President Joe Biden is building a $490,000 taxpayer-funded security fence around his Delaware beach house.

The Department of Homeland Security awarded a company $456,548 to install the fence in September of last year, according to USAspending.gov. Since the original payment, costs have crept up to $490,324.

"Due to the need to maintain operational security, the U.S. Secret Service does not comment on the means, methods or resources used to conduct our protective operations," the Secret Service told Fox News when reached for comment regarding the construction.

According to USAspending.gov, there have been two additional payments on top of the original $456,548 that led to the current total. A payment of $6,844 was made on Nov. 30, for "SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR WORK WITHIN SCOPE," specifically the installation of three "6X6 GRAVEL PADS AND CRANE SERVICES." The latest payment was made on June 8, to the total of $26,933, for "ADDITIONAL WORK."

The anticipated end date for the construction is given as June 6, 2023.

Biden is expected to head back to the $2.7 million Delaware beach house on Saturday, Fox News reported.

Even if there weren't violence prone MAGA crazies threatening Biden's life, the secret service would have insisted on higher security levels. This is the secret service doing their job just as they do for every president.

Well they are definitely building up a wall around Biden's beach house.

They are also closing gaps in the border wall in AZ. Wonder why? Couldn't have anything to do with aiding Kelly who is running for reelection at midterms. Nah. Biden/Kelly can't be that damn shallow./S

The Biden administration said Thursday it had authorized US Customs and Border Protection to close gaps in a border wall in Arizona near the Morelos Dam in order to protect migrants from drowning and sustaining injuries while trying to cross the Colorado River into the United States.

The Yuma Morelos Dam Project will close four gaps located within an “incomplete border barrier project” near the dam, the Department of Homeland Security said in a news release. In addition to posing “safety and life hazard risks for migrants,” the department said the gaps in the wall presented “life and safety” risks to first responders in the area.

Upon taking office, President Joe Biden called for a review of ongoing border wall projects and rescinded the national emergency declaration authorized by his predecessor that allowed then-President Donald Trump to dip into additional funds to build his signature border wall.

The Biden administration has canceled several border wall contracts and has also been returning some property to landowners who spent years fighting land seizures in court.

But DHS said in December it planned to close small gaps in the US-Mexico border wall and make adjustments to prevent flooding and complete prior construction of access roads.

Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, who is facing a tough reelection this fall, praised the decision to close the wall gaps. He said in a statement that he first pressed the President to approve the gap closures in December and has had “numerous calls” with the White House and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The only time Democrats support building things is when they are up for reelection.

I agree that there is a need for fences and walls in Texas, to keep Texans within. When anger, hate, racism become core values rot sets in, and everything is thereafter tainted with that stain.

Borders should be safe, protected, supervised by thoughtful policies and not vigilantes. As a nation, we have moved on from the "Wild West," shootin' up, cowboys, the Dalton Gang is back.

Humanity and justice are not that dissimilar. Hate & Aggression are partners!

Concern for human beings is not a Liberal concept. It is a human one.

Perhaps, but this new Right-Wing, Conservative Republican Party has made it the main course and the only course of action...vengeance, chaos, upheaval is the result of Emotional Appeal vs Intellectual Analysis.

A world power should never be ruled by their enflamed emotions, nor leaders who only offer up emotions, instead of sensible policies.

Our conflict is between "ranting bullies, street thugs" driven by greedy, self-serving leader's vs sensible, sober, thoughtful ones, who think first before "flying off the handle" to gin up their base.

As voters, we have an obligation to think, analyze the data, the issues rather than be manipulated by our emotions from those who only concern is themselves.

Beware of the "Silver Tongue" those drools.

Which is the reason we have the BP. How is just the BP by themselves working out on the border?

Only Democrats and leftists consider it a success right now. Except for NYC and DC; who are finally getting very small dose of the issues that southern states face. With no help from the federal government for any of them. Don't expect the busloads of illegals to stop two those two Democrat bastions of stupidity until Biden finally does his damn job by securing the southern border and enforcing US immigration laws.

How about we forget the wall around Biden's houses; and have secret services catch and release anyone trying to enter w/o arrests or charges to set up shop wherever they want on Biden's property?

A comprehensible, well thought out plan to solve an extremely complex problem that has befuddled administrations from the moment of creation of this nation is a sound approach.

We are not a nation of heathens, pre-programed to attack every stray that ventures across our borders.

Some have legitimate causes that must be addressed. This "Cowboy" mentality too often gets in the way of reasonable debate.

