Loving America shouldn't be controversial. So why do Dems want you to be ashamed?
By: Rep. Jim Jordan

America is the greatest and most exceptional nation ever to exist in the history of the world. We are a nation founded by divine Providence that recognizes that all our inalienable rights come from God who is our creator who created us all equal in his sight. We are one nation under God, indivisible. We are out of many one. A nation that In God we Trust. Our founders were enlightened persons who strive to put us on the path to making a better world. We forged a new path striving to create a more perfect Union from day one onward. Being fallen humans we have made mistakes along the way. We recognize them make corrections and move on. We don’t fixate on all the mistakes and make them our total history denying all the good things like CRT and 1619 progressives do. America is a beacon of light to the world and had accomplished so much and led in innovation and invention from early on. We as Americans have much to be proud of and stand tall for. And if us celebrating America as founded along with our July 4 1776 history, our culture, and traditions annoy progressives and hate America as sone of their July 4 articles did this year, so be it. We are going to fly our flags from our pickups, and plant them on our lawns to spite those who are embarrassed by what our exceptional nation is.

American freedoms are under attack. You can already see our liberties eroding...
NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles!
America is the greatest country in the history of the world. But, among Democrats in Washington, D.C., saying so is downright controversial.
Democrats want you to believe that the United States is a fundamentally racist country. They want you to believe that our founding ideals and the institutions of our government are illegitimate. And, worst of all, they want to indoctrinate your children with this dangerous thinking.
Why do Democrats in Washington want you to feel so ashamed to be an American?
Simple—it’s all about power .
Democrats want to implement far-left policies and radically restructure American society. They control the White House and the House of Representatives. Only the Supreme Court and deadlocked Senate stand in their way.
That’s why Democrats want to make the District of Columbia a state, in order to bring two new Democrat senators to Congress. That’s why Democrats have called the Senate filibuster, which they used just last year to block Republican-sponsored police reform, a "Jim Crow relic." And that’s why Democrats want to pack the Supreme Court with four new left-wing Justices appointed by President Biden.
Democrats want to reshape America to fit their progressive vision of a cradle-to-grave entitlement state run by anonymous bureaucrats and social justice warriors. To accomplish this goal, they must remove the institutional roadblocks in their way. So Democrats have begun a campaign to characterize our long-held practices and institutions as racist and illegitimate—and therefore primed for elimination or fundamental change.
Amid this progressive onslaught, American freedoms are under attack. You can already see our liberties eroding.
Each of the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the First Amendment has been threatened over the last year. Big Tech and Big Government have been colluding to silence free speech online. Draconian lock-down orders prevented congregations from assembling to practice their faith. And even today, you cannot petition your congressperson for a redress of grievances because Speaker Nancy Pelosi refuses to let you visit the Capitol.
Now take the Second Amendment. The Biden Administration has begun an all-out assault on the right to keep and bear arms. The ATF has already rolled out regulations to try to restrict gun rights. And President Biden has nominated an ATF director who wants to radically limit Second Amendment rights.
Democrats have weakened and outright ignored the rule of law. Last summer, prominent Democrats condoned left-wing violence that destroyed American cities. Then-Senator Harris even raised money to bail out violent rioters. Nowadays, Vice President Harris and other Democrats look the other way as an unprecedented surge of illegal immigrants enter the country.
In all these respects and more, Democrats want to tear apart the very fabric of America and radically change the way our government works. They are destroying foundational principles of federalism and separation of powers to mandate one-size-fits-all bureaucratic edicts. They believe that the so-called experts in Washington know better about local concerns than the moms and dads in neighborhoods across our great country.
Sure, America isn’t perfect—no person is, and no country is. Like our Constitution says, we’re always striving toward a more perfect union. While it took far too long, our country ended the evil of slavery and guaranteed equal treatment under the law to all Americans.
But Republicans recognize that the United States, despite her faults, is unique and indispensable. We championed the great experiment of representative democracy.
We liberated Europe and East Asia from the tyranny of fascism and saved the world from the oppression of communism.
We sent men to the moon and brought about the digital age.
We have created the greatest amount of prosperity for the greatest number of people in the history of the world.
We should honor and appreciate the qualities and values that make us the greatest country in the history of the world. While we should always work to achieve a more perfect union, we must protect our fundamental American freedoms. And, most of all, we should never be ashamed of our great country.
God bless America.
When he was a wrestling coach in Ohio he looked the other way when another coach was molesting young boys.
God bless America indeed.
Who? Proof?
As of 06/28/21 at least 360 plaintiffs had file 28 lawsuits against both Dr Strauss and Ohio University.
Jim Jordan has been implicated by other coaches, players and a referee.
Ohio State has already set up a Strauss Settlement Program in May while lawsuits continue to roll in.
There you go.
