Located in Luanchuan County under Luoyang city in central China's Henan Province, Laojun Mountain is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the province. As part of an extension of the Qinling Mountain Range which divides China into North and South, Laojun Mountain is known for its cultural heritage of Taoism as it was once the retreat of Laozi, a great Chinese philosopher and the founder of Taoism. Although I visisted Luoyang about 4 or 5 times more than 10 years ago, where I saw many amazing tourist sites and festivals, I did miss this one, and wish I had known about it.

You're right, an earthquake would topple those temples.  However, in all the time I've been here, the only earthquakes have been in Sichuan Province and thereabouts, which is quite a bit farther south

If there was an earthquake Humpy Lao-tzu would fall, all of King Xi's men couldn't put it back together again.

Amazing pictures, Buzz, thanks for sharing.

You're welcome MM.  There's lots more where they came from.  And by the way, that should have been "All of Xi's horses and all of Xi's men couldn't put Lao-tzu back together again."  LOL