Governments are not ruled by barroom banter. Nor should we elect folks based on how loud they bellow.

It is time we toned down rhetoric and focus on electing individuals who are capable of making good decisions vs those who rely on "explosive theatrics."

This is not a wrestling match, or a TV Reality Show!

Does every article need to tell you whether it is satire or not?

On articles which are obviously satire, you manage to say they aren't satire, and on real news articles, you think it is satire.

I am hoping this may help you with your dilemma:

sat·ire
[ˈsaˌtī(ə)r]
NOUN
  1. the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues:
"the crude satire seems to be directed at the fashionable protest singers of the time"
    synonyms:
    mockery · ridicule · derision · scorn · caricature · irony · sarcasm
    • a play, novel, film, or other work which uses satire:
"a stinging satire on American politics"
      synonyms:
      parody · burlesque · caricature · lampoon · skit · takeoff · squib · travesty · pasquinade · pasticcio
    • a genre of literature characterized by the use of satire:
"a number of articles on Elizabethan satire"
    • (in Latin literature) a literary miscellany, especially a poem ridiculing prevalent vices or follies.

Only someone who is lying pretends they don't know what a 'nothingberder' is - a word coined by that dumb piece of shit #45.

That isn't what YOU wrote, though, now is it?

Here is what YOU wrote:

When ya got nothing, as usual, like an actual answer over something that isn't even an issue in the first place, like security at one of his residences, like would happen for any other president. The usual noting berder for those with CDS and HBDS

So explain what your 'noting berder' is, or you will be guilty of what you accuse others of--lying.

When anybody, from any side, feels resorting to cut-and-pasting a definition helps justify a position is simply silly… just express an opinion and let it stand accordingly.

We all know the definitions…the defining of intent when applying those words seems to be the problem we face.

Well, now I see what the problem here is.

You think I was justifying some position instead of giving someone who needs it a definition of a word.

Okay, WHAT position is it you think I am justifying here?

We all know the definitions…the defining of intent when using those words seems to be the unusual problem.

When someone has to ask if something is satire (multiple times despite getting answered) and insists that satire isn't satire, then, no, obviously they do not know what the word means.

“then, no, obviously they do not know what the word means.”

Have we not grown to the point where we no longer have to debate the definition of what ‘is’ is? The semantics of every single word is up for debate? If that the case, the incumbent illiteracy will doom us to recumbent redundancy.

It is a simple equation…use one’s words sparingly, and always in context…knowing they may not change minds but are unfailingly uttered in conviction. And therein lies our shared vacuum of leadership.

Apparently not, or people wouldn't be asking if a legitimate news article is satire. There is no debate about what the word 'satire' means here.

The reason for posting the definition was to educate.

The fact is, DHS/SS spend millions on protectees.

Millions more were spent on Trump's myriad of properties whenever he 'visited', especially Trump tower in NY [$130,000 a MONTH until Trump raised the rent to 180,000] Mar-a-logo in the winter and Bedminster in the summer.

Who gives a fuck if it is a wall or a fence. The end result is the same....to keep people out, but we may be in luck and Biden may not know how to get out of his compound and stay there for the rest of his term.

The border wall is essentially a fence, but because the word wall is a leftist trigger word, that is the word they use to describe it because it is much more scaaaaaaaarrrrrryyyyyy than the word fence.

Well, I guess 18 months to figure it out is better than not at all, but 45 is on all of your minds 24/7 all the way up to today.

Yes, and THAT is why they call Biden the 46th President.

The next President will be the 47th.

Did Trump once say "Fences do not work"? If so please show us the quote.

Biden and the Democrats have repeatedly claimed they don't as they fenced in the capital; their houses, vacation houses, and everywhere else they go.

When a segment of our country is so unpatriotic, and under educated that they would take up arms to injury elected officials, even threaten to hang, or kill them, it is commonsense to place barriers between the unforgiven and the forgiven.

Angry lynch crowds have never been a good advocate for democracy.

Is there really much here to discuss?

The Secret Service believes that a security fence is necessary, even though it won't be completed until 18 months before this term ends.  For reasons unreported, the costs have increased and the construction completion date has been extended.  The cost will represent about 2 1/2 seconds of federal government spending.  Folks see some irony and humor in the story since he is opposed building a wall along the U.S.’s southern border, although as a favor to SEN Kelly (AZ), he's approved repairs to the wall in Yuma.

Is there anything else to say.  I guess we could discuss the number of days that he isn't in the White House.  Anything else?
