'QAnon Shaman' Jacob Chansley sentenced to 41 months in prison for role in US Capitol riot
Jacob Chansley, the so-called "QAnon Shaman," was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the US Capitol riot.
3 1/2 years. I hope that display he put on inside the Senate chamber was worth it.
Prosecutors initially asked for a 54 month sentence. I see he was given the same sentence as Scott Fairlamb (the MMA fighter). I always thought that Fairlamb should have gotten a larger sentence as he actually attacked a Capital policeman. All this guy did was be visible and be an ass. IMO the two being given the same sentence is not right.
I agree. insurrectionists need to be stood up in front of a wall.
That's not what I said and I would never agree to a death sentence.
Secular progressive elites should get what you said insurrectionists should vet.
So we should be shot why XX?
It is not a legitimate sentence. It needs to be repealed and reduced by about 75%. It was a gross miscarriage of Justice in this case.
He should have earned a life sentence for his treason.

He was with a group of people that attempted to overthrow our duly elected government. Sentence needs to be increased as a warning to anyone in the future that feels the urge to overthrow the government.
Everyone there illegally should be given jail time, some more, some less, but all some time locked up.
He plead GUILTY Xx.
The shithead wanted to be so visible that day - you've earned your 3-1/2 years in jail dipshit!
Why is he getting so much time while others are getting only days in jail?
Not that he doesn't deserve it
I think it's because he became one of the 'faces' of all that ugliness - someone that really stood out (and made sure he stood out) that has been recognized and should be punished harshly.
I think the ones who assaulted those cops should get the harshest/longest sentences though.
I agree with you that those who assaulted cops there should have gotten that long or more.

Holy cow! Before this I never imagined that you could say something I could agree with, yet you have. I'll have to reevaluate the likelihood of unicorns existing. I completely agree that his sentence was not due to anything he actually did but, rather, for political purposes. He did no violence. Assaulted no one. Committed no vandalism. He is guilty of being a trespassing doofus and that's about it, yet he got over three years in prison. Politics, not justice, was served here.
I also agree that those who assaulted cops should have gotten the harshest sentences.

Where the hell did I say any of these things and what the hell are you talking about and what makes you think I give a shit about what you think?
Another bullshit claim about this fat little pig and killer Rittenhouse - that he was trespassing FFS. Unfreakingbelievable.
"I agree with you that those who assaulted cops there should have gotten that long or more"
I don't care what you think about anything.
I didn't want you to be under the impression that I give a damn about anything you say.
Matt Gaetz said his office is open to hiring Kyle Rittenhouse as a congressional intern if he's 'interested in helping the country in additional ways'
Like I've been saying, Kyle is a fine young republican in training. He's already got killer on his resume.

You appear to be confused as to the subject of the thread. Jacob Chansley's prison sentence, not Rittenhouse.
Each defendant is charged with separate charges for different individual planned or spontaneous actions. Cooperation and sincere contrition are also factors.
I think it falls under the category of making a political example. I personally think he deserved more, but that's just me.
I really dislike the idea of sending someone to prison to make a political example of him or her. Smacks too much of the Soviet Union or East Germany back in the day.
However, he did trespass. I don't know if he committed vandalism
Or North Korea. I agree, he definitely was where he had zero business being and was guilty of criminal trespass and vandalism and has to suffer the consequences of his acts.
What crime did he commit?
... I'm guessing those crimes that he was sentenced to serve time for.
Write him in jail and ask him what he plead guilty to Greg.
And you are still trolling. Everybody knows his crimes.
Prison isn't going to be like mom's basement. Welcome to the real world asshole.
kinda doubt he will have his special naturalist diet either .......
do stupid things , win stupid prizes comes to mind .
he's going to get the prison high protein diet, daily.
He already has had it his whole time in jail...........
Hehehehehe, yeah i got a kick out of that , and that was while he was held pending trial , doesnt meed the fed pokey will. so maybe he will try another hunger strike ...
[deleted]
yeah, I reed a lot.
good catch
[deleted]
Oh yeah, if he doesn't get organic foods, his mommy says he gets a tummy ache.
[deleted]
Not sure there is a higher degree actually
You guys are just jealous that you didn't think of it first
Ummmm no. Brain doesn't go that far into the gutter most days.
[deleted]
Jizz. Now see what you made me cum to?
see?
Your mind is as deep in the gutter as you say Dev's is. The thing is...he admits to it
Mine only comes on the scene when provoked or needed. Some people's seems to be on the tip of their tongue constantly just ready to go on a nanosecond's notice.
see?
I cannot think of a single, non-organic, thing that we do eat. Basically if it is edible, it is organic.
Mr. Chansley will undoubtedly have many a donation to his commissary account. He'll be eating a lot of rice and beans for the next 3.5 years...
I'd be willing to do a jail stay if I could get a judge to rule that I can only eat shellfish. Crab, lobster, shrimp......
You mean like the gulag that is the DC jail for these suspects?
Traitors get what they get.

Until they receive a fair trial in a court of law, and are convicted by said court, rather than the court of opinion prevailing here, they are in fact accused "suspects" only, whether you like it or not.
They're exactly where they belong until trial, whether you like it or not .
Nice attempt at deflection. Did I state anywhere that he was not where he was supposed to be? The answer to that is no.
It is easier for some to invent things you didn't say and argue that instead of what you really posted.
No attempt at deflection, how is that an attempt at deflection? It's not.
Like I said, those domestic terrorists are in jail, where they belong, until trial, whether you like it or not. They're not suspects of domestic terrorism, they're trumpturd's incited domestic terrorist mob, whether you like it or not.
See how one of the members of my fan club (at 4.2.6) follows me around and hangs on every word I say.
I'm so not flattered.
Like your buddies, you may have the last word, for now.
Yep.
For now.
“I was wrong for entering the Capitol, I have no excuse whatsoever,” Mr. Chansley said in a half-hour speech in which he referenced Gandhi and the film “Shawshank Redemption,” touching on his father’s suicide, his tattoos, and his distrust of the media. “I am in no way or shape a dangerous criminal. I am a good man who broke the law,” said Mr. Chansley, who was the first person to be indicted in connection with the riot.
I believe Jacob Chansley is mentally ill.

duh. 99% of the Q nuts deserves a lobotomy and a long sleeved canvas jacket.
Is that what Vic said? If the man is mentally ill he should be locked in an asylum for the next 20 years or so doped up on Haldol that he won't be able to put his stupid costume on
I believe is is an asshole and deserve every second in prison.
Yet Judge Lamberth compared Chansley’s statement to “something Martin Luther King Jr” would have said.
Go figure.
Good! People who engage in such riots and threats to people, police officers and government property are breaking the law and should be held accountable to the full extent of the law.
people that are guilty of an attempt to obstruct the constitutional mandate of election certification by a joint session of congress for the peaceful transfer of power deserve at least a minimum of 20 years in a federal institution and a hefty fine.
Indeed, he got off easy.
I think he belongs in a straight jacket in a padded cell.
