Democrats steal Virginia
“No matter who you are or where you live in Virginia, your voice deserves to be heard....Governor Northam

We the People

Major news organizations aren't really reporting it. It was just revealed to the nation moments ago by Fox's Tucker Carlson. Virginia Governor, Ralph Northam signed a bushel of new laws that repeal Virginia’s voter ID law, make Election Day a state holiday in Virginia, and expand access to early voting. Democrats are obviously using the pandemic crisis as a way to change election law. As Tucker Carlson said the democrats in Virginia got every bit of what they wanted.

459024.jpg

The Governor who was not long ago mired in a scandal, has just opened the door to widespread election fraud in the state of Virginia. It's no wonder his fellow democrats gave him cover. He was able to bring Nancy Pelosi's scheme to Virginia.

The Governor's yearbook

In explaining what will happen now, Carlson used the example of what ballot harvesting did to Orange County in CA. There are others.

Here are a few examples:

"In the 2018 House race in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, Republican Mark Harris initially appeared to have defeated Democrat Dan McCready by about 900 votes.

However, the North Carolina State Board of Elections didn’t certify the result because of evidence of a “coordinated, unlawful and substantially resourced absentee-ballot scheme.”

The state eventually called a new election. Republican Dan Bishop  won  the do-over election in September.

The Heritage report also notes that ballot harvesting was a concern in  Orange County, California , after a registrar of voters said individuals were “dropping off maybe 100 or 200 ballots” at a time.

Orange County traditionally has been a GOP stronghold in heavily Democrat California, so the flips there contributed to what became a blue wave in 2018.

“It is a dangerous and foolish public policy that threatens the integrity of elections,” the report says of ballot harvesting. “It should not be implemented by state legislatures—and should be prohibited in the states that currently allow it.”

https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/10/24/dangerous-and-foolish-how-legal-vote-harvesting-prompts-illegal-conduct-by-political-operatives/

In Virginia the democrats went all in. They brought home the whole pig!

Northam signed these bills:

House Bill 1  and  Senate Bill 111 , sponsored by House Majority Leader Charniele Herring and Senator Janet Howell, respectively, allow early voting 45 days prior to an election without a stated excuse. Virginia currently requires voters who wish to vote absentee to provide the state with a reason, from an approved list, why they are unable to vote on Election Day.

House Bill 19  and  Senate Bill 65 , sponsored by Delegate Joe Lindsey and Senator Mamie Locke, respectively, remove the requirement that voters show a photo ID prior to casting a ballot. Voter ID laws disenfranchise individuals who may not have access to photo identification and disproportionately impact low-income individuals, racial and ethnic minorities, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.

House Bill 108  and  Senate Bill 601 , sponsored by Delegate Joe Lindsey and Senator Louise Lucas, respectively, make Election Day a state holiday, which will help ensure every Virginian has the time and opportunity to cast their ballot. In order to maintain the same number of state holidays, this measure repeals the current Lee-Jackson Day holiday, established over 100 years ago to honor Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

House Bill 235  and  Senate Bill 219 , sponsored by Delegate Joshua Cole and Senator David Marsden, respectively, implement automatic voter registration for individuals accessing service at a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office or the DMV website.

House Bill 238  and  House Bill 239 , sponsored by Delegate Mark Sickles, and  Senate Bill 455 , sponsored by Senator Bryce Reeves, expand absentee voting timelines to ensure access to the polls.

House Bill 1678,  sponsored by Delegate Joe Lindsey, extends in-person polling hours from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

https://www.governor.virginia.gov/newsroom/all-releases/2020/april/headline-856055-en.html

These measures are clearly undemocratic and obviously invite voter fraud.

Former first lady, Michelle Obama is also pushing for it:

8e7cdae95c88dc7f2c18e554d4451e4a

"Former first lady Michelle Obama will back legislation to expand voting-by-mail as the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on how states hold primary elections across the country, according to a report on Monday."

https://nypost.com/2020/04/13/michelle-obama-set-to-back-mail-in-voting-legislation/

What this means is that democrats will have political operatives going out with hundreds of ballots and returning them without anyone knowing for sure the circumstances under which those ballots were filled out or by whom. This delivers Virginia the same fate as California and we can put it in the Biden column right now.

When your'e stuck with Joe Biden as your candidate, voter fraud may be the only way to win.

“Because I have to be in the White House, I won’t be able to go to Florida to vote,” but there is a difference between “somebody out of state and does a ballot and everything sealed, certified and everything else.”

