Kamala Harris' niece blasted for tweet assuming Colorado shooter was White man: 'This is WILD'
Vice President Kamala Harris's niece said Tuesday she assumed the suspected mass shooter in Colorado was a White man in part because he was taken into custody alive, leading to accusations she engaged in racial profiling.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Vice President Kamala Harris' niece said Tuesday she assumed the suspected mass shooter in Colorado was a White man in part because he was taken into custody alive, leading to accusations she engaged in racial profiling.

Meena Harrris was forced to delete a tweet erroneously assuming the race of the suspected killer of 10 people in a Boulder grocery store, after it was revealed he was of Syrian descent.

"The Atlanta shooting was not even a week ago. Violent white men are the greatest terrorist threat to our country," Meena Harris tweeted on Monday.

Now that 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa is in custody for the shooting, Harris admitted her assumption was based on him "being taken into custody alive and the fact that the majority of mass shootings in the U.S. are carried out by white men."

Alissa was born in Syria but has lived in the United States most of his life, according to reports. He was injured during the shooting before being arrested. One of the 10 killed in the massacre was a policeman, Officer Eric Talley.

Harris received sharp criticism for her racially charged jump to conclusion.

A children's book author and prominent surrogate for her aunt during the 2020 campaign, Harris has received favorable media attention. She earned a glowing New York Times profile in January for her "empire" of "statement T-shirts," and she recently penned a Washington Post op-ed praising the cancellation of several Dr. Seuss books.

The suspected perpetrator of last week's rash of Atlanta-area shootings that killed eight people was a White man.

Harris wasn't the only person to assume the Boulder suspect was White.

Deadspin editor Julie DiCaro wrote she was "extremely tired of people's lives depending on whether a white man with an AR-15 is having a good day or not," to which USA Today race and inclusion editor Hemal Jhaveri wrote, "it's always an angry white man. always."

First off, I would wait for facts to come out, as I did. Others here ran with the story.

To answer your question, I would describe him as a Muslim American with a criminal record & serious mental issues that never should have had a gun. I would also note that the FBI knew about him and didn't do much about him. Final thought - what about parents and/or family? Nobody saw this coming?

That is what happens when guns laws that are on the books are never enforced.

Laws have no teeth when the penalties are dropped from sentencing in order to get a plea deal; or get a favorable judgement.

So putting more in place won't do one damn bit of good. Criminals will still get guns and use them. The only ones that would obey the law are law abiding gun owners; who aren't the cause of these mass killings anyways.

Also, maybe if they allow Federal, State, and local law enforcement and intelligence agencies to share information on persons of interest it might also help preventing those that shouldn't have guns from getting them.

Hence why I automatically assume a white make is the perp, cuz when it’s not at least there is a surprise. These things have really become so mundane that we need a little something to spice them up.

The easiest way to become white in this country is to commit an attention grabbing crime. The New York Times will create a new category for you, the "White Hispanic."  Now a Syrian born Muslim named "Al Aliwi Alissa" has been transformed into a white man.

Of course, if a white man named John Smith opened fire on a room full of people similar to Al Aliwi Alissa, the victims would no longer be white.

I did not write the textbook on profiling likely mass murderers who tend to be white males.

There are plenty of stereotypes about minorities. But somehow that would be racist, wouldn’t it?

I am a white male loner who owns an AR-15. Have yet to fulfill my potential as a serial killer or crowd shooter. Dad always said that I was an underachiever.

Maybe if you watched more porn, listened to more heavy metal music, or read more comic books.

On second thought, I just described all of my hobbies, and I’ve never killed anyone either.

The New York Times will create a new category for you, the "White Hispanic."

The NYT has NOTHING to do with it. From the US Census:

Definition

White alone, not Hispanic or Latino are individuals who responded "No, not Spanish/Hispanic/Latino" and who reported "White" as their only entry in the race question.

Let's see if you can connect the dots...

Now a Syrian born Muslim named "Al Aliwi Alissa" has been transformed into a white man.

Caucasians include those from western Asia. Syria is in western Asia. Colloquially, Caucasians are WHITE.

The NYT has NOTHING to do with i:

"White Hispanic was almost never used by the Times before George Zimmerman.  But as Eric Wemple wrote in  the Post. "I guarantee you that if George Zimmerman did something good — if he finished first in his high school graduating class when he was younger — they wouldn’t refer to him as a white Hispanic, he’d just be a Hispanic. . . . He’s only a ‘white Hispanic’ because they need the word ‘white’ to further the story line, which is, White, probably racist vigilante shoots an unarmed black kid."

Colloquially, Caucasians are WHITE.

I don't think you know what the word "colloquially" means.   Muslim born Syrians are not "colloquially" called white.  Which is why if a white man named John Smith had shot and killed the family of Mr. Alissa and his family  you'd be calling Mr. Smith a racist terrorist.

Who cares about Eric Wemple's opinion?

I don't think you know what the word "colloquially" means.

You're wrong.

Muslim born Syrians are not "colloquially" called white.

AGAIN, Syrians are Caucasians and colloquially, Caucasians are WHITE.

BTFW, a Syrian's religion is irrelevant,

Which is why if a white man named John Smith had shot and killed the family of Mr. Alissa and his family  you'd be calling Mr. Smith a racist terrorist.

Wrong again Sean.

Meanwhile this guy just walked into an Atlanta Publix restroom openly carrying a rifle, and apparently five other guns and body armor.  I’ll admit I was a little surprised when I saw his photo.  Police nabbed him as he walked out of the restroom and surprisingly he isn’t dead now, but he must have a death wish.