There is none. It was a disruption targeting the author of the seeded article for something he didn’t do as a diversion from the actual content of the article he wrote. I as the seeder marked it off topic but was over ruled as usual.
For some it is easier to attack an author than it is to say anything positive about America at all.
Once again, for probably the thousandth day in a row , you post a genuflecting reference to the Founding. If what happened after the founding had been that great for everyone you wouldnt have to talk about the founding every day.
Dont you think there might be two parts to "American ideals"? 1. would be how they are signified which would be through documents and speeches etc, and 2. would be how they are applied in reality.
We have a long history of American ideals not being equally applied to all. We are trying to make it better now. Get over it.
Your approach is to keep repeating the ideals as if the words are all that matters, not the actions.
and I will do so non stop as long as I shall live. What happened after the founding was the building and developing of the greatest constitution and greatest nation ever to exist on earth. The 1776 founders created and laid the foundation for us to create a more perfect Union as we grew, developed , and expanded. They weren’t perfect but their enlightenment and efforts are worthy of honor praise and veneration appropriate for exceptional human beings.
They were human beings not angels or God. They were a very enlightened group of men for the times they lived in. They made compromises to get the Union created and started in the first place and set the stage for future generations to achieve the highest standards that they dreamed of and aspired us to one day reach. I don’t fault people in the 1770’s for not being perfect woke 2020 progressives. They didn’t say their product was perfect. They openly said they laid the foundations for a Republic if we can keep it, one that would over time strive toward the more perfect Union that was beyond their reach at the beginning.
Not even true. We have a long history of striving toward a more perfect Union and making needed change as we proceeded in our history and development as a nation. We weren’t perfect and we made mistakes as all nations do. We learned and moved on improving as we did so. It is not like America was this terrible nation that could do nothing good until self announced enlightened progressives suddenly just now decided to fix everything. You get over it. We will not deal with CRT, 1619 project, and Howard Zinn revisionism. Such a rewriting will not be negotiated with. It is not legitimate and will be fought every step of the way. You deal with it.
I will forever venerate the 1776 founding and the founding fathers and their writings including the declaration and the constitution. Their words and some actions set in motion the tools needed for future generations to continue to develop and make changes all along through out our history. We will not give all that up for some freakin progressives narrative and rewriting our history or remaking our culture and traditions. We flat out reject that revisionism and will if need be ban those things in areas we have political control of at the local and state level even if it means we have two Americas evolve as a result of progressives revisionism in certain urban areas. This is one culture war issue that we traditional history Americans will literally go to the mat over. It will only be imposed upon us by coercive force. Even then we will maintain 1776 underground as part of the resistance. Deal with it .
It is quite possible to both honor the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and teach honest history of the United States. You dont want that to happen because it would make many of your cherished beliefs inoperable.
I seriously doubt there has ever been even one decade in the history of America when the majority of its people did not harbor at least some level of racism. So on that basis America has been a racist country.
Why not admit it once and for all and let's move into a better future.
If you disagree please point out a decade in American history in which you believe the majority of Americans were not racist. Lets see how far back you dare go.
we already do that. We honor the documents, the founders, and their ideals and honest history. We are aware of the issues and imperfections through our history because it was honestly taught. How else would we have grown up knowing about the 3/5 compromise, the trail of tears, the slavery years, the abolition movement, who Harriet Tubman and Stephen Douglas were and Booker T. Washington among others? About the civil war, the African American Union soldiers, reconstruction and the the Jim Crow era following it, the rise of the Klan, the violence against the civil rights movement and the success of MLK Jr. before his assassination. We know about the race riots of the 1960’s. So if our history hasn’t been honestly taught all these years how do I who graduated from high school in 1979 know all this?
That’s not true. A majority of Americans are not racist and it’s likely been that way since the mid 1980’s. What exactly is “ at least some level of racism”? It seems likely a tidy sweeping generalization designed by progressives to be able to always claim we are systematically racist because 51% might have a view on one issue somewhere that they don’t like and then shill the racism mantra.
No. Not acceptable. We are not going to admit to anything not presently true nor accept present guilt for the wrongs of the distant past some before many of our ancestors ever came to America. We are not going to be guilt tripped as a precondition of reaching progressive utopia. We have been making changes and progress toward a more perfect Union since day one and still are. CRT and 1619 are the ticket to ending all such progress and creating divisions. We would hold a conversation on those terms and will tune them and their advocates out. There will be no dialogue on those terms. We will not accept the concept of assumed white privilege or guilt as a precondition of anything except absolute breakdown of all communication as long as those preconditions exist. We will move forward with the civil rights movement as articulated by MLK Jr. and those who followed/follow his vision and the move toward color blind and content of character. We will not negotiate with pre conversion Malcom X and BLM demands. I have a dream is the message we will go with in developing a more perfect union.
