MOVIES & TV - CLASSIC to CURRENT

A political/psychological thriller , Zero Day is a six part Netflix limited series about a domestic terrorist attack on the United States, and the investigation to discover who was behind it.

I watched all of it over the weekend,  and it is a wild ride,  not necessarily a great movie or great television, but it has a lot to say, with very specific commentary, via the main character played by Robert De Niro, about a spectrum of issues that currently distress the US, particular, out of control billionaires, toxic media, political duplicity, the limits of constitutional authority, families divided by politics, cyber hacking, and lack of faith in government itself.  There are veiled suggestions that people like Trump and Musk could destroy the country, although the specifics of the conspiracy do not correspond to any real people.

Has anyone seen or intending to watch this ?

Seemingly a passion project by DeNiro,  the show has a lot to say about America today, although sometimes at the expense of a taut plot.

A lot of Netflix stuff suffers from that.

I watched it this weekend. It was really good. I think I will re-watch it to make sure I didn't miss anything.

At first I thought DeNiro was going to be the bad guy. The plot twist was worthy of M. Night Shamaylan

We (wife and I) have watched half.

Haven't decided if it's good or not. Actors are good, but the plot line is... kinda confused.

Binged watched it yesterday. I'm have never been a big DeNiro fan because his heyday was when I was pretty young, so really didn';t pay too much attention, but this movie was really good and he played the role of exp president pretty well.

Only critique is he played an ex president that always had bipartisan support while he was in office and was pretty much respected by all, but in real life, he is kinda a loon who thinks insulting a certain group of people are going to get them to remain/become fans of his. His rants are usually pretty funny, though.

The black female President is an interesting choice.  Like that will ever happen.

Americans have already indicated that they won't put ANY woman into the Oval Office.  Quite a few nations have voted females to lead their nations, and many have excelled with that position.

What a stupid comment. Americans haven’t indicated anything of the sort. Clinton and cackles are not the only women in the US.

I stand corrected.  I thought Clinton and Harris were the only ones who were actual candidates for the position.  I never knew there was a candidate named cackles.

A Donald Trump -supporting Colorado rancher ripped the president as “arrogant” and “kind of a jerk” and suggested he was going “overboard” during his first few weeks back in the White House.

But David Hayes then confessed — in an interview with CNN ’s John King that aired Monday — that he’d still vote for Trump again over his 2024 Democratic rival Kamala Harris .
