Guess the Country
Eleven NT members tried the previous geography test, let's see if all of you, and more, will be able to answer this one. The biggest difference from the 1st one is that there is no alphabetical list of answers, so you will have to come up with them yourself. Some will be really easy, some will be harder and a test of your general knowledge, so it is more of a test than the game the last one was.
This time the clues could be a structure, an item, a custom, tradition or symbol that the country is known for.
Send your answers in a PN to me, Buzz of the Orient, and I will send you a PN with your score and any corrections. If you do not get an answer within 24 hours there may have been a glitch in the NT system, so get back to me again.
Last time I had some trouble with this but this time I will show no mercy. Do not put your answers in a comment here, nor should you post any kind of hint, since it will ruin this game for everyone else, and I will delete it immediately.
This game will close and the winners' circle will be announced Monday evening March 24th at 10 p.m. New York City time.
Please provide your answers with the same numbers as the questions.

Here we go again. I've posted a new geography quiz so I'm a Man of my Word. Now, here's your chance to show you're a Man of the World, or a Woman of the World.
Take a little trip around the world without leaving home
Yes, exactly.
You never know who or what you'll find when you take a trip around the world.

(Vic, there are places mentioned in that song)

This one is fun, too. My submission is on the way.

What's the problem with the number 10???
Once again, I've got them all...except that goddam number TEN!
I never received your answers - please send them in a PN to me. 5 others have already participated.
Morning...I would help with a clue but I would probably get yelled at..
Me too, lol. I thought it was a trick question/clue.
No came to me straight off, but got a bit stuck on the mouse bait one, then it dawned on me..
Yes, you WOULD have been yelled at...
Nope, no trick question/clue.
Mouse bait one? Please send me a PN about what you mean."
That one was actually easy to figure out what was meant. No PN needed here.
Will be submitting shortly.
I finally realized what that expression meant.
Morning...that's what we call it here along with chooks, sangas etc...
We are very good at confusing people... Devangy can supply an Aussie translator list..

Tacos!, Bob Nelson and Freefaller all got Second Place scores of 19, while Waykwabu came in for Third Place with a score of 15. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who played.
The biggest problem appeared to be number 10, the iconic The Lone Pine located along California's coastal 17 Mile Drive. It is something I will never forget, because when I took my family on a road trip down the California coast from the Muir Woods north of San Francisco to Long Beach south of Los Angeles around 35 years ago we stopped at The Lone Pine and walked over to see and photograph it, and I inadvertantly locked the keys in the rental car. We had to wait a long time for a State Trooper to get the door open for us.
For those who didn't take the quiz, here are the answers that they can compare with the clues and see how much fun it is to play.
1 Spain - flamenco dancers
2 Scotland - Loch Ness monster
3 India - Taj Mahal
4 China - The Great Wall
5 Cuba - Habanos Cigars
6 Italy - Chianti
7 Saudi Arabia - Haj pilgimage to Mecca
8 Brazil - Brazil nuts
9 Iran - Persian rugs (The Persian Empire included many present countries and I accepted them all as okay)
10 USA - The Lone Pine
11 Australia - Vegemite
12 Canada - poutine
13 New Zealand - Kiwi bird
14 Japan - samurai sword
15 Russia - sputnik
16 Switzerland - Swiss cheese
17 France - Notre Dame Cathedral
18 The Netherlands (or Holland) - windmills
19 England - Stonehenge
20 Ireland - a 4-leaf clover
I will be posting the last of the Geography quizzes soon - it will be a little more challenging.
