Joe Biden: Walls for me but not for thee!

Biden opposed former President Donald Trump's border wall, and one of his first executive actions was to halt its construction. To use taxpayer money to build such a barrier around his own property now — and vacation property at that - reeks of hypocritical elitism.

Under Biden, the situation at the U.S.-Mexican border has turned into a full-blown crisis. Illegal immigrants are attempting to enter the country in record numbers. Border Patrol apprehensions for this year ha topped 1.74 million as of September. Since Biden took office in January, illegal immigrant encounters at the border have increased by a factor of nearly 2.5, and a major contributing factor has been Biden's decision to halt construction of border walls.

This month, it was reported that Biden had canceled border wall contracts in two areas of high illegal immigrant crossings — the Laredo and Rio Grande Valley sectors. Biden will cancel walls that protect you, but he will order walls to protect his vacation home. This is something that should outrage everyone. As with his aversion to wearing masks in public places, Biden is a hypocrite when it comes to using walls for security.

Biden has a long track record of dismissing the effectiveness of walls. "We need border security but that's not the border security we need," Biden said in a candid interview on CNN in January 2019. As an alternative, Biden suggested the border could be protected through "high-tech" solutions. This included "funding for the homeland security secretary to 'develop and implement a plan to deploy technology to expedite screening and enhance the ability to identify narcotics and other contraband at every land, air, and sea port of entry.'" Such technology would include scanners that would search any rail crossings and all vehicles entering through ports of entry.

"If you believe we need to secure the border, pass it because it has a lot of money for high tech border security," Biden said in April 2021. Yet, when it comes to his own personal security, Biden chose to build the type of security barrier with which he refuses to protect his countrymen.

Trump was right to want to build a wall to secure our border. They are effective measures in limiting the number of illegal immigrants that enter the country. There is a reason why Biden is building such a barrier around his vacation house. Walls work. Trump knew it. Biden knows it, too. He just doesn't think people are worth it to protect.

After January 6th?

The Secret Service has been working overtime ever since.  Not protecting Biden's extended family, just Joe & Jill.

On Tuesday, police in the Chicago suburbs arrested 45-year-old Louis Capriotti, charging him with making threats to lawmakers last year in which authorities say he promised to kill any Democrat who attempted to enter the White House on Inauguration Day.

If people “think that Joe Biden is going to put his hand on the Bible and walk into that . . . White House on January 20th, they’re sadly . . . mistaken,” he told one member of Congress in an expletive-laden phone message, according to a criminal complaint. “We will surround the . . . White House and we will kill any . . . Democrat that steps on the . . . lawn.”

Let's just say the vitriol is uncommon and standards of protection are increasing.

btw, the New York Post ran the story before Hannity.

For security reasons, the Secret Service declined to discuss their “protective means and methods” with The Post when asked for comment.

DHS did not immediately respond to The Post’s inquiry about the contract.

Previously false claims were similarly made about Obama properties, I will wait to see for myself.

And of course the terrible short stone walls and deer netting surrounding the Pelosi vinyard...are hypocritical of her.

Like I posted in 1.1.2, the Secret Service put aside $26.8 million in 2017 to protect the Trump family

and residence in Trump Towers alone and that article statement isn't clear if it was for one year or four.

All this travel has cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. The Washington Post reported that in 2017 the Secret service requested an additional $60 million for the year to pay for protective travel for President Trump, Vice President Pence, visiting heads of state and the Trump family. $26.8 million was set aside to protect Trump’s family and their residence at Trump Tower. That $60 million increase was no small bump: in 2015, the entire Secret Service protective travel budget was $80 million.

Not a deflection.  Compare apples to apples. Do we cut the Biden's $26 million in slack?

Tempest in a teapot.

Some apparently thought it was about Trump and golf courses.

It was brought up that talking about golf courses was a deflection, which apparently you noticed, too.

The article doesn't mention all the costs involved in protecting a President.

It DOES talk about the fence and how hypocritical it is of Biden.

Trump Defensive Syndrome isn't pretty is it?

I wouldn't know, but apparently the same people who suffer from TDS can't tell what a defense is.

Yes. TDS does somehow manage to get into many discussions on articles having nothing at all to do with Trump.

Just guessing by the aerial shot that the plat is less than two acres so the perimeter is between an 1/8th of mile long to  1/4 mile long max

in a residential neighborhood with homes on either side and the Rehobath Marsh behind the home.  Probably a lot of surveillance

Tens of millions of dollars are spent every year on all Presidents to ensure theirs and their family's safety. George Bush Jr famously had millions in improvements made on his Texas ranch to house the secret service who accompanied him plus miles of security fences and guard posts. Rightwingers who are getting all indignant about a mere half million spent on Biden's security probably do not care if he is safe anyway!

A half million $ paid for about a foot of Trump's wall.

It is only taxpayer money. What the hell do Democrats care? They are just going to blame it on Trump anyways.

The left is in complete denial about what is going on at the southern border. Maybe a few foreign terrorist attacks by those crossing out border and who are not caught in liberal bastions of stupidity strongholds will wake them the hell up!

U.S. border agents in recent months arrested two Yemeni men on a terror watchlist in separate incidents as they crossed the border with Mexico illegally, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on Monday.

The men, arrested in January and March near a port of entry in California, were on a U.S. government watchlist for terrorism suspects and a “no-fly” list, CBP said in a press release.

A group of Republican lawmakers that visited the border in El Paso, Texas, in March said border agents told them during the trip that some people caught crossing the border were on a U.S. terrorism watchlist. Republicans have criticized President Joe Biden for easing some restrictions put in place by former President Donald Trump as the number of border crossings has risen in recent months.

One of the men, aged 33, was arrested on Jan. 29 after allegedly attempting to cross the border illegally near a port of entry in Calexico, California, CBP said.

Border agents found a mobile phone SIM card located beneath the insole of the man’s shoe, the agency said.

The second man, aged 26, was arrested on March 30 in the same vicinity.

A CBP spokesman said in a written statement that it is “very uncommon” for border agents to encounter people suspected of terrorism at U.S. borders, but that the arrests underscore the agency’s “critical” vetting efforts.

The former Border Patrol chief is warning that President Biden’s mishandling of the surge of illegal immigrants at the southern border has caused more than a humanitarian crisis — it’s also created a national security threat because of the number of known or suspected terrorists crossing into the US.

“Over and over again, I see other people talk about our mission, your mission, and the context of it being immigration or the current crisis today being an immigration crisis,” Rodney Scott said in a video message to his agents before retiring on Aug. 14, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner .

“I firmly believe that it is a national security crisis. Immigration is just a subcomponent of it, and right now, it’s just a cover for massive amounts of smuggling going across the southwest border — to include TSDBs at a level we have never seen before. That’s a real threat,” Scott said, referring to the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database.

Scott, who was pushed aside by Biden in June after serving as the head of Border Patrol since 2020, urged the agents to remain vigilant.

No walls to protect US civilians; but Biden deserves a wall to make sure his incompetent ass is well protected. Could they please make sure it completely encases him? Put a roof on it; and seal the entrance/exit once he is in. He will be protected forever then.
