Marjorie Taylor Greene posts image of herself with gun alongside 'Squad' congresswomen, encourages going on the 'offense against these socialists'
Republican congressional candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene on Thursday posted on her candidate Facebook page an image of herself holding a gun alongside images of Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib and encouraged going on the "offense against these socialists." "We need strong conservative Christians to go on the offense against these socialists who want to rip our country apart," her post's caption read.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, extremist Republican candidate for Congress, has the full support and backing of Donald J. Trump and Kevin McCarthy.

This incitement to violence against members of Congress is an outrage, whether you agree with their politics or not.

Republican congressional candidate   Marjorie Taylor Greene   on Thursday posted on her candidate Facebook page an image of herself holding a gun alongside images of Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib and encouraged going on the "offense against these socialists."

"We need strong conservative Christians to go on the offense against these socialists who want to rip our country apart," her post's caption read.

As of midday Friday, Facebook   removed   the photo, saying it violated the social network's policies.

The Georgia Republican, who has the   support   of President Donald Trump, has previously embraced the QAnon conspiracy theory and has a history of Islamophobic and bigoted remarks on social media. Greene is poised to be elected to Congress this fall after winning the Republican primary in a solidly Republican Georgia district.

Earlier Friday, Omar, who along with Tlaib is Muslim, said Greene's now-deleted photo was "incitement" and demanded Facebook remove the "violent provocation."

"Posting a photo with an assault rifle next to the faces of three women of color is not advertising. It's incitement," the Minnesota Democrat posted on   Twitter.   "There are already death threats in response to this post. Facebook should remove this violent provocation."

Greene's campaign told CNN in an emailed statement that those who think the picture incites violence "are paranoid and ridiculous."

CNN reached out to the campaign Friday afternoon after Facebook removed the image.

Greene, who's running to represent Georgia's 14th congressional district, has railed against the three progressive Democratic congresswomen, who along with Rep. Ayanna Pressley call themselves the " Squad ."

"Hate America leftists want to take this country down," Greene wrote in her Facebook post, which was her second one targeting the congresswomen in recent days. "Politicians have failed this country. I'm tired of seeing weak, Establishment Republicans play defense. Our country is on the line. America needs fighters who speak the truth."

Last year, the four Democratic congresswomen -- Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Pressley and Tlaib -- were the target of a   controversial North Carolina billboard   for a gun store. The sign faced backlash for being seen as inciting violence and was removed.

Politico   reported that Greene previously wrote on social media that Muslims do not belong in government and that there is "an Islamic invasion into our government offices," among other incendiary remarks.

CNN's KFile reported   that Greene wrote two conspiracy-laden blog posts speculating that the 2017 white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that led to one counter-protester's death was an "inside job" and promoting the debunked "Pizzagate" conspiracy theory that alleges some Democratic leaders are running a human-trafficking and pedophilia ring as real.

Greene told  Fox News last month  following her primary win that while she once read and discussed QAnon topics, she has decided to "choose another path" after encountering "misinformation."

Ooooh ... she posed with a gun.  How awful.

Doesn't she know she should be vandalizing and burning city blocks like civilized people?  These right-wing white nationalists are just too stupid to know how to behave.

Don't worry, President Joe will fix everything.  Democrats didn't know that violence ain't protesting until Joe told them.  Now that Joe has cleared that up, everything will be back in order.

President Joe just needs to give this right-winger a good talkin' to.

Wouldn't be surprising.  The only thing someone need do to receive death threats is wear a MAGA hat.

But President Joe will change all that.  Joe's a compromiser, isn't he?

She hasn't?  Just because Democrats spew different radical hate-filled rhetoric and pose with different weapons doesn't make it more acceptable.

Joe Biden delivered scripted speech denouncing violence as not being protest.  Biden called for us to set aside our differences and stop focusing attention on what divides us.  And Biden ended his dutiful, beautiful speech by quoting Pope Francis.  What a uniter.

Greene's Facebook post is deplorable.

Is it because she is holding a gun?  Is it because she is calling for conservative Christians to go on the offensive?  Or is it because she is a Republican?  What makes Marjorie Greene's post deplorable?

You didn't answer my question, you just deflected.

Of course I did.  Just because you ignore (or endorse) Ilhan Omar's political behavior doesn't mean others don't take notice.  Ilhan Omar's style of politics isn't that different than Marjorie Greene's.

Greene is setting up Democrats to demonstrate that they discriminate against people who own guns (discriminate against law and order) and discriminate against Christians (especially conservative Christians).  Greene's Facebook post only works with the participation of Democrats.  And Democrats have willingly obliged.

Guns, law & order, and protestant religion are to conservative Republicans what racism, xenophobia, and sexism are to liberal Democrats.  Democrats will twist facts into falsehoods to fit their liberal dog whistles (Ilhan Omar is an example).  Why are you surprised that conservative Republicans do the same thing?

Non sequitur.

Joe Biden is a non sequitur?  Haven't you noticed that Biden includes his Catholic faith in his political speeches? Isn't that unusual for a Democrat, particularly one claiming to be liberal?

Hispanic/Latino immigrants have swelled the ranks of the Catholic denomination in the United States.  The Hispanic/Latino population is the largest minority block; far surpassing the size of the Black minority block.  Biden is telling the Hispanic/Latino population that he is one of them.

Joe Biden is practicing the same type of politics as Marjorie Greene.  Biden doesn't 'feel their pain'; Biden is one of them and knows their pain.  President Joe won't be another term for Barack Obama and, apparently, liberals don't recognize that.

Threats of violence kinda sorta make collaboration difficult. Trust is impossible. Democracy means accepting defeat.

Perhaps Democracy does mean accepting defeat.  Are you prepared for that?

For a long time Bill Clinton was hailed as the first Black President.  Joe Biden is laying the groundwork to become the first Hispanic President.  Are you prepared for that?

Hispanic immigrants have integrated themselves into rural areas which has become a Republican stronghold.  A pathway to citizenship opens rural areas for Democratic Party competitiveness; an opportunity for the Democratic Party to become a national party rather than an urban party.  Haven't you noticed that Biden's plans and promises have included rural parts of the country?  That's not an appeal to Republicans, that's an appeal to the Hispanic population.  And Biden really has been highlighting his Catholic faith to foster acceptance as being one of them.

The Black population has concentrated into urban areas which doesn't help the Democratic Party in large parts of the country.  Establishing a reliable Hispanic voting block that is spread across rural areas means the Democratic Party could give up half the Black vote and still be able to win elections.  The Black population has become political baggage.

Democracy means the largest numbers win.  And the Hispanic/Latino population is far larger than the Black population.  Democracy means accepting being defeated by the larger numbers.  Are you prepared for that?

What should she hold?  A brick?

Liberals have turned gun owners into victims.  Liberals and turned conservative Christians into victims.  Liberals have turned conservatives into victims.  Liberals have threatened gun owners, Christians, and conservatives with undemocratic authoritarian restrictions, limitations, and prohibitions enforced by government.  Liberals have threatened to use government gunslingers against gun owners, Christians, and conservatives.

Marjorie Greene is using the same victim politics that liberals use.  Greene didn't threaten to kill anyone.  Greene chose a message that would attract threats from liberals and prove her point.  It worked.
