Not the actor, not the movie, but the character in the movie.  Characters in made for tv movies or miniseries can be included.

I think all of us have many favorite characters, but here are a few of mine.

Frank Bullitt  in Bullitt    (Steve McQueen)

Sully in Nobody's Fool   (Paul Newman)

Rooster Cogburn in True Grit (John Wayne)

Viola deLesseps in Shakespeare In Love  (Gywneth Paltrow)

Annie in Speed (Sandra Bullock)

Michael in The Deerhunter   (Robert DeNiro)

Yvonne Biasi in It Could Happen To You (Bridget Fonda)

It is a tough one. There are quite a few I liked.

I'll narrow it down to these two:

Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle in "American Sniper"

or

James Woods as Roy Cohn in "Citizen Cohn"

Mr. Hobbs - quiet, patient, very patient, very very patient, and in the end surgically ruthless. The poster boy for "revenge is a dish best served cold."

And all for love.

I may watch it again tonight.

Ooops!  Memory lapse.  The 9th one should be Monte Wildhorn, not Monty Whitehorn.  I was close, at least.

I know that you said movies or miniseries... but one of my favorite characters of all time is in a TV show based on a comic series. Fear the Walking Dead's "John Dorie" played by Garret Dillahunt.

For movies:

Walt Kowalski [Clint Eastwood] - Gran Torino

Jay and Silent Bob [Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith] in several movies - Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Reboot.

Christian Wolff [Ben Affleck] - The Accountant

Jordan Belfort [Leonardo DiCaprio] - The Wolf of Wallstreet

Frank Abegnale [Leonardo DiCaprio] - Catch me if You Can

Mac [Steve Lemme] - Super Troopers

Thorny [Jay Chandrashekar] - Super Troopers

Holly [Drew Barrymore] - Boys on the Side

I have so many more...
