AOC slams Biden for reopening migrant facilities in Texas

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed the Biden administration on Tuesday for reopening a Texas facility to hold migrant children.
The Bronx Democrat was reacting to a report that the emergency facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas was being reopened to hold up to 700 children ages 13 to 17.
"This is not okay, never has been okay, never will be okay — no matter the administration or party," she tweeted.
"It's only 2 mos into this admin & our fraught, unjust immigration system will not transform in that time. That's why bold reimagination is so impt."
In a separate tweet, referring to the Department of Homeland Security, Ocasio-Cortez said, "DHS shouldn't exist, agencies should be reorganized, ICE gotta go, ban for-profit detention, create climate refugee status & more."
The reopening at Texas and Homestead, Florida is crucial because space was limited in other facilities for undocumented children so they could social distance during the pandemic, according to The Washington Post.
Mark Weber, a Department of Health and Human Services spokesman, told the outlet that putting minors in permanent centers is ideal, but for now, they would have to stay in the influx shelters like Carrizo and Homestead.

Biden opened the gates and has invited the hordes to come and apply, making them our responsibility.
Where does this brainless twit expect these kids to be housed and fed? And yes, there are bars on the windows.
It's the same facility that was used in the Trump Administration but now MSM and the Biden Administration have given it "more humane" names:
So many people want to complain about the plight of these people, the way we receive them, house them, and process them. But they never have a better idea for what we are supposed to do with them.
They want to blame American government for the problem, but we didn't put a gun to their heads and say,"Ignore US immigration rules. Just rush the border or sneak across and dare us to do something about it. Push unaccompanied minors across the border and expect America to figure it out before lunch."
AOC seems to think we should be able to instantly verify the identify of every human being who approaches the border and then set them up with full room, board, and services in the good part of some quaint little town - or maybe just a chic apartment in Manhattan.
There's no rational thought behind these complaints and there sure as hell is no better alternative proposed.
If birth rates stay similar to what they are now, the US will become a majority Latino/hispanic country some day. Will that be the end of the world?
It is more important that newcomers agree that they support American ideals and laws , and the constitution , than it is to worry about the raw numbers of who is here on an ethnic basis.

The economy of the State of California is the largest in the United States, boasting a $3.2 trillion gross state product as of 2019. If California were a sovereign nation, it would rank as the world's fifth largest economy, ahead of India and behind Germany.
We should have a national policy of a closed border and require everyone to enter legally . There should be comprehensive immigration reform. But by the same token it is not something to set our national hair on fire over.
We have immigration laws, and people are already required to come here legally.
Seems like some start whining when we actually bother to enforce these laws.
Why, because some folks think it is somehow too hard to come here now?

I'm open to the idea that maybe it is too hard. The current wait just to have your Green Card application reviewed if you are applying to immigrate from Mexico is 22 years. That's kind of ridiculous.
But that means we should consider adjusting the system, not ignoring the rules.
AOC, what is your solution to housing unaccompanied minors crossing the border illegally?
yeah, it's a real bummer that the oath keepers failed in their insurrectionist goals on 1/6/21 and the 4th reich remained displaced by the voters. I guess that must have interrupted the white supremacist plan to wait for most of those brown kids to reach age 18, so that they could be deported and turned into even bigger victims of republican xenophobia.
