It could be that this person saw the boost he got in support the last time somebody tried to shoot Trump, and the whole thing was staged for sympathy votes.
It could be that this person is just deranged and not thinking straight.

When considering the motive of assassins, consider the irrational motives of people like John Hinckley (Reagan) or Mark David Chapman (Lennon).
IMO anyone who is trying to assassinate someone is at least irrational and at worst insane.
I'll disagree here. I think some know perfectly well what they're doing, and that it's wrong and could end in their own deaths, but are willing to take that risk, anyway.

Stochastic terrorism by Trump and Vance directed at Haitian immigrants is the cause of the bomb threats that occurred in Sprinfield, Ohio, this week.
The assassination attempt against Trump in Butler, PA, was the action of a publicity seeking registered Republican who was undoubtedly insane. No motive has been revealed yet for today's occurrence, although if it was actually directed at Trump, it is more likely than not much the same as the previous incident.
Any attempt to blame what may have happened today on Democrats would be nothing more than neo-Fascist propaganda.

That comment is deceptively misleading and/or incoherent.
The "last shooter", Thomas Matthew Crooks, made a single $15 donation to Democrats through ActBlue at the age of 17. When he became old enough to register, he registered as a republican. Therefore, he did not make "donations", only a single donation, and to state "all of the wanna be assassin's donations", is deceptively misleading.
Furthermore, to state "Just like the last shooter" implies that the individual involved in today's occurence made donations to Democrats, which is also deceptively misleading. What proof is there at this time that the he made any donations to anyone? None.
Look for the facts. . .follow them where ever and to whomever 'they' lead. . . not a scapegoat!

Because we have more guns than people. I have been in the vicinity of gunfire many times. So have lots of people - especially K-12 kids at school.

According to NBC , the FBI is describing it as an attempted assassination, although there is some confusion as to whether any shots were actually fired in Trumps direction.
What I saw earlier was there was no assassination attempt - just that shots were fired near the golf course.
Donald Trump has now experienced as many assassination attempts as Kamala has experienced interviews.
She better get going if she wants to catch up, its still early.

So? Many of us have been in the vicinity of gunshots. It’s not a national crisis. Nothing in this reporting indicates there is any evidence that someone took a shot at Trump. And if merely being in the vicinity of guns or gun shots is so scary, then maybe we should get some bipartisan gun control, yeah?
Shots were fired at someone who appeared to be targeting Trump. It now seems that maybe all the shots were fired by law enforcement at the suspect. An AK47 with a scope was recovered in a place that could be described as a lair where the suspect could have gotten a good shot at Trump. The suspect was discovered before the Trump foursome had reached the hole where the suspect was waiting.

I don't like Crooked Donald. But, nor will I sanction violence of any kind towards him (and wish he would not suggest/hint/imply it against others). On a potentially positive note: Maybe the do-nothing congress (some conservatives) will have 'notice' to get off their butts and hands - do-something about AK's.
