This is the silver lining out of all the bad news.  A majority want the idiot that is in the White House to resign and an even bigger majority want Sleepy old pervert Joe to be impeached.

All I have to say is, we went far too easy on Trump over his four years in office. (Not my fault)

And every bit of what you and the left did to and said about Trump will be visited upon Biden.  Biden actually deserves impeachment now over Afghanistan.

I'm an independent.  I don't think Biden should resign over this. If the words from Biden are correct that everybody was in total agreement for the plan to leave, then his security council really fucked up and need to be held accountable.  There are some on that who should resign, and there should be a serious accounting from the State Department and DOD.  The plan assumed too many positive outcomes and didn't include backup plans for what happened. People should have stood up and pushed back at the flaws in the plan. And as more and more comes out, we will see that the administration knew they had a shit sandwich on their hands but they continued to push on with the original plan as if it would all work out.

So there are people who should resign or be fired, but I don't think Biden should resign.

As for impeachment, that won't happen so long as the Democrats hold the House. I would hope that if (I think when but not gonna push that dragon) the Republicans take the House next year that they do not push an impeachment trial right down our throats. I don't think that's really good for the country. (and TBH I do not want Harris sitting in the Oval Office).

News reports say he got sound advice from state, the CIA, and DOD and overrode all of their proposals in favor of what was actually done.

I've heard that and I've also heard that his security council offered no pushback to his decisions. If true then his security council needs to resign or be fired because they failed their first duty which should be to offer their best advice and work to protect the president from himself. If they are just a bunch of yes-men they do not belong in that position of authority.

I believe both.  That he got good advice, rejected it, then those that gave the advice carried out his orders without questioning his decisions further or resigning in protest. They wanted their positions more than their reputation.

I don’t think resignation is warranted, nor would it accomplish anything.

I’m frankly dubious about the poll. I also doubt a significant number of voters are even paying attention to what’s going on in Afghanistan.

BREAKING: Majority of Americans Say Biden Should RESIGN Over Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal

by Collin Rugg about 7 hours ago updated about 4 hours ago

According to a new poll, the majority of American voters think that President Joe Biden should resign after his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The poll, from Rasmussen Reports, asked voters: “Should President Joe Biden resign because of the way the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan was handled?”

The results were astonishing. Check out what Breitbart reported:

Overall, a majority, or 52 percent, said “yes,” Biden should resign, while 39 percent said he should not. Opinions over Biden resigning are sharply divided along party lines, as three-quarters of Republicans say he should — a sentiment held by nearly one-third of Democrats, 32 percent, and a plurality of independents, 48 percent.

Sixty percent of Democrats, however, say Biden should not resign.

Respondents were also asked to indicate if they agreed with the following statement: “I think Joe Biden deserves to be impeached because he’s abandoned thousands of Afghans who fought with us and he’s going to abandon some American citizens because he capitulated to the Taliban to a 31 August deadline.”

Sixty percent said they at least “somewhat agree,” but of those, 46 percent “strongly” agree with that statement. Thirty-seven percent said they at least “somewhat” disagree. Of those, 29 percent “strongly” disagree that Biden should be impeached.

However, even if one of those scenarios — resignation or impeachment and removal— came to fruition, voters are not confident in Vice President Kamala Harris’s ability to assume office. Forty-seven percent said she is “not at all qualified” to do so, and 11 percent said she is “not very qualified.” Only 38 percent indicated some confidence in her ability to assume the duties of being president.

The survey, taken August 30-31, among 1,000 U.S. likely voters, has a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.

The American people are not fooled by the Biden Administration’s attempt to lie and say that the Afghan crisis was a whopping success.

Biden, who seems to be suffering from dementia, thinks the Afghanistan is a good thing and wants you to join him for “grateful prayer.”

It is important to note that celebrating the “largest airlift in US history” is like celebrating the Titanic sinking as the “most successful lifeboat rescue mission in history.”

This all could have been avoided.

“I want to thank our commanders and the men and women serving under them for their execution of the dangerous retrograde from Afghanistan as scheduled — in the early morning hours of August 31, Kabul time — with no further loss of American lives,” Biden said . “The past 17 days have seen our troops execute the largest airlift in US history, evacuating over 120,000 US citizens, citizens of our allies, and Afghan allies of the United States. They have done it with unmatched courage, professionalism, and resolve. Now, our 20-year military presence in Afghanistan has ended.”

