Am I right?
Voting has Ended
For my movie quizzes, am I right to require adherence to my rule about not posting in a comment any movie or actor names whether or not they appear as quiz questions or on any lists or elsewhere or any other kind of hint, and enforcing it by deleting such comments? This poll is available only to those who are on my quiz notification list. Be assured that nobody knows who casts a ballot, not even me - the system makes it absolutely confidential. To vote, choose your answer by clicking on the little circle to the left of the choices, and then click on the word "vote" under the list.

your quizzes , your rules as i see it .
but this is actually an area that could become very gray , part of taking the quizzes is thinking of different movies and or actors , as long as what is discussed has nothing to do with quizz questions , i think discussion of other movies could bring more people to the quizzes and maybe participate .
simply my opinion though . 3rd choice i would have chosen if offered was in the middle , between the right or wrong , as i explained .
Thanks for that, Mark. Once the quiz is closed there is no reason why discussion about the quiz questions or any other movies or actors or whatever cannot be a rewarding discussion between not only those who took the quiz, or are on my notifications list or not contributing to it. As well other movie artilcles are posted often that could elicit discussion. Members have also carried on discussions with me during the quizzes by means of PNs which does not distract other members.
At the same time that Elon Musk is taking a poll asking users if he should step down, you put up this poll.
It's been a strange day!
He should.
You almost took the analogy right out of my mouth.
Like Mark said ( and Elon practices ) my site, my rules, my quiz, my rules.
Although on the other hand, on the public domain quiz
I made a comment as to how many John Wayne movies were on the clue list
( which we can all see ) and how several of them were the same exact synopsis.
It was deleted...
You ask for comments and bumps but ...
I think, along with he who shall not be named, that you sometimes take the fun out of it.
Think of this, S.P. Are you aware of the significance of this?
Even if I may take some of the fun out of it, I do what I can to prevent it from turning into a shambles that's no longer worth doing since many others still do find that it is fun and tell me so. As I said to Mark, there's no reason why full and free discussions can't take place as soon as I've closed the quiz. In fact they would help keep the quiz on the Front (Home) Page.
By the way, Vic, did you now notice that around 57% of Twitter users have voted for Musk to step down. He had said he would do what the majority wanted so let's see if he will. But now what about me? So far the vote is 5 to 0 that I am right, but 17 members are qualified to vote, and if it turns around that a majority say I'm wrong, does that mean I have to step down from producing movie quizzes?
A blue check mark subscriber suggested that since they ( the paying subscribers ) have more "skin in the game", only their votes should count!
Musk agreed and said he would make that change.
Meanwhile throughout Twitter the tribalism is naked with Musk supporters now blaming liberal & progressive "deep state bots" for "skewing" the 57% vote.
Similar to the blue check mark subscribers, a link to this poll was sent only to the participants whose names are presently on my notifications list, and unless a participant gives that link to someone else, voting is limited to the participants.
I have had a further thought as to why I require a broader adherence to my rule, and that is that it would be difficult for me to have to check very carefully the movie or actor or other info posted as a comment even if it isn't on the linked list to make sure it doesn't give a hint or clue to everyone. That could make my quizzes a real burden on me that could make posting them more trouble than they're worth creating.
I hope you can agree with that.