Trump went on to defend his position further, saying “dishonesty” existed in mail-in voting.

“I think if you vote, you should go, and even the concept of early voting is not the greatest … You look at what they do where they grab thousands of mail-in ballots and they dump it. I’ll tell you what. I don’t have to tell you. You can look at the statistics. There is a lot of dishonesty going on with mail-in voting, mail-in ballots.”

The idea that you need photo id to verify the identity of a voter is laughable.  All you need is signature verification.  You sign your name when you register to vote, it is kept on file at your precinct, and when you vote, you sign in and the signature is matched to your registration signature. It works every bit as well as a photo.

Photo id is intended to jerk people around and disqualify as many people as possible.

And some republican governors seem to want to apply draconian laws.

I actually agree with almost all of these laws. What in the world would it hurt having early voting. Nothing. Though I will say 45 days seems like a little much. Maybe 30.

What does it hurt having people sign up to vote at the DMV. Nothing. One can do that in my state.

Nothing wrong with longer absentee voting as people may be over seas and want to participate.

I have always said election day should be a day off for everyone. Maybe more would vote.

The only thing I might agree with ya'll on would be a form of ID. Hell one has to carry ID at most times anyway. I am glad I have an license with the star in the corner.

And if you don't vote in person, there is no ID.  As far as mail in ballots are concerned, they must be filled out completely or they are invalid. If the person reading hem gets something wrong, they are invalid. If something changes within the 45 days since you voted, you can't change your vote.

Registering at the DMV should require proof of identity. Does your state do that?

I notice you didn't mention ballot harvesting?

Considering most people have a license it is usually proof enough.

I actually forgot to renew my license and I think there is only a month or so window. I had to have birth certificate, SS#, and a proof of residence, like a bill with name and address.

Funny thing was I gathered all those things and when I went there they didn't even ask for them. I guess the picture was enough. They also have a kiosk in there for renewal, yet most people do it online.

I know people absentee voting don't show ID yet they had to be registered for it. Even if someone else used it, which is illegal, it would be that one vote.

Contrary to popular belief, there is not really rampant voter fraud, and the voter fraud I have read about has been about equal from both sides.

As for Virginia and other gop losses:

Its telling that conservatives accuse dems of fraud (the usual projection) as soon as their candidates start losing because their voter suppression is addressed.  Because THEY can't win unless they cheat, so accuse others of doing what they do.  Very Trumpian.

Here in AZ I have been voting by mail for years.  I do like it. I don't see any issues with that, and TBH I can agree that this option should be allowed in all states. But it's a states issue that must be settled by each state because the states are responsible for all voting, even federal balloting.

In AZ we do show photo ID but that is to confirm that we are at the correct voting location and are correctly listed in the voter registration system. A workaround in AZ is to bring two pieces of mail addressed to yourself such as a power bill or a city water bill to prove you are in the city.  I have never seen any studies that show how many people just do not have a photo ID. I've heard stories but never any studies. But if states would expand the mail voting the photo id issue would go away.

IMO making Election Day a state holiday is a dumb idea. Not all businesses will follow all holidays.  I know my company doesn't follow all federal holidays much less state ones.  I have long been of the opinion that a Tuesday election day should be gotten rid of as the reasoning behind it is long since gone. Rather I would like voting to be held on a Friday & Saturday.  That would allow for many more people to be able to get to the polls without missing work and having to fight a boss who won't be reasoned with. Yes it costs the states more money to have it over two days but I think that's a small price to improve the system.

I don't like ballot harvesting because I think the opportunity for abuse is too great. It's one thing if it is limited to only family or people living in the same home, but absolutely no way do I agree with allowing activists to be allowed to show up with hundreds of ballots. What CA did was wrong IMO and should not be allowed.

Bottom line, every voters bona fides needs to be verified.

How that is done is really irrelevant as long as it gets done by any accurate method.    Anything less encourages voter fraud.    No question about it.

Absentee ballots require ID verification.    Can’t get one in my state without it.

In AZ you can register to vote while on the MVD site. After completing your interaction on MVD the system will automatically ask if you want to register to vote. As you have already identified thru the MVD system I guess that qualifies as verification.  You cannot just call up and request an absentee ballot, that is true.

Anyone can get an absentee ballot in Michigan but ID verification is required.

The bedrock of any viable election system.    Verifying voter bona fides.