The president addressed the nation on Tuesday afternoon.

“Tomorrow afternoon, I will address the American people on my decision not to extend our presence in Afghanistan beyond August 31. For now, I will report that it was the unanimous recommendation of the Joint Chiefs and of all of our commanders on the ground to end our airlift mission as planned,” he said. “Their view was that ending our military mission was the best way to protect the lives of our troops, and secure the prospects of civilian departures for those who want to leave Afghanistan in the weeks and months ahead.”

“I have asked the Secretary of State to lead the continued coordination with our international partners to ensure safe passage for any Americans, Afghan partners, and foreign nationals who want to leave Afghanistan. This will include work to build on the UN Security Council Resolution passed this afternoon that sent the clear message of what the international community expects the Taliban to deliver on moving forward, notably freedom of travel,” Biden continued. “The Taliban has made commitments on safe passage and the world will hold them to their commitments. It will include ongoing diplomacy in Afghanistan and coordination with partners in the region to reopen the airport allowing for continued departure for those who want to leave and delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.”

Biden then bizarrely told Americans to join him in “grateful prayer.”

“For now, I urge all Americans to join me in grateful prayer tonight for three things. First, for our troops and diplomats who carried out this mission of mercy in Kabul and at tremendous risk with such unparalleled results: an airlift that evacuated tens of thousands more people than any imagined possible. Second, to the network of volunteers and veterans who helped identify those needing evacuation, guide them to the airport, and provide support along the way. And third, to everyone who is now — and who will — welcome our Afghan allies to their new homes around the world, and in the United States,” he said.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again today. This is not just aimed at you, by the way. Other people do it, too.

I’m not going to just follow a link or read whole articles or walls of text without knowing what it is I am supposed to be looking for. I am not going to make your argument for you.

I do this with everyone. If you want me to read an article or follow a link, you need to express your position and say “here is a link or an article that supports that point.” Preferably, even include a brief quote of exactly how it supports your position or highlight where relevant information can be found. Do your own work. That’s what I’m saying.

My time is valuable to me and when people just throw large articles or links at me with nothing more, I take it as a sign of disrespect.

True. And for those calling for impeachment, I have yet to hear anyone demonstrate where Biden committed treason, a high crime, or misdemeanor. Botching a military operation is not an impeachable offense.

Well I can think of other reasons aside from the impeachment standard why maybe a president should resign. For example, if he spent his days on the White House lawn getting high instead of doing his job, I’d say he should resign.

But all he has really done in Afghanistan is to conclude the course that Trump was following, and Obama before him. Could he have done it better? Yeah, sure. I wish none of our people, nor innocent Afghans, had died. But that’s not a reason for him to resign.

I'm not talking about a resignation based on a poor military outcome or other such criticisms. Rather, the reasoning behind calls for impeachment itself.

I don’t know what Trump would have done, but I do think it was a mistake to let the Taliban push us out faster than was necessary to remove all our people and equipment. I see no special reason why we had to be done on August 31. We should have told the Taliban to back the fuck up and let us leave at our own pace. It wouldn’t have been “forever” the way Biden characterizes it. It probably would have just been a few more weeks.

I think this is going to be a major point used in the 22 election cycle, and we're going to hear about it over and over. I don't know how the Democrats can really defend against it. So far the only real defense I've heard is that we had to get out of Afghanistan and hey, we brought out 130K people.  IMO that's not a good defense.

Yeah, I’m all for getting out of Afghanistan, but we didn’t need to be out by Monday, leaving people and equipment behind - not to mention the kind of desperation that causes people to cling to airplanes until they drop off.

Biden isn't going to resign and the House with Pelosi as speaker wouldn't impeach Biden if he was caught directing the terror attacks at the airport.  Given who the Vice President is, we are probably better off with lyin Biden.

But the failure in Afghanistan was massive and the anger is real. Biden's compounded that anger by lying and trying to pretend this was a success. Every time he opens his mouth he digs himself a bigger hole.

Is it a crime to end a war?  Is it a misdemeanor?  While I agree that the withdrawal went badly I agree with ending the war.  It's one of the few things that I agreed with Trump on.  Do you guys really want Kamala that badly?

Only democrat politicians and their supporters can justify or rationalize away the leaving of Americans at the airport watching helpless as 3 largely empy planes took off without them.
