know ....

I find it disgusting that even in a time of hardship, partisanship still goes on.

I agree but like so many other things the left is doing it's level best to weaponize this crisis against Trump.   Non stop

Cuomo hardly has the market cornered in that regard and Its not even close really.

If people here railed against that every time Trump was getting a partisan bashing here, the rails would reach from NYC to San Fransisco and beyond.

What kind of a "Leader" needs his ass kissed to deliver what States DESPERATELY NEED to save lives ?

.

If Trump would STOP making a Circus out of the briefings, talking in babbling circular code, contradicting HIS OWN EXPERTS, attacking Democratic Governors, and again LYING about things, he might be given some slack.

He has fumbled his way through this and his incompetence or just plain denial, has and will, cost US lives.

If he were Capable of leading, still not sure he could do things that might not benefit himself, or his finanial status.

.
He has choked, and it is obvious he haas choked.

People would get behind him if he would be honest with US, and explain his plans to defeat this virus.

To date, he hasn't.

Thus the attacks, that he has earned.

Show me one that does and i'll let you know.   Until such time, your comment is just emotional, partisan nonsense.

Thus the attacks, that he has earned.

This illustrates the weight of a TDS ridden mind.   Hilarious

Governor Cuomo has time and time again thanked President Trump when appropriate. The governor of New York has reserved for himself the liberty to speak up when there are shortages in the system or in efficient coordination. Equally, it is important and helpful to appreciate the Chinese government for its expenditure in our nation's time of desperation.

I think some have forgotten that the US is not a monarchy.

We know that Trump thinks it is, and that he is the ruler of the monarchy. However, in a real monarchy he would not last 10 minutes after he opened his mouth.

some serious disrespect to one that always tries to be fair, and is obviously dealing with an awful lot right now.

Very pathetic showing of disrespect in my humble opinion.
