MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski strongly rejected Rep. Lauren Boebert's (R-CO) complaint about Capitol rioters being unarmed during the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The Colorado Republican clashed with Democrats on the House Natural Resources Committee over a proposed ban on members carrying guns in the hearing room, and the "Morning Joe" co-host was astonished that Boebert used the attack on the U.S. Capitol -- which she foreshadowed that morning on Twitter -- as justification to arm herself in Congress.

"It was the first time in many, many years that I have been unprotected," Boebert told the committee. "I was disarmed, not unarmed, disarmed, because I was not allowed to possess my firearm."

Brzezinski was stunned by the right-wing lawmaker's comments.

"My God, it's headache-inducing, honestly," she said. "By the way, the amendment failed in a party-line vote. Here, this woman is talking about Jan. 6 -- her guy and her people, like, this was an insurrection to try and interrupt the process of the 2020 election. I don't even know where to begin. We have such violent stupidity."

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson noted the irony that Boebert was suggesting she wanted to shoot the rioters who were coming to disrupt the election that she wanted overturned.

"She lives in some sort of weird, you know, firearms Disneyland where everybody has guns and everybody shoots everybody all the time," Robinson said. "It's insane, it's just insane."

Brzezinski agreed, but said it also betrayed a basic lack of intelligence.

"I mean, we're saying this with all seriousness and without trying to -- I mean, it's hard," she said. "You have to say it like it is. We have a stupidity problem on the Republican side, literal stupidity, or something worse then -- stupidity with a violent edge to it. I mean, they want to have loaded -- this is -- what has become of Republicans in Congress?"

In a speech on the floor of Congress, far right whack job Lauren Boebert declared that Americans owning 46 percent of all the guns in the world is not enough. We have to up our game, Boebert said.

At a separate congressional committee hearing Boebert was indignant over the fact that the committee wanted to prevent House members from bringing loaded guns into the House chamber. Boebert says she would be "defenseless" if she couldnt have her pistol on her hip.

Lets assume that the House members wouldnt start shooting each other during arguments on the floor or in committees, but we can also assume that free speech and exchange of frank ideas would be badly hampered if everyone thought they might be killed for suggesting Jan 6th was a traitorous insurrection.

Its a close call over which GOP female congress person is more nuts, six of Lauren Boebert, half a dozen of Marjorie Taylor Greene.

If Pelosi and the Democrats had done their jobs and responded to the calls for additional security for the events of J6, the riots would not even have happened

They were provided with ample intelligence ahead of time that things could turn violent, but failed to act.

No one wants to acknowledge reality. NONE of the protesters, rioters or insurrectionists should have been there that day. Not just inside the Capitol Building, but outside either. No one had a legitimate reason to be outside the Capitol chanting "stop the steal" that day. Sure they had a legal right, but I am using legitimate in the sense of justified.

Why were they there? Without a doubt, because Trump asked them to come on the exact day the Congress would certify that he had lost. Trump told them that "it will be wild".

Why would anyone in their right mind want a "wild" scene at the location of a congressional vote certifying the election?  From Trump's point of view it is simple, he hoped they could create enough chaos to cause Congress to cancel or postpone the certification.

None of them belonged there, at all. Trump had lost 65 court cases, the states had all certified their electors, and Jan 6th was , as always, meant to be a formality.

What were 50,000 MAGA even doing there?

"What were 50,000 MAGA even doing there?"

The vast majority of the marchers were there to peacefully protest. They had every right to be there. If there had been a well thought out plan to violently overturn the government and stage a coup, it would have likely succeeded, since the powers that be decided there was no need to beef up security around the Capitol. Trump never told them to be violent, just to be loud. A handful of right wing extremists decided to start trouble, and several fools followed them in.

The left can say it was an insurrection all day long, but the American people know the truth, which is why they show little interest of concern about this event. Even though the leftists have tried to make it another "day of infamy"

Protest WHAT ?

By that point it was completely clear that Trump had no evidence of voter fraud.

The entire protest was not justified.

To YOU.

Besides, is there some liberal requirement for justification to protest that only liberals know?

Where to start?     How about here.

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson noted the irony that Boebert was suggesting she wanted to shoot the rioters who were coming to disrupt the election that she wanted overturned.

Robinson displays the typical sophomoric understanding for one of the main reasons for lawful gun ownership many anti gun nuts have.    They assume anyone who would choose to own and carry a gun does so out of a desire to shoot people.    Ridiculous.    Most people chose to carry for protection and that is very far from “wanting” to shoot someone.

That jump is just crazy.    Completely emotional and with no basis in fact for most legal gun owners.

Brzezinski agreed, but said it also betrayed a basic lack of intelligence.

Yawn ..... consider the source.    Which appears to still be one of the dullest tools in the shed.   Perhaps she is just projecting .....
